EgyptAir MS804 Incident

From what I heard on the news they now have the general idea of the location because of the pings and have requested the sub carrying ship be sent from France to home in on the location underwater. Getting there will take it about a week whereas I think anchoring it in the Med all this time would have been a better move.

It would definitely have made recovery quicker - that said, if the ship has work to do elsewhere then I guess that's what it has to do. A business is a business - it could have moored in Alexandria with no work for three months.

Pings are hit and miss.
MH370 had pings yet they were here then they were there.
And we still have not found it.

I'd hope the article is not saying "it's wrong to pick him up as the would-be US president, no matter whether could he be right in what he said about the EgyptAir disaster." ...

Why didn't you just read the article? You'd have been far better prepared... and he is a would-be US president, even the Washington Post wouldn't try to deny that.

As awful as the headline is it's based on these thoughts about his Twitting;

Washington Post
"Airplane departed from Paris," Trump wrote. "When will we get tough, smart and vigilant? Great hate and sickness!" Here's what he was inferring:

1. Because the flight left from Paris, the terrorist plotters probably came from there.

2. This clearly means there were security lapses in Europe. What do we need to be tough and vigilant about? Perhaps the Muslims in our midst, as Trump similarly stressed in the wake of November's Paris attacks and the terrorist spree in Brussels in March. He used those attacks to both inveigh against accepting Syrian refugees and to champion the use of torture and racial profiling.

3. The "hate and sickness" Trump refers to is his now-longstanding diagnosis of what he sees ailing Islam and the Muslim world. (WorldViews has taken his rhetoric to task repeatedly, such as here and here.)

At a moment when panicked families were rushing to find more information from authorities, Trump thought it appropriate to trot out his campaign talking points.

Oops dude, I tried to read the article when I first saw the previous post via my phone but somehow it didn't load the article and only showed the headline - gave it a try just now on PC and finally I could do so.

About his tweets as to the EgyptAir crash, assuming that the airplane crash was caused by some of the terrorist plotters affiliated with ISIL or other extremist groups rather than mechanical trouble this can possibly only strengthen the abhorrence toward muslims as a whole among citizens in the US and European nations, not to mention about Trump himself who had been strongly against them all along - which isn't gonna be a good thing. :scared:

BBC
Wreckage of the EgyptAir flight that went missing over the Mediterranean last month has been found, Egyptian investigators say.

A statement said "several main locations of the wreckage" had been identified.

A deep sea search vessel had also sent back the first images of the wreckage, the statement added.

I hope that the egyptian investigators don't get access to the data recorders.
Last thing we need is a cover up of another rouge pilot.

All the bodies mapped at the crash site have been recovered. The recovery vessel will sail to Alexandria with the remains and then return to the crash site to search for more. BBC.
