Great. Academy car takes class lead and then crashes into a tyre in the middle of the road. :grumpy:

Of all things to happen.... :ouch:

Trying to get the position of the other car, but can't find it on live timing.

Edit: Found it, Steve's in the car. P6 in SP3.

Not looking good for the 127 car. 13 laps down is a lot to come back from. And the 147 being 5 laps down, still within reach but not sure if they can make that up by the end without the leaders having problems. This race isn't looking too good for us. :(

Over night there they only use one camera so the camera guys can rest. I don't think we've hit that point yet though.

Just for memory, the 24 car is the all lady team, correct?

Edit: Also I really would like for them to just ditch the silly Joker lap system. I feel it just makes for some sterile racing when drivers can't exceed a certain lap time.

Looking okay so far for the #24. That's what I like to see, a BMW leading :) fingers crossed it stays that way. It's only 5:30pm here, but it's Friday afternoon, I've just finished work, it's been a long week, and I think if I try and watch this I'm just going to nod off to sleep :(

That only applies to the A6 AM cars and if they wanted to be PRO cars they wouldn't have to use the jokers.

It's the teams strategic choice.

Holy crap, someone from the Pentagon is watching this race. "My tax dollars at work"

Thought it applied to the other classes as well.

Pro = fast as they want
Am = 10 joker laps
Everyone else = minimum time you can't pass or you get a drive through penalty.

Ok, I get it now. Still, why the need to mandate a set time for some of the competitors?

That set time is usually so fast that hardly anyone will go over it. Especially at night and with all the traffic. As far as the AM cars, couldn't tell ya.

To prevent manufacturers turning up with a team of superstar drivers and dominating the event.

The organisers want this race to be a low key friendly event for everyone so amateurs and gentlemen drivers can have a good race with a good chance of a result and not just for professionals.

SP3 leader with gearbox issues. And I was looking at the timing, the 147 car is only a few laps behind P3 in their class, so a podium is still within reach.

Edit: Think the 147 car may be finished. :(

Anyone here still awake?

Also, the Divas BMW is now a class leader. It also has occured ot me why I somehow confused that team with the A6 class BMWs: Team Schubert. Apparently, that car runs under that name along with the Saudi BMWs in the top class.

Edit: Ok so now that I've actually taken the time to scroll through the live timing:

Racing Divas Team Schubert

Saudi Falcons Team Schubert

Thats what threw me off, along with the fact that it seems like all I ever see Schubert Motorsports run IS BMWs.

They lead their class for quite a while until they had an incident with a Lamborghini that broke their steering. They managed to make the repair (after sitting on track for what seemed like forever) and got themselves back into the lead of their class. 👍

So GTA cars - #147 is over 50 laps down, they're just in it for experience now. The #127 just came out of the pits with Wolfgang at the wheel. They have been running fantastic, nearly 4-5 seconds faster per lap than anyone in their class in front of them. Up to 5th in class, only a couple laps behind 4th. Certainly still a chance with that car. 👍

Edit: 4th just pit, so another chance to move up a spot. :D

Just remembered the race was today, just tuned in just in time for an apparent wreck. :indiff:

Also, why is there an air-raid warning going off?
