Anyone in the USA going hard core and watching the race from the start? I plan on hitting the sack soon so I can be up by 3 to watch the start.

Starts tonight? Or well tomorrow AM?

Scrolling down the entry list...

I'll be 'watching'. Probably do stuff around the house, do some iRacing etc with MotorsTv on in the background.

Why? They finished just off the podium in class last year.

The race starts in 33 minutes time.

Video is live now in the first post link.

Just saw a Nismo logo on a Mercedes...I want to say now I've seen everything, but somehow I doubt I have.

Call me crazy, but did I just see the Corvette C6R?

Yeah, check the entry list, last team. There's a crazy variety of cars indeed, makes for a very fun race, super dense.

If the C6.R can race GT300 in Super GT it can race anything haha.

Usually simple designs are better when it comes to liveries but oh my god that Aston looks amazing.

good to see they're giving the GTA Nissan some airtime!

Well this is how I've understood it... Instead of having yellows and safety car bunching up the field messing strategies up for some and possibly leading to unsafe racing when they go back to green (as they are all bunched up) the whole field slows to 60 mph to avoid bunching up and meaning no one loses out on time. I think.

Heading to bed for now, but going to be awake at 10:00 AM over here. Dammit, so much going on this weekend, I'm going to lose a whole weekend of my life at this point

That's how I understand it too.

I think they said 60 kph which is a bit slower.

Code 60 rule - (a maximum speed of 60 kph for all competitors on the track) when stationary cars had to be recovered from dangerous places or when visibility and driving conditions were too bad to continue the race at normal speed.

I missed the explanation of that, what's going on exactly?

No safety cars. Instead everyone slows to 60 KPH. No one can close up on anyone else or you spend three minutes stopped in the pit lap as a penalty.

The gaps between the cars is maintained at all times.
