Dynamic statistics about the GT3 WRS (ended week 106)

So if I summarize well you suggest that I :

1) re-use the points granted in the GT3 WRS as GT4 WRS initial points
2) keep a separate leaderboard per division
3) use different points scales (does the term make sense ?) for each division
4) carry all points across when moving promoted drivers to their new division board

Mates, you want my wife to kill me every monday evening (or my boss every monday afternoon) when I spend 3 hours updating all this.
But those are good ideas I think, and I'll try to set something up from them during this week-end. I'll have to use PHP / MySQL instead of Excel. That'll save me a lot of time every week.
I like it...
I definitely like it ;)

I say wipe the slate clean. New WRS, new racers, lets start over 👍.

i say new points (keep in mind im 1st for current board and about 3rd for the official 104 board), points go for more than 18 places but keep the style how it was. Just one list The div2 and 3 guys can still race, they just race there mates for positions, even if them positions are 15th and 16th they are still able to compare and race for positions. You can still claim to be the highest Div2 guy on the list or the highest Div3 guy on the list, even if its 15th and 23rd respectivly. no need for many lists and different points for divisions and such.

Just my .02

Ok, I thought at Sphinx's and Wizard's suggestion to split the points ranking per division, with a different point distribution.
I propose to reward 20 drivers per division (that's 60 drivers in total per week  ) according to the following board :
(I used week 104 results as a example)

The funny thing is vexd (top of div 2) would score as many points as Small Fryz (5th of div 1), and they actually had very close lap times that particular week. Weird thing.

All comments are welcome.

I like it, cos im at the top of something.

And my name loox good in orange.

Did i beat Fryz, or did he beat me?

No seriously, its cool. But only cos im at the top. Can i be typed in upper case please? VEXD.

You're also on top of div 2 in the new division list.

Lazy guy, the answer is here. Dion was ahead by 0.015 and you were ahead of UB57 by 0.001

No. I don't know if I'll keep the names exactly as they are created (in which case you'll be in lowercase) or if I'll type the first character in uppercase and the rest of the name in lowercase, so that they all look in the same way (but then you won't be in uppercase either).

flat-out

Fantastic, absolutely fantastic, flat-out 👍

This way somebody that is consitent within his own division can have more points than somebody else that is inconsistent in an upper division, and therefore still feel revarded.

That board depicts exactly what I had in mind, plus the 'looking good' additions that you made :D

Now there is one more issue to be resolved: Do we carry over points from GT3 WRS, or do we start from scratch. You know what I say - but I'll repeat it just in case ;) - let's start from scratch. It would be too much of a pain for you to convert all the points from the GT3 WRS into the new system and keep track of all the 'within divisions' movements that were made.

About the names, I would say keep them exactly like the users have them on top of their own Avatar - I know this will upset VEXD, because he likes his name all uppercase, but you have already made your mind up on that. So, I would say, rather than capitalizing the first letter of everybody's name, keep them like they appear - this way nobody will be upset of the fact that you changed the look of their names.

I know how 'aggravating' (quote unquote) changing somebody's name can be - I particularly do not like when they call me 'The Wizard' :D

I sign myself like that, but the name I chose was TheWizard and I prefer when people address me with that name.

Yeah, I am weird :sly:

The Wizard.

Very nice Cyril 👍.

If our names are gonna be the same then can mine be Small_Fryz, as thats what it is :P.
Very lovely setup, cant wait to see how it pans out in the next few weeks 👍

Thanks for the comments TheWizard-with-no-space-between-The-and-Wizard ;) and Dion. The more I think about it, the less the old points fit into the new board.
I'm sad about it and I'll keep trying to find a way to include them.

The board uses Luxy's leaderboard colors : blue for div 1, orange for div 2 and green for div 3. That keeps the whole thing consistent.

@vexd : I've got a stupid idea (I'm a frenchman and it's 1:00 am, what else would you expect ?). Why don't you upgrade to GTPremium for one month, just enough time to change your name from 'vexd' to 'VEXD'. And you'll even get it in bold during that period.

That looks great flat-out. I think with a whole new system like this, it's a must that you leave out the GT3 point 👍.

flat-out

I knew this was coming ;)

Would the change be permanent? (minus the Bold, of course)
What I mean is: once he purchased the Premium account and changed his name to VEXD, would that be permanently reflected into his 'normal account' too? (that is, when the month expires and everything goes back to normal)

The Wizard.
