Dual Boot Blues..

i have 3 partitions on my hard drive and i installed windows2000 pro on my first partition and win98 on my second and and left the third for data and everything is great...at start up i was asked which operating system i want to use and fired it up....

6 months later w2k got corrupted so i reformatted and reinstalled it, fine....however at startup i am no longer asked which os i want to boot up...it defaults to wk2...

its a laptop and i use w2k at work to maintain network intergrity and w98 at home so its important that i get it fixed.... i know theres a little batch or text file somewhere that needs edited but which one?

all partitions are fat32...

You need to edit boot.ini in c:\ It's a hidden system file, but what you need to do to it.. NO idea... Haven't had a dual boot system for years...

cheers buddy....

seems that the line containing win98 had been removed by setup....i just edited the boot.ini file from the command line and were back in business...

I'm guessing your boot loader was on your Win2k partition, and that when you reformatted it, you also erased the boot loader and config files.
