Do we any info on the new game?
I mean there will be a new game by year end or an additional dlc with canaria, Paraguay and saudi Arabia?

If they are not able to fit new rallies and stages within the career mode that could be a driver for the decision.

In case we stay with the same game I also hope they’ll release new psn trophies as they add a lot of replay value.

Anyway to close my experience with the actual game i’m doing a full custom championship with all the rallies and all the stages. Every country a different car class, especially focusing on new cars and new liveries.

Without doubt it is the best rally game ever released. I put it on top of dirtrally 2 which was missing career mode and had a lot less stages and cars even if graphics were far superior.

They just need to fit a more engaging career mode and spectators along the stages…. Plus wales. I mean i do not get how is it possible that we don’t have a GB rally.

In my opinion stage quality increase is also required for new Zealand and Mexico which look subpar. Scandia i do not even consider.

Have a nice we all

is this a new bug?
The liveries from Les Maestros are no longer available in Career Mode. Just gone to do an event in the 2017-2021 Fiesta and Ogier’s livery is not pickable. I then tried a few other cars that had Les Maestros liveries those liveries are no longer available either : (

Why the hell have they been removed?

I was hoping to use the Pilot and Gronhholm liveries in Career, and now not only are they unavailable, but the Les Maestros have been removed.
That’s really disappointed me as the liveries were the only dlc items we were able to use in Career.

I tried restarting the game and xbox but no luck.

I don't remember seeing the Les Maestros liveries in career mode at all.

Yes they definitely were mate (on xbox anyway), I really enjoyed it and had only been using cars with Les Maestros liveries (i only play Career Mode).

I hope PJTierney sees this and confirm whether it was consciously removed, or a glitch.

I would like to apologize for my initial indifference to the Focus '99. Quickly becoming one of my favourite cars. I didn't like the 01' when I tried it for a Modern Classics Clubs series.

This is the external replay from my Focus moments run the other day. I don't normally sit through external replays but I enjoyed this one especially the four wheel scrambling through the icy hairpins 😄

Listen closely and you can hear the Exhaust note echoing off the rock faces or the cliffs. Great sound design and detail from codies.

Anyone else noticed that the rear lights don’t work at night on the 2008 Focus anymore?

Great video. How do you get to see the start before the car moves. When I watch a replay in VR it starts as the car crosses the line.
Cheers.

Thanks so much 👍

This is how the replays have always shown for me in non VR. They have always included the countdown time from the holding of the handbrake to the setting off. I've never used VR myself so I don't know I'm sorry.

Thanks. I will try with out VR and see if it’s the same as you.

I cheat and don't do the countdown so it's good to know they include it on the replays for normal starts.

What do you mean you cheat? 😄

You take a penalty right from the off on every stage?
No, I exercise the option for automatic starts at the beginning of every stage. That way I can rev the throttle and it puts the handbrake on for me until go time when it automatically releases it.

Manual handbrake control would give me an infinitesimally faster start... if I knew what I were doing. Just like manual gears would let me take corners quicker... if I knew what I were doing. That's how EA Sports WRC gives you the option to increase risk for potentially greater rewards.

One of those risky skills with manual starts is that you can actually release the handbrake before the Go call. If you time it right you won’t cross the timing beam early and you gain half a second.

Get it wrong and it’s a 10 second penalty though, so it’s a more advanced technique for competitive players.

There's a few stages that, if you bail this technique, you won't actually hear the Co-driver say go until after the first 3 or 4 corners 😅.

Oh I see, Definitely not cheating. Like you explain, You're putting yourself at a disadvantage if anything. 👍

A pretty safe option that I tend to rely on is on leaving go of the handbrake just under the half second to go mark. There's more time to be pinched but at least it puts the 10sec penalty out of the question.

Edit - Just tried the RS1600 Finland moment. Was lovely to drive after adjusting the diff a bit.

It sure is nice being able to drive a car like the Escort that doesn't try to murder me on every Kenya stage. 🙏🏽
I struggled at first, But I then I copied the diff settings I remembered using for the MK2 5/15/35 or thereabouts. Definitely makes it slower but not as slow as doing a 360 every other corner like I was doing with the default setup 😄

Edit - I just did the MK 1 RS1600 at Kenya, Great fun.

I had a big moment going wide into a ditch that produced some interesting photos. Still somehow got 9th on the leaderboard which I was chuffed with.

Finally tried this game with a wheel and boy... I don't know how people are fast in this game with a wheel, a much steeper learning curve than circuit racing games, doesn't help I don't have a handbrake so use a button on the wheel which feel very unnatural.

Also I often wondered why the co-driver called out "unseen" in a lot of corners as i could clearly see them as I always drive in chase cam with a pad but now using bonnet cam with a wheel I can see they really are "unseen" 🤣

You could set handbrake to clutch pedal, it can be adjusted too in setups for a gentler action.
Much smoother that way.
Clutch to a button isnt much of a big deal on modern sequential cars, or if use auto clutch.
At a push, it can be used too on h pattern cars.
Not ideal but..

Normally I'd be one to support just making more DLC, but I think something would have to be done with a few things and it might be better to move forward to a new title.

I personally don't play career but making DLC work better with it should be a pretty high priority I think, as well as increasing FFB detail and tarmac physics, and perhaps most important, better optimization.

I play on a Series X and hadn't run into bad framerates but maybe once or twice (I was a little late to the game though so maybe missed early game issues), but after Le Maestros I've run into framerate issues many times, including on the new stage Umea, but it is kinda inconsistent.

I tried Umea first with the Escort, ran fine. Tried again with Hyundai, and after the tunnel got noticeably lower framerate. Tried again with the Opel, same thing. Switched back to the Escort, fine again. Tried with the new Focus, bad framerate again. Tried in the McRae R4 and was fine again. All in default morning, clear conditions, using cockpit view, always starts a little after the jump after the tunnel. For science, I also tried it in the night with the Clio R3 and Hyundai again, and no framerate issues.

Also experienced it recently at Greece, Corsica and Mexico, and I really don't play much outside of whatever the 3 clubs I'm in are doing, but hoping I don't run into it too much more. I know optimization was a big talking point early days for the game but if it can't be resolved with this title one would hope that it could be learned from for a new title.

I'd much prefer them to keep improving the current game and adding more content to it. New game releases are a total lottery these days in terms of performance etc and I'd rather keep all the content we have now and build on it, rather than have a reset where we lose a load of it due to time or licensing reasons.

Didn't know that could be adjusted as haven't really played around with setup options.

Thanks, will give this a go, definitely willing to get better at it with a wheel 👍
