DTM - Assigned car league - Sundays 8pm GMT

Not sure if this has been decided yet but are we going to run fully tuned or not? DTM run at 470hp, I have a feeling we're not doing that.

We are still testing but so far it looks like the Merc 190e, Alfa and Calibra might be fully tuned. The the Audis might be limited to whatever the BHP equivalent of about 590PP (full wing) is and then the CLK and Astra etc at a slightly higher value.

I propose a big test session with some proper mock races this sunday at 8pm GMT, so please clear your calendars and join in.

Not only will we be testing cars, but also checking driver ettiquette to make sure people aren't diving up the inside of other drivers and using them as a rail in the corners etc...

I agree homes, a good practice session Sunday, with a few multiple races on various tracks.

I really like this as it will also give us a good indication of what limit the grouped cars need to perform at.

Obviously the Alfa, Calibra and 190 will be fully tuned.

I wonder how the middle cars would perform with a stage two turbo, and then the faster cars limited to standard turbo.

Anyway...we need to test will all drivers, so bring on Sunday

something from the recommended tab so we cant fiddle with it
here's a couple that might work

Elise 111R 04 194bhp low horse power but can be quite unstable
GT citroen road car 500bhp similar power out put to what we might run
CT230R 08 572bhp full on time attack car lots of down force lots of power

all handle differently and could work
track wise we probably want a
street circuit something like rome not many corners so every corner counts massively
then a proper race circuit like Laguna or spa
and then perhaps a random
Eifel Circuit
so all styles are suited for and every ones happy

I think it should be a car similar to what we're going to run. Rear wheel drive, stable, etc. I absolutely hate every car you listed Will. Lol. I guess the CT is good.

autumn ring for trial mountain( think thats what its called cant remember ) or laguna seca the latter also is quite testing ?
but the other two are good is it a good idea to qualify with a 4wd as well ? as some ppl might end up in one
or we pick a selection of tracks randomly number them and then the fastest qualifying randomly picks a number between 1 and lets say 10 he doesn't know what track hes picking only homes knows so that could keep even

I don't think it really matters what car we pick as long as it has more or less the same pp and we all use it, let's not over complicate things. The shoot out is a same car ranking procedure..... and for bragging rights lol.

what would you guys think of doing a fun series before or after the main races e.g 10 la-s of a track in caterhams or mx5s or something like that. so you can put aside the depressing race result and end the fixtures on a happier note

You certainly can suggest that fine sir. Why don't you take part in the hotlap knockout league events? Basically we all drive the same car from the recommended tab. each driver races each other driver (1 hot lap) once in a league system. the top 4 go into a semi and a final. we will probably hold 3 of them on 3 different tracks.... I will announce details soon.

The qualifying shoot out in the same car is just to see how fast everyone really is, to give you a ranking and for bragging rights lol, so that we can put everyone in the correct group and allocate everyone the correct car to race with. Once you have your car and the championship starts, then you qualify and race in that car with full setup as you please.

Make qualifying points the same as the race.

The qualifying same car shoot out is a once off thing before the championship, not before every race. I don't think anyone will sandbag....... it's like admitting you're slow. This ranking system is a good way to show everyone what you got on a level playing field, and you'll keep your ranking till the next championship till we do it again
