I managed to finish 1st (just) but when I crossed the line it said I never completed a mandatory stop so was given a 100s penalty.

But you got a penalty for not changing tyre compound? because you did a pit stop last lap although you putted RS again...

The tire compound change was a mistake priesty made while setting up room, not a serie rule

It's ok, there was just loads of them and when they select over powered cars the personal best time is invalid so we have nothing to compare ourself with. Originally I set the room as public as you were not on my PSN so wouldn't be able to join, when I left to change my oil you became host!

From now on I'll just do friends only as I have most of you guys on my PSN now anyway.

You were improving tho, great time on BrandsHatch I kept kept close but couldn't beat it!

yes , managed to get in a rythm going for the first time yesterday at brands , and to be honest i think my problem for being too slow started as when i started playing gt6 i had no aids or no ABS on so braking for me was really gentle and had to really feel the tyres bite before i could brake hard then turn in , now with abs on , it seems i was still braking too gently and often would be slower than required at the apex so i ended up flooring the throttle at apex to make up for it and was having problems with oversteer exiting corners , with the abs on you can really steam into bends and not worry about locking the fronts , so i am getting it now, and fining the rythm so good.
Also the autobacs at brands is quite loose and once you get used to it it is so well balanced , but you really have to carry corner speed to get a balanced slight drift then control the throttle for steering, especially at brands as there are quite a lot of high speed corners on the gp circuit we ran yesterday .
But im loving it now.
painted the car a nice gawdy luminouse green yesterday and stuck number 16 on it so im well happy .

I know that season one is not started yet, but for season 2 would you guys be interested in a wider car selection (always following gt300 rules)? After all in the serie run some lambo, gtr, ferraris, crz etc etc

Also would a success penalty like in the real JTGC be appropriate?

i have a question, in long races do you all always run softest options ? or do people run mediums as well ?
as if there is a glitch that means after the pitstops there is a 2 second disadvantage , is it work using mediums to start the race if you were going to use mediums at all during the race ?

In test race one i think a driver used a 2 stop strategy all on hards. Worked well and he ended 3rd

Interesting, i was thinking that if you can stay out longer in the fist stint you will get more benefit from not having the 2 second drop off glitch after the first pitstop ?
what in normal cases is the rough rule of thumb average lap times and lap durations between the three tyre compounds

Great I hate that track more than the Nürburgring 24h circuit lol.
I have a bad feeling I'll do a couple of laps in test then leave, an hour and a half of it I not be able to stand.
At least at Nürburgring the track will keep me awake with the spins outs and crashing into the walls

Far to early for me to consider what I'm doing next, the easiest option is GT300 and GT500 but other than that I'm not sure.

It's quite a good track imo, add in rain and it is exciting!

I ran GV with RS, tbh I will probably run RS at every race, I will practice different compounds to see what time difference there is but I don't feel it will be any faster

I would leave that thought when this series will be coming to an end. There are countless options to choose from. ;-)
