Duping DLC paints

I'm sure a few already knows this but I'll explain how to do it for those that don't.

You can dupe DLC paints but not the way as we know it like with normal paints.
Make sure that after to get the DLC that you quit and save game to your USB! (VERY IMPORTANT!)

You paint a tradable car in a DLC paint and send it to your second account.

Quit game an delete GT5 game data. Or as TYGER and REDRKT suggested you don't have to delete save game data, you can just reload from USB straight over saved game data.

Reload your GT5 saved game off you USB .

When you go back to your paint items the DLC that you used to paint the tradable car will be back in your paint items.

When you go to your 2nd account to get the car you sent with the DLC paint it will be painted in the DLC colour but you won't get the DLC paint chip. You will receive the previous colour of that car.

So now you can have multiple cars painted in the new DLC colours and not waste them. If you paint a new DLC car or any other non tradable car in the DLC paint then be carefully not to save it unless you are happy to have used the paint.

Hope this helps some people.

I suggested this in another thread but hadn't tried it yet, glad it works!

One small suggestion I would have is when you go back to your old save on your USB stick/external drive/whatever, I don't think there's any need to delete your newer save on the PS3 HDD first, I think it asks you if you want to overwrite, when you copy the old one back.

This just mitigates the risk a little, as if you delete your current save then for some reason can't restore the old save from your USB stick (eg. it's corrupted), you're screwed.

Yeah you could do it that way. But I just delete it and reload off USB.
Also it's a good idea to do a second back up on another USB if you want.

All you have to do is copy the old file back to the PS3, there is NO need to delete the current game data, and actually you are asking for more problems by deleting the game data than you are by just copying over it.

Anyway.... It works. As for what your saying it can be done both ways but that's not the point of this thread.
If you want to do it your way or my way, it dosnt matter.

They're just trying to help you out and prevent you from having future problems.

So you can only paint one car a day really then?

Good tips but a lot of hassle over such a basic function.

This is car duping,no paint duping. Anyways why there is always someone who wants to beat the sistem? Can't leave the things the way the are meant to be?

Pretty good method. 👍

I was thinking about doing this but I didn't know of the DLC paint would stay on the car when it was sent or if it would revert to the previous colour. So yeah thanks for that.

My only gripe though is that unless you have someone you can send the car to, or 2 PS3's, you end up taking almost 2 days to paint 1 car.

Yeah that's right. It would take 2 days. Yes a bit of mucking around but thats the only way.

Thanks MONSTAR for posting this, it makes it a lot easier to understand, maybe it'll make PD rethink this ridiculous one-use paint DLC. 👍

Yes all true. But when PD allow for multiple accounts to use the 1 DLC it could he done in 1 day ;)

Np. It's because of you I started this thread.

I'm just really glad you took me seriously, there's a lot of people on GTP that don't.

No too much of a hassle to send a car and resend it back. I would see it in the market place if the trade limit was lifted.
It's not that much of a hassle if you have a duping buddy...which I'm working on getting.

Dumbest question of the week: if you backup the game then send a DLC color to a 2nd account then load the game, the paint chip is gone right?

no such thing as a dumb question mate ;)

You have to back up from your saved game data from your USB. Then your paint is back again. Hope this helped.

Yes but I mean instead of sending the car painted, send the DLC color straight away and then load the data :sly:
I guess it's not possible, but just wonna be sure.

If i really have to put all that much effort,i would just buy more paint packs.

Are things really that bad for some of you that you cannot afford a small fee.

If not then i guess you should sell that ps3 and get a job or something.

Or like many people have said, you could spend £1.59 (or whatever is your currency) on another 100 chips? That would take 3 minutes of your time, and a small fee on your wallet.

When you see how much money spend on DLC songs for RB say, or the map packs etc for games like COD, £1.59 is pretty darn good value if you ask me.

You can't send the paints but it would be good if you could.

It would also mean actually paying for DLC paints would be pointless, as you'd be able to get them all in the marketplace ;)

That's right. But let's say there's a guy who just love to paint 10 of his cars in the same color, but the color is a "one use only". What would you do?

Sending 10 days in a row a repainted car to your other account (for free) or spending £15.90 on "digital" paints to get the job done? :dunce:

Yes, that would of course be a problem.

But, if you BADLY want a car in a certain colour.... then yes, you would have to spend 10 days sending yourself back the cars. (20 days infact, one day to send, next day to send back.)

Basically, this paint system is stupid and needs to be sorted out. But there we go, no point in endlessly moaning eh 👍

Haha, this was the first thing I tried. I got two cars in FLUORESCENTE 1 and still got the paint.

Even better is to send those cars to a friend who sends it back the same day so you can duplicate these paints everyday in stead of once in two days ( You can send one car per day per PS3, so via friends it goes faster ). Your friend, maybe without DLC can also duplicate that car then. Thats what I did

I think this is silly that something I PURCHASED WITH REAL MONEY is gone after one use. The DLC paint chips should stay. The one use in game is bad enough, but after actually PAYING for it ... that's pretty frustrating.

I was afraid of this.

Wow, so much work, only to paint a car...

Seems like it´s even easier in real life :dopey:
