So, I guess you guys aren't fans of Hitman 2016 then.

The business model is disgusting. Imagine buying a car, but the wheels for it will only become available to you one at a time over the course of several months. It baffles me that people just accept these things.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Soon, publishers will start charging extra for the final chapters in games. The content will even be on the disc sometimes, but you'll have to pay extra if you want to use it.

I just bought the Digital Version on PS4 Pro (56GB) approx

I must say I am really enjoying it so far (I did read all the negative reviews! but the MT has never put me off as I do not buy them only DLC I want to buy ) I never got round to the first Battlefront Star wars game but I bought this as I enjoyed the Films and Dices Battlefield1. It is very good so far, the beautiful graphics, lighting and detail with 4k with enhanced PS4 Pro graphics. I am already addicted to the 'Arcade' mode and the offline campaign is a nice addition. I really like the droid that flies on your back that gives shocks to the enemy and unlocks doors for you.

There has been a new update this morning for bugs and fixes.

I will say it is very addictive as there are so many MP games for the rookie! and it is fun and enjoyable for the beginner (like me)

I took some screenshots so will post up later.👍

I must admit that I too crumbled this morning and ordered it from Amazon. I won't be bothering with the MT's as I accept the fact that I'm pretty poor at MP shooters (53 year olds slow reflexes lol) and know I'm usually going to get more deaths than kills so I don't feel any pressure to get all the upgrades

I was waiting on my purchase of this game, many of my friends pre-ordered. And I'm glad I waited. The first Battlefront game that EA made in 2015 was insanely rushed, they had just a handful of months to make a full game practically from scratch, so naturally it was a disaster. But even then EA's microtransaction love didn't make an appearance in the game. Because of the issues with the first Battlefront, I was going to wait until I saw a decent product from II. I'm now glad that I haven't and will not be purchasing the game. It's a shame, because I love Star Wars. But my dislike for EA and their business model is even larger.

Well, have fun with the credits being locked behind timers like a mobile phone "game."

I hope you understand that EA literally designed this game to addict you and that you're still in the "this is awesome and so much fun" stage before they turn it all off and hit you with the grind. The grind that is designed to entice you into paying for loot boxes.

TL;DR version: Belgium Justice Department declared lootboxes (with a random element) to be gambling, pushing for a ban in the entire EU.

Well done EA, you're now under the magnifying glass from multiple governments, EU following and I'm sure Disney is going to love this too!
You can easily imagine Disney being upset and angry in the past couple of weeks. Now? They are going to be absolutely LIVID

All the developers who at least try to be tactful with their loot boxes are probably pretty upset with EA, as well. I never liked the system, but I kind of expected EA to be the one responsible for creating final straw.

I've actually been quite enjoying the game, the campaign is fun and plays well, and you can actually change the controls to make starships pitch and roll like they should on the left stick. Multiplayer is pretty fun as well, I love using the supercharged sentry.:mischievous:

I don't know why, but there's something that's always funny about watching multiple heavies going HAM with their Gatling guns on one objective. If DICE gave them a war cry or scream while firing (think of Battlefield 1's bayonet charge), I'd probably die of laughter.

I love this game. From the crazy controversy with EA to the graphics and gameplay. So much entertainment....

I was not able to go pick up my pre-order for multiple days.. but got lucky when I finally did. I had just ordered the base edition and got a $10 off coupon. I have GCU at Best Buy and also had a $5 certificate. When I got to the counter to pick it up the lady handed me the deluxe edition. So I ended up getting the Deluxe version for $35 which just sweetened the pot.

It has it's issues but the experience as a whole for me has been awesome.

Finished the Resurrection campaign earlier today. Current mood:

Got it for $40 in Origin. So far I think it is a beautiful game. Graphics, sound, controls, optimization are pretty damn good. Sadly surrounded by controversy and obviously limited in favor of profit. I'm taking it slowly with campaign. So far it's been fun, except for the fact that the story feels VERY rushed. It could've been a bit better if they added more depth, extending it a few more hours. Five hours (as I've heard it lasted) is a bit unforgivable for a story mode.

Arcade is a blast. I can't complain. And since I don't give a flip about multiplayer, I feel like my $40 were well spent.

I have also been on and off this game taking the campaign slowly and exploring as much as I can. I am now about 3 missions from the end before I get to try the new Free DLC Resurrection short add-on. .... Wow, I was impressed at the start, but the maps and graphics just keep getting better.

I wasn't sure on picking this up at first at full price, but it has been a nice surprise for me and I feel I have got good value. I have enjoyed all the battles, the arcade, and the ease of use. For me I can pick up and play for an hour and all the characters and map instructions and the campaign are clear. The MT & loot boxes I have not used and they have not been too intrusive (better than quite a few other games).

