VGChartz ArticleThe enormously anticipated Gran Turismo 5 opened to some huge sales on PS3 this week. In just two days on the market in the Americas and EMEAA and one day in Japan, VGChartz estimates that over 1.8 million copies of the game were sold.
There's not much to discuss, VGChartz is known for just making up numbers. They have no access to any insider charts.
In 2 days?Mhh I think more than 1.8 millions...
The first hint of good news we get and you lot blast it down. The reviews were lower than expected, the forum is in uproar, now an article suggest GT5's sales might put it in the top five openings of all time and you're still not happy!

It's not about being happy, it's about the credibility of the site. We all know GT5 will sell well, but VGChartz is not a site that prizes itself on accuracy. Believe me, I have an account there. They may say it sold 1.8 million in two days, but in one month when PD or Sony releases shipped numbers they will adjust their numbers to reflect the more accurate numbers from the companies who actually know the numbers. VGChartz is not accurate and full of flaws. Is is a place to get a good idea of how much the game is selling, sure. But, if you want accurate numbers, don't cite VGC.
I don't know why people care about sales numbers... they say little of the qulity of the game - especially early ones which really tell you more how well marketing and hype worked than anything.
