Duping DLC paints

Thanks for validating my point. It isn't a good investment for you, but that doesn't mean it's bad for everyone else, even if they only like 1 out 100 paints as long as they can justify their purchase.

Well, if you don't have to care about money, I guess paying $20+ for 10 of the same paint chip isn't an issue, and it isn't stupid, because what's $20+? Or what's even $200+ for 100 of the same paint chip? Even if that's more than twice as much as what you've paid for the game, as after all, you'd have bought the game even if it was $1000, right? As long as it's worth it to you, and you can justify the purchase, right? What's an issue, however, is if everyone just pays what it costs, without thinking about it. Because if everyone just does it, the people selling don't really have to rethink what they're doing either, and everyone who isn't willing to pay quite that much for paints, in this case, ends up being negatively affected by all the people who simply do fork out these sums without any thought. That's something not to be neglected either, no?

Why stop as 100 set of paint chips, why not go to 1 million sets of chips while you're at it? I love argumentation by exaggeration! You do realise buying stuff in games for whatever reason, (to save time, which is the argument I responded to originally) isn't something new, right? It's simple economics.

You think it's exaggeration that someone may actually want 100 of the same DLC paint chip? Personally, I haven't gone to 100, but I've got at least 20 different cars in one and the same DLC paint. I'm sure some people will have a lot more. You consider 100 to be an exaggeration, something that can't possibly apply to anyone? Could that be a reason as to why some people don't understand why some others go on about how expensive DLC paint chips are? Thinking about it, if there wasn't a 1-a-day limit for DLC paint duping, I may well have 100 cars in one and the same DLC paint. What's exaggerated about that? If there was an option to buy 100 of the same DLC paint chips for the price of a single paint pack, I may well have bought it. What's exaggerated about that?

I'm not so sure on that. It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people wouldn't consider economics in their purchase decisions, but a mere feeling of want.

As much as I love supporting PD, I don't see any justification in having to shell out another 2 dollars in the case that there's a paint that we like and want to put in another car. Again, it's probably a clever marketing system by Sony if there are people that are willing to do that, and I'm not complaining really, since he/she will be supporting PD and the franchise.

More on topic, I wasn't aware that we could do this. I think the fact that I found out about this makes it that I now have something to look forward to, and actually have fun using the paint chips without having to worry about wasting one. Sorry Sony and PD! On the bright side, I already bought it twice for the FT-86 II!... and I can save for any possible GT5 DLC in the future.
