I'm all for having lots of cars on a grid and yes the PS4 could accomadate it, but could people's connections??

Even with just 16 cars on grid some people's nets are not good and lag, get DC'd.

This is mostly down to most console games having peer-to-peer hosting for multiplayer; I've heard some games with dedicated official (and not) servers can support far more than 16 depending on the game and server in question.

A fully functional A-Spec Event creator truly is the be all, end all.

Question is, is PD more desirous of making A-Spec all it could be or making Online all it could be? It is unlikely we'll get both.

Thats why you load them spaced out and if they start to group up them have some pit and leave and new cars join in in an empty area :P

If I recall correctly, GT5 only had la Sarthe and Nurburgring as tracks with day/night transition.

They've added Spa, Motegi, Daytona, Silverstone, Ascari, Willow Springs, Brands Hatch, Apricot Hill and Mount Panorama as legit endurance circuits. That is quite a marked improvement.

You could also possibly add in Autumn Ring, but we've not officially seen it at night. It may only be a daytime transition. Even so, it will be a huge step forward from Suzuka or Tsukuba where the sun magically stayed in the same position hours on end.

I don't count Goodwood since it isn't a circuit and it is likely only a daytime transition, though I suppose it is possible for the Goodwood Circuit to be included.
I am hesitant to include Ascari and Willow because they lack the spectator stands etc and seem to lack the traditional feel of a true track for Enduros, but we won't know how they feel until we play them.

As for real-world tracks currently in the game, only Monza, Laguna Seca, Fuji, Suzuka and Tsukuba lack the requisite time transition for a legit Endurance race. An update to Monza and Suzuka have to be pretty high on the to-do list, I hope.

Assuming the Nurburgring 24 will be the Star Level 24 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans as Level 23, they have a bevy of options for A-Spec Endurance Races which I hope they fully utilize. There should be no excuse for any track to be used twice, that is for sure.

If they have the AI field sorted out with appropriate competition, tire wear and pit strategy it could be great fun. I raced the 4 hours race at Nurburgring at least 5 times and enjoyed it greatly. I'm hoping for much more from GT6.

I can see 16+ cars being on the PS4... but with the PS3 being what, 7 years old? or around there? Nope.

I was pretty happy with the endurance racing, I think the 24 hour Nurburgring race was my favorite part of the game, as strange as that may sound. It rained all night and I was in an extremely powerful RWD car which really kept me on my toes. Then in the morning the rain finally stopped, the sun came out - it was glorious.

Kinda feel the same, for different reasons. It was dry all day and night but in the morning, the rain came and it was pounding hard all the way until the end.

These seem to be all the endurance races.

Although, there were other "endurance" events before that were 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 15 minutes.

Well; they seem to be very short this time around (24 minutes of Le mans ). Whereas i also agree the GT5 ones were way to long, PD have chosen for the other extreme...
Bit of a shame seeing that they now have those day/night cycles and variable weather but there are no real endurance races to enjoy these features realistically.

My ideal endurance race lasts around 1-2 hours, Grand Valley 300km's was always my preferred one in all GT's so far.

These are just S-class challenges. The real endurance races will come in the iA-class or a seperate endurance class, which will unlock later in the game like in GT5! Or do you really think a man like Kaz who drives the 24h of Nürburgring himself will miss the opportunity to the put the best races in the world in a GT game - the endurance races?!

Got to say from what i've seen so far career mode is looking miles better than GT5 (one of my main issues with GT5) really looking forward to GT6 now :):):)

I am so hoping you are right. I would even be fine with an event creator that calculates winnings like it does in online races now.

Actually the second option would be better, 24hrs of Bathurst here I come! :dopey:

S class is above IA no? Well i sure hope that they will still unlock later on then, for the sake of us endurance race fans.

imo somewhere/somehow the "real" endurance stuff will show up. pd developed this time-transition / astronomical system which shows the exact positions of stars and stuff like that in accordance to the le mans 24h 2013 and the nurb 24h 2013 race.

remind what is written on the official gt6 site:
From the longitude/latitude of the track, the sunrise/sundown hours at the 2013 Le Mans 24 hours, Nürburgring 24 hour race, and the Goodwood Festival of Speed are represented accurately.

so - relax guys ;)

From what I've heard it's in between: nB - nA - S - iB - iA - ?

But I think it's just a special category that doesn't fit well in the other classes. Maybe that's why they have filled it with challenges like the 24min of Le Mans...

Traditionally it's gone N-A-B-iA-iB-S. I'm sure that's the progression in GT6, too, though I don't know yet.

My fear is that the real endurance events are gone, and replaced with these shorter versions with a shortened day-night cycle.
If so, it's only because more casual gamers were whining about the length of the endurance events.

Let's not go there. There are many obvious things that one would expect somebody that actually races would have added to the game years ago.

If the number of stars (546) and therefore races (182) is met by S level, then there cannot be any more races to find.

Can anyone with the game indicate if this is the number of races you can do by S level?

If the 24 hour events have been removed, I'm happy. I mean, driving for 24 hours was just ridiculous. There comes a point when there is too much simulation.

24 minutes in place of 24 hour is simply insulting. If it is the case then that will probably be the final straw for me.

Seeing that so many people on here are playing GT6 now; are the "mini" endurance races the only ones in career mode? Surely some fanatic must have unlocked the whole career by now?

Being a staple of GT for so long have to imagine they will appear after being unlocked at some point in the game.

Once you gather the amount of stars they put in the night sky? Haven't seen a single person mentioning they found real endurance races (some have had the game for almost a week) :ill:

I thinking it possible they will return after the next major update that includes B-Spec, course maker. etc.,
with PD making so many courses into 24 hour, just seem to be a waste. I think with the update the B-Spec will be incorporated into it, but who knows.

Endurance races should be seasonal events

That wouldn't be wise in my opinion. Most people, if not everyone, will eventually migrate to the PS4, and the newer versions of GT when they come, but for the nostalgic folk that keep their games and their consoles (having upgraded to the newer generations, or not), having the Endurances taken away altogether from the 6th installment just because the online services for it would not be available anymore ? That would also hinder restarting a new game on it, once it is not supported for online any longer.

They have to add these events to the regular career mode.

Also, losing connection (as it often happens) would kick everyone out of such a race, and we would lose all of our progress in it, since seasonals require connectivity.
