I love how all the splinter cults of Christianity turn their noses up at Catholics. The Roman Catholic Church is Christianity in its original form. All other variations are derived from it. They decided something about it was too stringent, to inconvenient, to politically incorrect, and decided to start their own religion, as if their version of what Jesus taught is "better".

Today, Christianity is nothing more than self-help for the masses. When the going gets tough, blame it on god's mysterious plan or call it the apocalypse.

Weak.

Yeah,,.. it's funny,.. Christian Reformed are somewhere along the lines of 4th or 5th branch down from Catholosism,... and in 50 years they'll be the biggest

I was speaking in very general terms. Obviously not every person thinks that the world is ending and that life sucks and then (or, until) you die.

If you don't think I take my beliefs seriously, then you haven't read much of what I've posted on this board.

Like I said earlier, the number of people who believe something has no bearing on whether it is a fact or not. You need to reconsider the real meaning of the word fact. I'll take it as given that you've already considered your faith, which isn't the question. But to claim it as an incontrovertible fact is wrong.

Not just wrong for me, wrong. Remember that real truth does not change depending on the frame of reference.

I didn't say anything about your beliefs. I was commenting on your comment that people take their beliefs too seriously. Did you forget you said that?

You don't get it and I doubt you ever will. I am positive that God speaks the truth. Therfore it is fact to me. You don't believe in God so to you he or anything he is reported to say is fiction.

Don't worry about it.

Because it's easy it's useless? Is that some kind of divine rule?
No. But it achieves nothing. And like a kid stops sucking his thumb eventually, humans will stop needing gods, and never look back.

when did we ever need god? gods were created in people minds to explain thing that happen in nature that they couldn't explain.

Then they never had a concept of God or a relationship with him.

Are we going to have the same arguement we had a few months ago?

The hebrews needed re-assurance that their egyption captors would suffer a consiquence for the unjust things they did.

So,... they created god,.. for closure.

Ok... You are not going to believe so arguing wont help convince you. Time to shake off the dust from my shoes and move on to another topic.

So then you can tell us conclusively that god is a man and describe his voice. Do share.

Nuh uh. Don't you know the history of your religion? In all its treachery and bloodiness?

Don't you know the history of the whole human race? In all it's treachery and bloodiness?

The fact is that we don't know. How do we know that halflives are constant? how do we know that over just 10 years that it's a constant rate? how do we know that Good didn't just make it so that the closer you got to the core the older rocks looked? You see? there are too many uncertainties to be sure of anything.

Don't own sandles..Sorry.

But it does apply. No purpose in trying to reason with people who are unwilling to listen but only condemn.
