Leave the time as it is please. I'll wait to see what zer0 meant about accommodating those who can't start earlier before deciding if I go the same way as Ap.
Ok guys, we'll be leaving the time as is. Frankly, if I'd realized how many problems the time change would cause, I would have voted against it rather than saying I didn't care
I mean this is just unreal. Some of the key guys that have made SNAIL what it is won't be able to race anymore. That's just wrong.
Yea this time change thing has me flustered also. If it is to promote higher grid #'s, how is 3 drivers from D3 not racing going to increase grid #'s for D3? I want to race with tezgm99, appmadock, and zer05ive, that's why I tried so hard to get promoted to D3, to follow tezgm99. What is happening here!?!
Thanks, guys. I was happy to see tez and goat back in D3 (and zer0 when he came back down from D2) it seemed like much of the old gang was back. It's been too bad that Rally's been too busy to race much.
With regards to zer0's ideas, and I don't know why he hasn't posted them yet, but oh well. Basically his thought was to either to:
-hold a later race for those who wanted/needed a later time. I don't like this because it counteracts one of the leagues founding principles–close competition. Breaking into segments means that there would be fewer divisions of more disparate drivers, which is also why I don't like the idea of division contraction.
or
-have those who needed a later time start with combo 2 in their regular division, then race combo 3, then move to a room with all of the guys that started late (and anyone else who wanted to race) and do combo 1. Again, I don't like this for much the same reasons as above, but this also throws in a mess with scoring and all sorts of other problems.
Admittedly, I'm not much for compromise…
Again, I don't know why zer0 hasn't gotten around to mentioning any of that. It may be just time or he may be trying to figure something else out, but I thought I'd shed some light on it.
It sucks. It really does. I liked this league so much that I purchased faster internet so that I could be in it! I'm not trying to complain about the cost of that, or the wheel, or the headset, or the time I spent watching replays, ahem, but I'm not likely to find another use for all of that as enjoyable as SNAIL is/was.
I think this move was ill-planned and done much too quickly. Especially considering that ONE person (who isn't currently racing with SNAIL) put down a vote of 3 for the 10ET time slot, while more than one current racer voted for either the earlier and later time.
That said I'm going to try to join this tonight and whenever else I can, and I'll probably try to run in the Performance Cap races on Mondays when I can, as well, though I've yet to decide how much I really like those. It's hard to tell after one experience.
Hopefully I see you guys tonight.
