Hi all!

Just saw this at Autoblog.

The video says "Exclusive to Shift 2". Screw that! I want to see that car in GT5 - that's a car I really want to try out! Well, no DLC is confirmed for GT5, but I don't like that EA is screwing up with every other game by taking ownership of Porsche in their games, destroying the possibility for Porsche (and now Huayra) in GT5. NFS games are completed in just a day or two, why should Porsche and Pagani be so kind to EA?

...Screw EA who recently said they have the best game series - Yeah right.

God what are they doing? That looks worse than gt4

Edit- I was thinking about getting shift (Mostly for the inclusion of Road America) but that trailer literally gave me a headache... No thanks.

Sorry, says SONY BGM music is blocked in my country.. :indiff:

Wish everyone boycotted NFS and Crytek stopped cooperating with EA.. Then Porsche and Pagani would see that there are some better games out there. 💡

Barely seen worse shadows. Looks "ok" at first glance, but the airbrakes totally lack shadows. Color and lighting looks poor too.

Video isnt special to be honest. The line "its all about the money" popped into my head. ;)

EA simply have a contract with Porsche GmbH to administer in game licences.

Naturally they favour themselves in those contracts but it doesn't mean that Porsches don't appear in other games (FM3 is a good example).

Has anyone considered that RUF might be more desirable to PD as they are a builder in their own right with a reputation for models that are significantly uprated from Porsche's orignal designs?

Maybe the RUF licence precludes the use of Porsche in game? It certainly isn't a fact that EA will only licence the brand to themselves...

Considering we don't even know whether there'll be DLC, it's a bit silly to get upset right now.

So is there any source that confirms that Pagani exclusively licensed that car to EA? Because all I see here is that Shift 2 is the only currently announced game featuring the Huayra. Not that I have high hopes for it getting in GT5 but confirmation would still be appreciated.

It's not just that. GT5 would have had Porsches on the blu-ray disc if it wasn't for EA.

How do you know that? Source if you have one!

Like I said earlier, has anyone considered that the RUF licence might be a factor here? One manufacturer might not want their cars comparing to the other!

EA don't just licence Porsches to themselves - we know that from seeing Porsches in other companies' titles.

You can't possibly know that. Many other racing games do have Porsches so there could be hundreds of reasons why there aren't in GT5.

It's safe to assume that there have been negotiations between EA and PD for getting a sub-license for Porsche. A while ago, Kaz mentioned in interviews that Porsche will likely be in GT5; he wouldn't have said this if they weren't talking to each other. Regarding the fact that they aren't in now, one can suggest that the negotiations were unsuccessful. Only the reason is unknown.

As for the Huayra - it would only be clever of EA to talk Pagani into an exclusive contract. This car stirs the supercar scene quite a lot, and the more exclusive content of this kind a company can get, the more games they might sell.

Yup. I've heard it tons of times before and I just tried to google it. Only forums came up with questions and comments about it. Sorry I didn't find anything official. Kazanouri got a Porsche himself, though. Why wouldn't it be in the game if it wasn't for contracts Porsche had with Microsoft and EA? NFS and FMS is the only titles that assumably have the contracts.

Get on the blower to RUF then & see what they have planned for the Carrera GT, GT3 RS & maybe a 959. Man i'd love to see a 959 in the game 👍

Well, we know for a fact that EA has an exclusive Porsche license, and that they sub-license to other companies like Turn10. The rest is speculation.

Dont support their cause.. Stick with GT5.. Though Im really interested in how shift two will be... comitments number whatsoever says something like; Stay away from temptations! lol but ofcourse back then there was no GT so.....

Ya that pic looks so much worse than a GT5 standard:rolleyes:

I think I'll have both, with Shifts modification(on all but racing cars) and going by GT's maths it'll have nearly 300 cars(all with cockpits),
and that includes all the M3's you could want, along with Veyrons's, Porshces and a few tracks that looking at the feedback section most over here on GTP would kill for.

That pic, the air-brakes look like there being lit up by the backfire,

But whatever if people want to pretend Shift isn't a competitor then I'm happy for them, the rest of us won't be blinded by loyalty and will be playing what should be another great racing game.

Deffenently getting shift2 cant wait to try her out with the DFGT, heard some promising things about the new physics.

I will try Shift 2 if the reviews are good...and if it reaches platinum (more cheap).
Shift 1 is cool (now playing alongside with GT5, but GT5 is WAY better;)). After getting the platinum trophy I will return it to the store...
About the new Pagani, too bad that is a EA exclusive (they don't deserve it) eheh...

Why is it a big deal that EA have a car that GT can't have,

I mean we get exclusives in GT too,

Like the Suzuki Cappuchino, the Fiat 500 or any Mazda MX5/Miata ever built, designed or even dreamt about:sly:

Pagani, PAH!!

Note: the above comments are with my tongue firmly in cheek.

They try to compete through chequebook power and with declarations such us: "GT is not a game".
Personally the Nfs series died with "Underground 2"

Because Sony are the poor plebians of the game world:rolleyes:

It's not EA, it's the guy who makes Shift 2. Well, EA makes the licencing deals but the developer is cocky, having already said it will be the best racing game of all time. I'm expecting bribery so the game gets insanely high review scores, or the series' image will be ruined.

EA licencing is total bull:censored:.
