But doesn't the i20 coupe look the same as the current one pretty much?
No, the old one is a 3 door, the other is a 5 door aside from the other regulation changes such as aero and hybrids.

I like the car selection but agree with the thoughts shared on the Focus '99 Inclusion. The only major differences are a smaller rear wing and an integrated bash bar on the 01' version. Of course IRL there were more internal and mechanical differences but they would be too marginal to notice even if Codies tried to represent them.

The 03' would have been great as it isn't included in most rally games. I think the last game I drove it in was WRC Rally Evolved years ago.

The other 5 cars are interesting to me though so I'm more than happy if that leak is real.

Belgian flag on the roof scoop, it's a Neuville livery 😀 I love that car, my favourite from the 2017-21 regs.

I dread to think what Codemasters will do with the livery on that '99 Focus given their past record with Martini, playing on console with no livery mods and using chase cam a bad livery destroys the car for me. If we were going to get another Focus the 2003 version would've excited me more, I'm sure all of the cars will be fun to drive in their own right though.
I'm hoping it comes with this one. Always thought this looked lovely, despite its simplicity.

Agreed about the '99 Focus; doesn't really seem like a different enough car to warrant inclusion at this point (when there are so many other cars still missing). I am not a big fan of the '03 Focus, but that had more differences (mechanically and cosmetically) which would make it a more worthwhile addition.

I am hopeful for the EsCos WRC though. Love that car, especially if the CM audio guys manage to give it some love.

A GT7 style livery editor w/ a decal importer and a Showcase area to download other people's creations would be a dream for this game.

The white one from DR2.0 is the test livery but I think it was also ran by Francois Delecour in the third factory entry in 2001? Or something very similar anyway. The blue one was ran by Markko Martin in 2002. Both are awesome.

The '99 livery was included, sans Martini, in Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo and looked fine in that. It's a good livery and a car I like, its just very similar to what we already have. I'd have loved the 2003 version.

It's also a livery option on the 2001 Focus WRC if I recall already in the game. The blue one that is.
This is the one I'm thinking of: https://www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=213512

The blue one in game at the moment is the car with RS branding instead of Ford logo's that Markko Martin ran in 2002. The white car Delecour ran in 2001 was RS branding too but with a white base, that would be nice to have in the game.

Censored Martini liveries have been in lots of games recently, it's a Codemasters only issue that they can't add them to their games for whatever reason. Forza Horizon 5 has the Focus WRC and whilst it's not an exact match for the real car it's done a lot better than the version in EA WRC.

They're slightly different target liveries as well though, the EA WRC one is an earlier version (circa 2000) whereas the Forza one is the later 2002 version. The main issue with the EA WRC one is the light blue elements.

The main problem with the EA version is that they've swapped the light blue and the red sections and changed the shapes of the design on the rear of the car, I think it's based on the 2001 livery but is so far off it's hard to tell.

Rear design was like that in 2000 iirc. But yeah the swapping of the colours is what throws it off.

Wasn't expecting that this soon after the last DLC! i20 WRC (at least I think it is right?) in the thumbnail, 4 days till the full reveal.

Very much looking forward to that Hyundai as all the other cars in that class are great to drive. I can't wait to see what else is in there and I'm hoping for some more S2000 cars

Jumped back into career for the first time since Christmas and although I thought I'd suck terribly I still managed to keep the car in one piece (or at least a single number of pieces) despite abrading my wets down to the rims via overzealous braking on the previous dry stage. Guess it really is like riding a bike, albeit one with rally tyres and aero.

Tet isn't in the career mode so I checked out one of the moments and am still on course for the gold after doing a barrel roll on one of the sectors. Another surprise.

It's exciting when you miss a marquee target, the sponsor pulls half your budget and you have to start sacking engineers and teammates willy-nilly and sell off that expensive car you need for the side races. Exciting in a horrifying way.

Another thing I noticed since coming back to the game is that unless it's my imagination, the road seems to be a lot more visible in Sweden. Before it was as white as everything else and difficult to distinguish from its surroundings. Now the artists have mixed a thin patina of dirt into the track so it's browner and more visible. I think.
