ECCI force feedback wheel

ECCI produces high end wheel/pedal units. The problem with their wheels was the lack of FFB.
At last, they developed a FFB wheel. The first review(s) seem(s) says that this is the best FFB wheel at the moment. For around $2799, not $2599 like the article said, you can have the new ECCI force feedback wheel.

Pretty awesome, but I think i'd rather buy a car with my $2,600.

Edit: Obviously though, a wheel like this is not aimed for those who would/could only spend $2,600 on an automobile, or at least I would think that to be the case.

Now that is sexy! I hope it's more finished than the Frex and offers a smart and efficient way to adjust degrees of rotation. Given the pedigree, I'm willing to bet the steering is buttery smooth. Any word on whether FLDS is available with the FFB wheel?

It looks overbuilt, like all of ECCI's products. I also like that the belts appear to be readily accessible and easy to service.

Here's an article of the new ECCI 7000 FFB Wheel System. Thing looks like a beast. From an email i got from ECCI the wheel is 900 degrees, can't be changed, and costs $2799.00 not the $2599.00 it says in the article. Looks like a nice system, expensive but having owned an ECCI Wheel in the past, and still using their 3 pedal set this wheel will last you a long time. They build their products like tanks. I'm sure it feels phenomenal.

I'm with this guy... by the time you buy that, your 2500 dollar seat and your 1000 dollar tv you'd be better off with a real car and a pass to some race track near you...

There are serious ongoing costs involved with running a track dog. Not the least of which is the potential risk of life and limb.

ECCI wheels are serious, high end, heavy duty, sim racing tools, not toys. And they're priced accordingly. If you want the best, you have to pay for it. If you're on a budget, there are still great wheels at the $300 and under mark.

It may be designed mostly for simulators, but that doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed with arcade games as well. I am an avid arcade racing fan and play them religiously. I am one of the few racing game fans that enjoy arcade and sim equally, and would still rather play them on a high end FFB wheel.

Remember....force feedback started in the arcades and was INVENTED by Sega back in the 80's, and was utilized first on a game called OutRun, and then later in Virtua Racing. FFB has a long history and anyone who thinks it started off in PC sims is mistaken. The thought of trying to tame the Hornet from Daytona USA with that ECCI FFB wheel has me foaming at the mouth!

No! Why feed such high end wheel to such a shabby console where the GT is hold in high regard as a sim
It would be nice though but playing GT 5 with such a wheel I would just be more depressed of how bad the physics are. It´s neither fun nor realistic.

However is it´s better then the Frex Simwheel or?

I would never be able to afford one of those wheels so I'm just happy that I'm getting the GT3RS in the mail. I would not consider it because it's not PS3 compatible(I want a wheel for everything that I own, PS3 and the PC).

I could afford it but I couldn´t justify for myself to afford it. To be very clear I admire those that are that dedicated. I have no speak anyway sitting in a Nixim RaceCraft GT...

It depends on who you are. I find when you stick to the budget setups they always have glaring fault and you easilly get caught in an upgrade spiral. Doesn´t always get cheaper then buying the super wheel instantly that you use for years and at the same time is superior to the lesser gear.

Nowadays I am more into music and HIFI and boy is it easy to burn money there

What do you use the ECCI for other than Daytona?

Practically everything man. I love arcade racers but I also like sims as well. GTR EVO is cool...put some time into that. I've played and completed GT Legends also. Probably gonna get GPL setup with some mods when I get the chance.

But in all honestly, my first love is arcade racers. Daytona, Ridge racer, Trackmania, OutRun 2006, Sega Rally, etc. All great great games. I just love racing games, period. Much more than any other genre.

I say that because, driving games, unlike First Person Shooter's or Online Role Playing games, which can be played to their full potential with just a standard Computer keyboad and mouse, the driving game needs a wheel to see the full potential of just how much fun and addictive these driving games can be.

There is no 100% true simulator, so its pointless getting such expensive wheel.
Most money I would ever spend is 400 bucks on a wheel with pedals and shifter. Sure that 400 dollar wheel might be 1/3 of the wheel but the price is much lower, and it will still give me same lap times.
