Elite License Test Standards

I have created more advanced standards in the GT5 license tests using actual data from actual players. I used the data from the Torc Gold Junkies.

This should be helpful because no one wants to work a license test if they think they're close to the limit. But if the elite gold time is, for example, is three tenths faster than their best time, they may still plug away.

I used a script to create the standards. They are all faster than the Gold time in GT5.

Platinum - top 5%
Gold - top 10%
Silver - top 20%
Bronze - top 40%

Note: The license tests where you race other cars did not have many entries (presumably they have to be hand timed). So I also set a minimum place for each standard. They are rank 7,5,3, and 2 for Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum respectively. The regular timed tests had 60 to 160 submitted times, so this was not an issue for them.

I hope this is useful. I also hope the formatting is ok - I did this on my phone!

Edit: various changes for clarity

Tenths= .1

You're telling that "Elite gold or Platinum" is 3 tenths better that the Gold time so instead of

B-01 0:13.266 0:13.212 0:13.174 0:13.136

it should be

B-01 0:13.266 0:13.212 0:13.174 0:12.874

Interesting information though

Edit: Are those the actual license times or the time you got?

Hiya AGHG,

Thanks for your comments. Let me answer your concerns in reverse order. The standards are based on actual times of actual players. Namely, those who submitted their gold medal times to the Torc Gold Junkies website. An elite Gold, for example, will put you in the top 10% of Torc Gold Junkies.

I did not just subtract an arbitrary time like three tenths from the gold standard. In some tests, like B-01, three tenths puts you in alien territory. In other tests, three tenths is doable for us mortals. In fact, that is what makes these elite standards so useful - they give you an achievable goal.

Edit: thanks again for the comments. I've edited the OP to make it more understandable.

Good info and cool timing for me. I just got a wheel and I'm basically starting from scratch on a new account (GTP_crowhop7 in hopes of eventually qualifying for the WRS).

Previously with the stick I was able to get all golds, but I'm finding the wheel to be bit trickier. But practice should remedy that as I hope to be bettering my previous times as the wheel, peddles and paddles become more and more second nature. So this list will give me something fun to shoot at.
