Hope the new cars are fun to drive. I find WRC1/WRC2 cars are a lot more lively than other classes, so I spend 99% of my time driving those. I really want to like the Xsara & DS3. And the S1600 206! :P

Do they have Singaporean? I fancy changing my nationality in the game.
"Added a new selectable nationality to Driver Details: Singapore."

This is really cool. I’m already plotting my rally career using the new cars. I’ll start with the Xsara Kit Car, can’t wait to tackle the tarmac events in that thing, then the C4, the DS3 then the Volkswagen Polo for a head to head for the ages against Ogier.

I’ve got two small kids and a full-time job, I’ll never actually work my way through all that, but it’s fun to think about it.

I did toy with the idea of Burkina Faso, but it's been narrowed down to Liechtenstein, Malta or San Marino. It's a small change but, like the much much improved livery selector, a very welcome one. And no doubt very popular with players in all these 80 countries.

The big thing not mentioned so far in this thread is the removal of short cutting exploits on many stages. Have the leaderboards been reset for these stages in particular @PJTierney ? (Not that it makes any difference to me since it's all I can manage just to finish a stage  )

Downloading. Surprised it was available this early, Normally seems EA WRC stuff is released around 5-6 GMT.

I really like the S1600 206. Xsara seems good too. I'm not too interested in the WRC cars, they're not bad though.

I've only done 4 short stages but they were very nice 👍

Tried the C3 WRC on Les Vinieres (First half of Brianconnet). Felt great, Uploading a quick vid now. Haven't played much WRC recently but was able to jump back in with relative ease. Testament to the great handling on controller as well as wheels.

Really enjoyed the new Monte stage, especially the 2nd half of it, although need to try the first half in the dry.
Fafe I think I actually prefer in reverse 🤣

Pretty sure Brianconnet has to be one of the most challenging Monte stages now. Some seriously tricky sections, can't wait to try it in fully winter mode
Just done a dry TT run in the WRC2 Yaris and a Winter recce in the C4 ('10) and it's definitely a 8/10 at least on the "eyes on stalks" scale, there's definitely a couple hazards in there that don't come with a warning. The ice doesn't seem that bad at the start, but then you get over the top of the mountain... 😅

Fafe is definitely a stage for the higher-end machinery although a wet run with the 01 Subby was still just as enjoyable as my dry attempt with the Hybrids. I assume the jump at the end of the stage is the iconic one but so far it's the big launch in the middle of the stage that's catching me out.

Looking forward to learning the stage a bit more - tackling it in the C3 WRC as my first time was probably an unwise choice 😂

Funny you mention the middle of the stage launch on Fafe, I've always considered that bit to be a more challenging jump anyway (albeit not quite as massive). I went and spectated at this particular jump in 2015 and witnessed a few mishaps, most notably Jari Ketomaa going end over end.

My only disappointment with Fafe so far is the lack of a crowd at the "big one" at the end of the stage. I feel like that would have made it feel a bit more iconic and more notable as a stage feature.

Tested out the 'hidden' new car this afternoon. The MINI JCW WRC. Has slightly different specs to the Countryman Rally (more power 315 in the new one, 310 in the old) and definitely feels slightly different to drive, doesn't bog down out of corners as much and feels a little more oversteery.

I'm sorry to be that guy. The new content looks great so far but I hope they patch it so the new stages feature in career mode as well.

Love these cars, love both stages, dunno what else to say. Fafe feels really different to the other location, far more along the lines of what I always remember Portugal being like watching it when I was young. The new Monte stage too, trying it in winter with ice and snow and then in the summer will be basically like two different locations too, I’d imagine. Very good. Roll on Hard Chargers.

Oh…except for some reason, the Peugeot 306 Maxi has had its livery wiped on XBox (not PS5), it’s just plain grey.

Seeing official liveries for stuff like the C4 WRC, the Marlboro Peugeot 206, the Red Bull Ford from the Ogier days, the Dani Sordo Mini from 2011, the Kronos Xsara WRC, all those are basically as good as entirely new cars for me. I try, I try, to recreate those liveries in game and some of them I’m quite happy with, but they get instantly deleted once the real thing comes in. Very happy to see the Polo, the DS3, the C3 too, filling most of the gaps that were there in the more modern cars although would still obviously like the ‘17 Yaris and i20. I’m rediscovering my love of the French cars right here. I don’t think I’d ever actually buy a Citroen or a Peugeot because I value being able to get home from work without calling the RAC, but man they were cool rally cars. Seeing the Xsara Kit Car, the way it gobbles up the tarmac with that wide profile like it’s been pumped full of steroids….the C3 was always my favourite of the 2017 spec cars too, by a mile.

Finally Youtube processed my video... Love how YT defaults it to 480p When 1440p is available...🙄

I'm enjoying the EA WRC creators stream. I tried to take part in the chat but like always this games community suffers so much from complainers and negativity I just had to leave.

EA/Codies did well with this DLC and fair play to them for trying something new with this Stream. There should be a good feeling and atmosphere around the game yet a large amount of people still complain. They literally can't win either way.

Edit - Haha this gave me a good laugh. Especially the Triple caution, Triple caution!!! While they are sliding down the road on the roof.

Wasn't able to get on the PS5 as early as I hoped, so not as much time with the update as planned!

Jumped into a few of the new Moments, started with the Polo, then the DS3 and a bit of C2 to finish. Polo immediately felt quick and lovely to drive, DS3 was fun as well.

Plan is to run the new stages in full tomorrow night, starting with the Polo, then the DS3 for comparison and finally the Xsara.

Early impressions of the DLC are good (brilliant to see a proper livery on the C4!). Only negative so far is the menus: very sluggish on PS5, especially after selecting a new livery.

I enjoyed the Ogier VW Polo Brianconnet moment.

Interesting that there's an Image of what looks like a Pepe Lopez (Spanish Rally Champion) Livery for the Fiesta R2 in the new garage background that isn't currently in the game... 🤔
