I'm sceptical out this, how many times have these things turned out to be hot air.

The name of their first car, the Eterniti Hemera. Sounds like a disease. I guess we will find out soon enough.

A new British car brand is on the way, according to Car magazine. No, seriously. Eterniti Motors has thrown caution to the wind, ignored the lessons of so many failed British automakers and is threatening to unveil itself and its first car at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show this September.

Not much is known about Eterniti Motors or its first vehicle, but we can tell you it'll be a highly customizable luxury crossover. Eterniti says it'll look roughly like the sketch above, though the final model will probably be toned down slightly--at least until the alloy wheels are smaller than the vehicle itself and users don't need to take a running leap to get inside it.

Word on the Internet suggests the Eterniti 4x4 will be a five-door model and will likely go head to head with the bonkers Aston Martin Lagonda Concept, so expect a price tag somewhere north of £150,000.

"The car will be very well equipped as standard," said a spokesperson. "But we will do whatever personalization the customer wants. If they want a diamond-encrusted roof lining, we will do it."

If you're having difficulty believing Eterniti Motors is a serious proposition, you're not alone--we're taking this news with a rather large dollop of salt. That said, Eterniti claims to have the backing of some very clever, very influential people, so it may yet pull off the surprise of the year.

"There are people with lots of experience of motorsport, luxury cars, high-performance road cars and driving experts involved," said a spokesperson. "This is a fully UK project." Right you are, boss.

Eterniti Motors promises the five-door Eterniti 4x4 will go on sale in 2012.

INB4 same fate as Marcos, TVR, Jenson, Triumph, Invicta, Austin, MG, Lagonda, and Rover. British marques don't usually last long unless they're absolutely fantastic.

Thanks to Sniff Petrol, with some mutation to remove AUP-unfriendliness:

I hope this new company succeeds, we need a boost to the UK car industry at the moment. Most of our automotive brands have either died or been sold to foreign companies. Putting aside patriotism for a moment... I can't help thinking that this luxury-SUV thing looks like an uglier Porsche Cayenne. Also, they're promising that this'll hit the streets next year, which I find a bit unlikely considering they've only just announced this car and all they have to show us is a sketch. I remain hopeful for them, but the skeptic in me feels that this may not go to plan.

Worst name for a manafacturer and model ever. Sniff Petrol never fail to disappoint!

The video made me laugh.

Words cannot describe the cheese!

In all seriousness though, if this and an Lagonda concept-like Aston go into production, most would probably buy the Aston. And why do so many expensive SUV's have big mouth-like grilles?

A small new no-compromise company and their starting product is a crossover?

Why not to do a light, pretty and desirable sportscar? :odd:

Because that is what you were expecting us to do... plus it wouldn't sell anyway...

How could a car that's "so powerful" and "so intense" not be the greatest car in the world!? :P
Nah, it looks pretty 'company is going to collapse within a week'-ish.

From the way that they put it there, it sounds like it's going to be a double rainbowboom

Why does there logo look like winged...gentlemen nuggets? Anyway didn't they just add sounds from a Porsche in there?

And straight in at number 2 on the Official Tasteless SUV Chart, is the Eterniti Hemera, which leaves the standings looking like this:
Joint 10 - the upcoming SUVs from Jaguar and Maserati, who have both confirmed rivals for this bunch of R'n'B Video dwelling monstrosities.
9 - Range Rover Sport
8 - Mercedes-Benz ML
7 - Mercedes-Benz GL
6 - BMW X5
5 - Audi Q7
4 - BMW X6
3 - Porsche Cayenne
2 - Eterniti Hemera
1 - Spyker D12 Peking to Paris

I wonder if they could've found bigger wheels for that concept sketch.

From back when George Stephenson was pimpin' rides.

:embarrassed:

The Scirocco isn't ugly!

True, but not pretty either.
It's like a girl you wanna have sex with, but you know that she's a slut. (I hope I'm allowed to write something like this 💡)

The Car itself doesn't bother me at nor the company.
First of all I hate SUV's, and Companies who intone Gallore on their on car, without even having established themselves in the industry are a joke as well.

So my forecast is: One contribution via TopGear and than they go bust.

Looks like a Scirrocco with a gaping wide mouth. Not a good combination.

Don't think this will be affordable either will it?
