***Euro GT500 Championship***Race #3 Thread CLOSING, NEW 1 IS UP!!***

My race report:

Qualified 4th with a 1.16.2 which was my quickest lap so quite happy with that, didnt really think I would get close to Rick Astley (FittCP) Max Factor (eppe) and Peltonen (Human?) so 4th was a decent start as I was about a tenth down on third.

Good start, and held onto top 3 for 9/10 laps, top 4 broke away. Pace was hot. I made a minor mistake and lost the slipstream which was hard enough anyway as the Lexus has 30hp more. Sat in third solidly till first stop, came out and had a bit of a fight with Metsapicasso. He gave me just about a cars width down into the left hander after the back straight and I took it, was nice tight racing as usual:tup:

I could tell Chris was on a 1 stopper by this point and he had decent pace, so i had to work hard and I had a bit of a spin  luckily he did as well later on so it evened out and I was able to catch and pass him to leave a straightforward 4th after that.

Well done to the winners, the pace in our race was impressive and so was the lack of any mistakes by the top 3. :)

Will see what Tokyo brings but Im not sure it will be a Z track. Johan and I did a bit of practice tonight. he managed a 1.33.390 and I did a 1.33.546

Few quick ideas ive had for following series, or possibly this one.

give points for quailifing n reverse the grid order for the race.

the cars used are determined by championship standing...

top 4 drivers use NSX with 605pp
next 16 drivers have free choice from race to race of Lexus, Z, GT-R or NSX with relvent pp
last remaining drivers have free choice of the above but with a +5 pp

good idea, but regarding the reverse grid... it would be a better choice if you would then split the race into 2 races, 30 or 45 mins each, and have the second race run in reverse grid order... like they do in real life (top 8)

Chris

I drove almost the exact time 0.300 down on Laguna Seca with the ARTA NSX. Did'nt bother too much @ TM with the NSX. But i think if you look back @ Indy Road Course the NSX's was in the middle.
Glitterus, how come you're second in the total championship after 3 races if the NSX sux ;)

I think its good the way it is. The q matters enough even
without points.

I don´t think its right to punish drivers who practice 500
laps on each track to get competitive.....

I think next season we will try to get even more simple
with the cars. I do though like that we have PP limits instead of
hp limits. This way drivers can play a little with downforce
and so on.

We tried once in the Nordic GT500 C that reversed grid in
second race, of course there will be more dangerous
situations, but maybe next season people will be more
experienced with overtakings and fairdriving. So we can
think about it, though I prefer to keep things simple......

Im sure if we go next season with 2 divisions, the battles
will be even closer all the way.

I know its the first of april today, but it seems like a "Too good to be true" story? NO COMPLAINTS?!
I must say that in our race (1) was the cleanest race i've been in. Back markers did an excellent job!!!

Report:

Qualified 3rd (found out after the race why my controls did'nt feel like they used to, my Sixaxis was the first controller:() after a not so good qualify by me. I was nervous like hell :(
When the start signal "beeped" . Peltoalien, Mad Max, me and BigBen gained a gap quite quickly and Max and Peltoalien changed plaves a couple of times. BigBen started to loose ground against us three in the top. Just before the first stop i passed MadMax and tried to catch Peltoalien while MadMax went into the pits. Could'nt catch Peltoalien and by the time i made my Pitstop MadMax passed me on the start/finish straight. I tried to catch MadMax the whole 2:nd stint gaining some in some laps but then lost some in the others.
After the 2:nd stop i had gained some time against Peltoalien but i soon lost time again. I caught up with Paginas first and he moved over directly (thank you) and then Doc who also did an excellent job. On lap 38 my tires were so bad i decieded to conservate my tyres letting Doc and Paginas pass me since I saw that the gap to BigBen was so big I could ease of my pace without loosing any position.
Must say it was a great race considering my result but it was quite booring after pit stop 1.

No comments on this 1 Ricardo....?

No. Im not surprised ;)

1. Peltonen
2. Glitt - 43
3. Apollo - 43
4. FittCP - 43
5. Eppe00

Comments? ;)

Whats the complete team standings btw?

Race report:

Came 2nd in qualy after Peltonen. I had some issues with
my pedals and managed only a 1´15.9 time so was quite
happy with 2nd. Was expecting more guys in the 15´s...

I overtook Peltonen after a perfect start, and I think Peltonen
with 609 PP couldn´t really do nothing there.
We went then with Peltonen, Rickie and Bigadz to make some
gap to the others. Changed places a few times with Peltonen,
all very clean imo.

My tires didn´t last so long that they had in practice, and
I pitted on lap 13. With P and R continuing.
I managed to get a few sec gap to Rickie when he came
out of pits the next lap, but never did catch Peltonen anymore
in the whole Race. I had good pace and could drive safe by myself.

Little misunderstandings with a few backmarkers but didn´t
have any affect on my race or final position.

This was my third race in row now with Mr Peltonen, and
its kinda hard, cause You can only score max 16 points
with him in the same race.