This surprise game is now one of my Favourite games to play and the PS4 Pro enhanced graphics of the Star Wars Planets and Worlds are stunning and a little better even than BF1.

Now if only they added a Photo Mode or Spectator mode like BF1.

Big bump because this game has become a regular thing for me (and because @dylpro).

Like GT Sport, I find BF2 a good game to jump in for a match or two. Unlike that game though, there seems to be little in the way of match balancing, resulting in a lot of blowouts, which are unfun no matter which side you're on. That's compounded by the recent glitch with the Heavy's DC15-LE; with the exploding shot it practically breaks the game. I saw a team with the top 12 players all using it.

That said, I had probably my best match at Takodana the other night, at least from a stats angle:

I tend to stick to the Officer for the BP advantage (and I like the SE44 a lot). Bossk is easily my favourite hero since he suits my play style, but I'll switch it up with Maul every once in a while. Hero side is harder; Yoda is good (even better after the last update), but I've had some tremendous luck with Finn and holding onto areas like stage two at Jakku almost single-handedly.

Speaking of, that map isn't very good, but what makes it even worse are the teammates that wait behind the target zone when on defence. Why?!

Yup it’s been my staple for the past couple weeks now. I’m hoping that DC glitch gets patched soon because it’s pretty frustrating. Not unbeatable, but you’re at a huge disadvantage if you don’t get the first few shots to land effectively. Reminds me of the DH-17 w/ explosive shot from BF2K15 or to an extent the DL-44.

I’ve never been good at the big game modes. Awful at them actually:lol: I’ve been sticking with Strike or Blast and also with the Officer class as my main. You said the specialist class last fun is awesome so I’ve been trying to grind it out but that class can be infuriating

Still miss my Cargo matches from the previous game, but even with strike being 16 players it forces me to engage in the larger game mode style. Maybe some day I’ll graduate to Galactic Assault:nervous:

One thing I like for this game is not showing your stats, especially K/D or Win% because as someone who would try bolstering those in BF2k15, it’s much better for making people take priority in playing the objective rather than focusing on kills.

And I hate Endor on Strike. The extraction leads through one massive garage door exit that is the only way out and makes for just a huge choke point. Amplified by heavys with the DC15 and there’s almost no way out if the imperials are even half way decent. Extremely frustrating.

At this point I am just waiting for this game to be updated with the new system and sew how it goes, I played a good amount of each class and got my fill early on. When the next DLC lands I will jump on to play the single player part because Star Wars!

Head to GA for grinding the Specialist. Levels are longer, and places like Hoth and Starkiller are tailor-made for sniping. You'll be able to build a lot more than in the enclosed Strike maps.

I'd like to think so, but judging by the amount of people that just go rushing ahead, the message about objectives doesn't seem to be sinking in.

I played a round of GA at Kamino last night. I had got up to grab a drink before the start of the match, and came back to see we had already lost 25 tickets in the span of two minutes. People were just lining up like lemmings at the choke points. Pure madness.

I don't think I've played Endor on Strike, I always seem to get stuck on Hoth. Sounds like the second round of Theed in GA: the corridors get completely locked down by the Republic if there's some Wookiees and heavies in there. Pair them with Yoda and they're practically unstoppable.

*Casts Revive*

A year on from release, this is a much different game than the one that launched. Progression is actually pretty standard now, and while there are still plenty of weird little glitches, the recent Geonosis update is simply awesome:

It's a huge map, and it does what few of the maps do in the rest of the game: actually give a sense of a large-scale war. During my first play as the clones, I let out a genuine "holy ****" when I got to the ridge at the start of the second phase, and saw everything sprawling out in front of me. There's no choke points: you just pick your own strategy.

Considering how cheap it is these days, I'd certainly recommend it to Star Wars fans. It's still sad what EA did to the game at launch, but it seems the team is dedicated to improving it over the long term.

Thanks for this ^^ @SlipZtrEm Being on PC now as well I picked this up again in the sale when it was on few weeks ago. The benefit being you get a fantastic Photo Capture mode on PC NVIDIA GTX So I have taken advantage and with the texture and shadows raised high it looks amazing. I do still really like this game.

@torque99 - That's one thing that's so badly missing on consoles. This game looks incredible, and I'd argue the sounds are also very, very good. Some sort of photo mode to take advantage of the former would help it immensely IMO.

Necro because it's free from Epic this week.

Honestly, it's a remarkable amount of fun for the grand price of free. Anyone who hasn't played it probably should.
