:(

It used to be my favorite among PD's original tracks. Trying to keep it flat through the first kink into the 180, the insanely bumpy hill after the tunnel, the southernmost corner which threatened to throw you into the bridge wall, the undulating kink into the last sweeper.

I would commit serious crimes to get this track back in GT5 as DLC.

I can only imagine how the hill after the tunnel, and the last corner would be flat-out in the X1:drool:

Love how GT4 has better quality shadows than GT5. :grumpy:

Wow, it's insane how quickly that loads. You could start and finish a race in GT2 before one finished loading in GT5.

Mainly because the graphics of GT5 take a while to load, compared to GT1-4 combined.

I'd take slightly lower quality graphics for more tracks and more racing events.

El Captian was my favorite track in GT4 and I was over the moon when I saw it in the GTPSP and TGS trailers but gutted when I found out it didn't get into the GT5 :(

It's my favorite track in GT4 as well, but I think the layout of the second half of it could be tweaked to make it more interesting. There's room for improvement there.

Still, great scenery and tons of fun to drive with cars of almost any class.
Those are what make GT-original tracks so much fun.

I just can't understand why they dropped such great tracks and kept ones like Trial Mountain and Deep Forest.

Deep Forest, Grand Valley, and Trial Mountain are the quintessential GT tracks. They've been in each game, and it would be stupid for PD not to include them.

Also, bring back:
Special Stage Route 11
Midfield Raceway
El Capitan
Rome/Rome Night (not the crappy square we have now)
Swiss Alps
Smokey Mountain
Red Rock Valley
Grindelwald
Complex String
Seattle Circuit

The omission of many favorite tracks from GT4 is especially disappointing given confirmation from an interview with PD (I think Kaz himself) prior to the release of GT5 that all GT4 tracks would be in GT5.

PD may well monitor the GTP forums but they don't seem respond to many of the requests much less act upon them. Instead we get remote B-Spec racing and other features that few care about.

Oh well, perhaps GT6 will be the game we really want. Time will tell if PD starts listening closing to their customers and delivering the requested features and content.

Others where my favorite, but I got to admit that El Capitan was the most relaxing and beautifuly detailed PD track ever... In my case, I guess you don´t miss something until you loose it...

This was my last GT4 session, last year. I remember getting GT5 a few days later... Ahh... the good old days...

Wait, PD said that all tracks from GT4 would be in GT5? What's the source?

With a portion of the Red Bull video at El Capitan, this may be a hint that there will be DLC...

Man, looking back there was a few tracks I miss.

Twin Ring Motegi
Tahiti Rally Courses
Amalfi Coast

But I gotta say my favorite track of all time has got to be Seattle Circuit. Every GT had it and it was always the proving ground of American Muscle.

RIP those awesome jumps.

PS. ORIGINAL ROME.

Yes I was very disappointed when I saw that in GT5 we don't have track like El capitan, grand canyon, Midfild and Seattle :( Hope for GT6
And Spa give as SPA!!!!

I want all of those back, plus Apricot Hill and The TEST TRACK!. Wasn't that 4-5 mile oval track for top speed/drag speed testing in every single game except this one?

GT6 my butt!! Give us back our MUTHA EFFIN tracks now! I am the biggest apologist for GT5 in all other aspects except for the track issue.

GT5 track selection sucks monkey pole hard. Take Cape Ring and all the 7 or 8 variations, select all and hit the delete button. If they didn't all fit on the disc, fine.....guess what Kaz......the PS3 can download from the internet.

I really think that PD took a poll and found out what the people's favorite tracks were and then ripped those out. They must be holding them for ransom for DLC.

I know it's just a measly $60 but if PD doesn't give us back at least 1 or 2 of the old tracks to use in GT5, this will be my last GT. I can deal with crap shadows, sparse A-Spec, ridiculous B-spec, 800+/- GT4 cars, atrocious online, retarded AI, now useless licensing, goofy level system, grindfest credit system and terrible sounds except for the 787B but the tracks are deplorable. I can only hot lap the Ring and Le Mans for so long.

This.

Though, I would just take out only the Cape Ring North/South (main, inside and outside are actually pretty good), the God-Awful new Rome track in favor of old Rome and Rome Night, AND (for the Dirt/Snow section only) the pointless Eiger Nordwand Rally and New Chamonix variations in favor of Old Chamonix, Tahiti Dirt Route 3 and Maze, Grand Canyon, Ice Arena, AND PIKES PEAK!

We all have a point here, PD and Kaz.

On another note, I just want to take a scenic drive with my VW Bus/Go-Kart in cockpit view in these courses:
1. Costa di Amalfi
2. Citta di Aria
3. Midfield Raceway
4. Special Stage Route 11
5. Complex String
6. Hong Kong
7. Opera Paris
8. George V Paris
9. Grindelwald
10. Tahiti Road
11. Old Rome Circuit
12. Rome Night
Wouldn't that be lots of fun?

El Capitan used to be my secondary test track after the Nurburgring, so I do miss it. I also miss many of the other original tracks that were in past GT games, but El Capitan was probably the most enjoyable one, especially with the downhill section after the tunnel.

Other tracks I really want to see are Apricot Hill and Seattle, but i'd be happy to see any other original tracks make a comeback.

By far my favorite way to pass the time in GT4 was to hotlap costa di amalfi and citti di aria in all the various FF drive cars, the Focus and the Alfas tore it up.

My final play-sessions of GT4 consisted almost entirely of doing this with friends beating each others times...

My biggest disappointment by far was the absence of these tracks and really any track even similar to them.

Come to think of it there are really no tracks in the game that are actually fun to race in a FF... 👎

I agree. After having played GT1,2,3,4, and loved them all, I would have pre-ordered GT5 sight unseen. But I don't think I'll consider purchasing GT6 until after the release date when the community (e.g., GT Planet) has formed an opinion.

On another note, does anyone notice how the France event only consists of Circuit de la Sarthe and Madrid? What a waste to not include Opera Paris! :grumpy:

Talk about waste. What about the Muscle Car championship? Only one track? Monza? That has nothing to do with US Muscle cars! They didn´t even mind to put Laguna Seca, Daytona or Indy!! What´s wrong with PD?