EDIT: And it seems like I have the 4th time with Peltonen in Tokyo........

Report: Got a great time in qualifying and started from pole.Start was quite bad, usually start with 2nd gear but my 2nd gear in TM was way too long to start so i started with 1st gear and lost a pos right in the start (almost 2).Few overtakes with eppe and in lap my pace started to be enough for other drivers.Got a few second lead before the stop and managed to keep it through rest of the race.

Tokyo is not that good track for me,haven't driven that much there.:/
Looking forward to it anyway. :)

It's not because of the car ;)

Jimmy and Drummer got a warning for NOT showing up,
(Jimmy didn´t inform in time....).
Klonkku666 is kicked out of the series for doing so twice.

Hopefully You are aware of that You could ruin peoples
qualis when You don´t show up....There came yesterday
again a guy in the room during our quali in group #1.
Luckily he didn´t came to the track with a Veyron or
something..

I think its enough with these warnings. I will change the
rules to -10p immeditially for not showing up without informing. Doing so twice will resultate in kick as in Klonkkus case.(Old rule).

EDIT: If Your race is a disaster, don´t leave the race.
Just park Your car somewhere safe and You will score points.....

Jimmy though had a family emergency which you can't plan for, so is it fair to give him a warning for that, or was the warning given because he didn't tell you in time?

Ye, he told after the race...

I know it can feel a little bit hard, but I can tell You also
that it feels VERY hard week after week trying to tell
people the same story....

SHOW UP or INFORM in TIME!!!

EDIT: DRUMMER, I want a explanation for not showing up. Are You committed or not?
How about Mathias, You already missed two races in a row....Going to continue?

Race report:

Lack of practice meant I was slower on 1 lap pace but on my 2nd qually lap I blitzed my PB with a 15.7. I pulled over as I wasn't really feeling great but I think I could have smashed that in a lighter car.

The race was mixed. I tried to keep the tires fresh hence me being slow (Johnny, Diesel) but I ended up screwing them more and pitting 2 laps early.

I tried to keep within 4 seconds of you two so I can jump you lot in the pits but it put me out just behind you (lifting off coming out the pits to let Nycrom through lost me time :()

As I got within 2 seconds of Johnny and Deez I was catching them as they were battling and I had a bigggg problem with a backmarker again. Coming out of the lake hairpin he was parked on the racing line (must of crashed) what gave me a lot of damage to my body work and my engine. I tryed to stay cool and keep going just incase Johnny or Deez made a mistake but I lost to much time.

Wp Mr Nissman I see Eric taught you well mate :D well played to Deez and Johnny aswell, close racing at times.

On the car debate, here is a list of the HP/Torque of the cars we're racing.

----------HP------Torque
GTR------506------66
NSX------510------64
"Z"-------504------78
Lexus-----519------66

The GTR and NSX have very similar engines. In my experience, the GTR is easier to drive in the corners but the NSX has better aero nad has better straightline speed.

The "Z" has not so good aero but tons of torque. The "Z" will be good on slow tracks where the torque gives superior acceleration but it will struggle on high speed tracks due to its aero.

We first had the Lexus at 613PP. When nobody picked it we decided to bump it up to 615PP. Me and Eppe first planned to use the Lexus but we went for the GTR in the end. We both thought they were very even, but went for the "safe choice" in the end.

I still feel very good about the PPs for the cars. My prediction for Tokyo is that given the high speed nature the NSX will be strong and the "Z" will struggle. The GTR and Lexus will be even.

OK. From bad to even worser.

I am in group #1 in Tokyo with Mr Peltonen.
Now it seems like Falcon is getting a 1p penalty,
for causing avoidable collision....So that will lift
up Mr Nissman also to group #1.

So max points to get next week is 13 for me.....

EDIT: No one wants to give me some penalties for TM.
1 point penalty would be good, I think I bumped both
Doc and Paginas when I lapped them.

That would put me in group #2 in Tokyo......hehe

Good race lads and a nice win Nissman.

Wasn't the best race from me.
I was nowhere near the times i was putting in during the week and i qualified 6th i think.
Had a good start off the line just trying to see if i could pass anybody who went wide or whatever then went wide myself at the right turn before the left onto the back straight
Back wheel touched the grass and i spun.
So i was dead last on the first lap.

So while trying to get back to my 6th position i actually got back up to 5th and in doing this i had made the assumption i was not going to make any more places doing a 2 stopper, so made the awe inspiring decision to do a 1 Stop race.

Not the best of moves as i was doing high 1.20's at the end of my stint lol.

But anyway after all stops were done i found myself in 3rd with about a 10? second gap back to JohnKiller and Co.
Thinking i could do something here i then smashed into AqillaNo? who had spun after the back straight and lost the gap i had to the others.

Just drove to the end of the race and took my points.

Good race to all and my teammate Nycrom for good race.

Its not a great track for long races, nice for 5 lap sprints but not good for this.

Tokyo is Gonna be good:tup:

Yeah! Thanx to you we are back in buisness again! We lost alot of points last week when Schumi couldn't participate.
