I'm sure it will be a good series but like I mentioned in the thread, I just don't think I would enjoy the series as both the test races were a struggle for me, car is very unforgiving!

I thought you mentioned you thought it was Sunday? I thought it was Monday!?!

Really enjoy the GT300s tho, and quite like endurance racing, taken part in a couple 2/3 hore Nurb races which are a real challenge but pretty rewarding.

Oh and just seen your in Newport, just across the bridge from me then :)

i think i'll end up dropping the megane serie. the car it's just not fun at all

Indeed the second test race is Monday January 13th, am I right karsten?

Would be cool to race the green hell with this GT300 cars during the season :)
 
I'll be about tonight if anybody is about.

I know some people are running in multiple series so will probably be practicing for that but I'll be running these.
 
Depends how much you've used a wheel I guess, overall it's faster but not if your jumping straight from a DS3 to a Wheel (imo)

Might be better on tires tho, as you'd probably be more smooth
 
I'm hoping get a wheel soon, i hate the play station controller, the only thing I prefer over Xbox ATM is the controller!
 
Yeah I have a wheel, took a whole to get used to but overall I am faster (not by much tho) but I use MT now aswell as I struggled to use manual on the DS3

Does make the whole experience better tho!

Great little session tonight, ran laps at Motegie/Brands and Le Sarth 2009 night racing with rain, very enjoyable!

Heads up tho everybody make sure you buy inters and full wets! I won the race then was hit with a 100s time pen as I didn't go to wets (I didn't own them) finished 4th after that! Haha
 
yes its great , sorry i was slow at kicking out the joiners , i really am still learning my way around online with this PS.
Also i didnt want to kick off legitimates , and i dont know is and whop isnt, and to be honest by the time i have worked out how to kick them they have already left .
How do you stop joiners in the races, is there no password etc to the race room.
Just watched the replay , again a first for me, very exiting, wet dark and all a bit twitchy.
I gotta get as much practice in as poss as i am struggling to get a rythem , i did have it for a while at brands and was going well but the car does slide a lot and really have to be careful with my trigger finger, as that really gets the oversteer going , but yes more practice , stop you lot from lapping me Lol,

Can you explain this to me? You got a penalty because you did not used wets or because you did not pit and it was mandatory? How the game can decide when you have to use wets or not? I'm puzzled :confused:
 
Great race indeed yestersay. That's exactly what I need to practise: driving among a bunch of cars and stay on the track & not crash. :-D

Stephen: exactly, you need to practice working with throttle when coming out of the corner. I watched in my rear view mirror and your back end was dancing a lot. ;-) As for the moron-joiners: add people from here as your PSN friends and make the room friends-only. ;-)

The mandatory compound change was a surprise for me too. I started on inters and had to go to full wets last lap. If I knew, I'd start on RS 1st lap and changed to inters later. :-)

Btw. I'll be practising friday evening and during the dayon saturday, so you might look for my room called GT300 test. ;-)

I set up a 5 lap race on Le Sarthe with a mandatory put stop, I started on RS as surface water started at 1% so rain tires were not needed, I pitted after lap 4 but the tire choice option never came up as I didn't own inters/wets so the pit crew just fitted another set if RS tires but buy this time I really needed inter.

I managed to finish 1st (just) but when I crossed the line it said I never completed a mandatory stop so was given a 100s penalty.

Basically I thinking of it's raining or there is surface water you need to run inters/full wets at some point in the race (if mandatory pit is selected)

It's ok, there was just loads of them and when they select over powered cars the personal best time is invalid so we have nothing to compare ourself with. Originally I set the room as public as you were not on my PSN so wouldn't be able to join, when I left to change my oil you became host!

From now on I'll just do friends only as I have most of you guys on my PSN now anyway.

You were improving tho, great time on BrandsHatch I kept kept close but couldn't beat it!
