If you are playing ED on PS4 then the Cobra MKIV has not been added. It may or may not be added in the future, there has been no official word from FDEV yet.

Wow didn't know it was missing. That's cruddy.

We're all going to die.....

This trailer is so sick though, very well done

2.4 part 1 release date, Sept 26th, 2017, the space Armageddon begins.

More hints that the Type-10 (a new ship) is coming during the livestream, no teasers were shown (yet)

It begins, Commanders, prepare yourself.

If you want to see Aliens, head to Asterope and look for USS signals, it'll say Non-human or something like that.

Obsidian Ant showed some of them off in a recent vid.

Looks like they scan your ship and it seems like if you have nothing they want they will leave you alone, however they have been spotted tractoring cargo from damaged ships.

Found a bug last evening. I arrived in a system for a data mission and saw that the platform I had to land on orbited a gas giant with a nice ring. Great chance for photos I thought. Wrong. As soon as I dropped out of system cruise into real the ring disappeared completely.

I then went to two more systems which also had ring planets close a hand. In both cases the ring is visible even once I've hit triangle for safe exit, but the moment you drop into real it disappears. It was getting late so I'll try again later today.

That's on PS4 pro. Has anybody else seen that?

Haven't played since before the update, you should report the bug to the Forums. Been trying to play but I bought Skyrim SE and it's had a virtual death grip on my limited gaming time. I can't even managed to play Forza 6 or H3. I remember not playing anything else 5 years ago when I played it on the 360. Hopefully I'll manage to get some time with Elite this weekend so I can see the Bugs up close, the Thargoid kind not the other....

Anyone willing to help me out with the multi crew trophy on PS4? I need to shoot something from someone else ship and each time I have tied MC lately I can't find any ships available.

Fired up ED last night to check this out, it was so intense, especially for a non-combat mission! Several Star Ports have been attacked by Thargoids and partially disabled. Emergency transports are needed to get people off the stations and ferried over to the waiting rescue ships. I brought my Dolphin since it's the only passenger ship I have, changed my first class cabin to Economy and added another smaller economy cabin, was able to save 19 people off the burning station. It's a great idea to bring Heat Sinks and pop on off right after you enter the station and another right as you're leaving. Look at the passenger missions to get evacuees.

Message from Fdevs:

Commanders, we need your help! Thargoids have attacked stations around the Pleiades and there are thousands of stranded civilians! Any available ships, head to The Oracle (Pleiades Sector IR-W D1-55), Titan's Daughter (Taygeta) and Liman Legacy (HIP 16753) and save them. Please.

Found some videos (not mine)

And here is the station I went to (not mine)

Just got to Duke rank in Imperial. Thought about the Cutter. Decided against it on cost for now. Considering the Type 10 due to more Thargoid threats. Sleep first though.

Update. I bought the Cutter after all. It's big and bus like of course. I quite like the handling (D grade with a A FSD) but I bought it for big cargo deliveries and that it excels at. It is about a million times easier to get though the post box that the Beluga I had a while ago was.

I've had to equip it with weapons though. It is very slow to respond when interdicted and it's only a matter of time before I lose one. I will boost, boost and jump by choice but if I can't it I'll be able to hit back quite hard.

Yuck. Bought the Cutter. A grade FSD and D everything else on the first day with 720 tons of cargo. Dropped 7200 tons into the CG that's the one with 205,000 light seconds from the jump in point on the second day (top 10% in one session ) and then on the third day I left Solo Orbiter (my home port) boosted twice and then started thinking about what I'd found out about the ship the previous two days. Went back to the station and sold it and got back in my Python.

I didn't mind how it handled in normal space (big bus on ice) but I did mind how completely slow to do anything in super cruise. It is not funny getting interdicted by AI and the contest (won in seconds in either Dolphin or Python) takes over a minute with the escape icon moving way faster than my sodding ship trying to catch it. Gerr. :banghead:

I loved it ability to deliver the tons I just couldn't put up with super cruise. Still it did earn me 65 million including the 20% hit I took on selling it.

On my way to Hutton Orbital for the first time. Good job I've got a book to read. Only 0.17 of a light year to go.

It's hard to beat the Python, that ship is great at everything.
You are not kidding. It takes a T9 to out deliver it with cargo but loses out on planform landing and never fails to put my in the top 10% on trade cg's, out passengers the Orca and can look after itself in a fight. Not at all bad really.

Beta on the 25th of January for PC and Mac.

Two video's on YouTube and another one next Tuesday.

So far it's looking like the best update to the game since it was first released.

Especially the trading and planetary improvements.
The Chieftain looks cool too, but I'm not a fan of the canopy design.
At least it's symetrical. I tend to stick to the imperial and passenger ships for cockpit reasons.

I'm a bit yes and no on this one. Better for upgrading fair enough but having to start from G1 for every module you want to engineer I don't like.

I also dislike the upcoming changes to engineering.
The interface looks a lot cleaner now, which is a very good enhancement, as well as the possibility to pin a blueprint and continue the engineering of the component outside of the engineer's workshop. But they should not have changed the underlying mechanics imho.
The current system allows for a lot of variety, and you're always hoping for a god-roll outcome that no one else would have. Now it becomes a lot more linear, and everyone will just end up with exactly the same modules apart from the experimental effect.
It will be less of a grind in duration, but the grind will become a lot more tedious because they eliminate the excitement factor. It makes engineering just another chore, instead of a playground.
With the addition of a materials broker, they'd already get rid of a big portion of the current annoyances of collecting the right materials, so I still don't see why they had to touch the engineering mechanics too.

I liked everything else in the stream yesterday. Galnet Audio, additional ship voices,... Apart from the engineering stuff, I'm really looking forward to the update.

Thanks for the updates guys, I really need to starting playing Elite again. I've been over in Nintendo Switch land since Christmas. The update sounds good for the most part, it sounds like we'll have to accept some bad with the good.
