Wow. Finally I get the pleasure of watching the race on TV. It was fantastic.

ANyway, I thought this race was exciting. Disappointing but exciting. It sure kept me on the edge of my seat. I thought Kimi had it, but his engine had to die. I mean, did anyone expect that to happen so soon? The Micheal Schumacher and Montoya incident was extremely suspensful too. NOt only did I think he was out of the race comeplety (which would of been a big shock, I mean.. how often does he not come in top 3 :-/) he was able to come in, and continue. So I had that entire copmercial break to wonder WTF had just happened. Then there was the entire DC Alonso battle. I can't believe DC gave way with only 2 laps to go... A shame, Mclaren needed those points. (Again, his little errors that disappoint his scores so baddly. But was it really his fault? That can wait for another thread ;) After DC was out, with the final lap at the 2nd to last turn, just when you thought the race was over, Micheal comes in and ALMOST takes 4th from Alonso. That was really exciting.

I thought it was a great race. One of the best Ive actually gotten to WATCH so far. Ralf did great. Montoya went a little crazy. But I have to agree with Micheal, what he did was what any other driver would of done. Micheal was going slower than he was, so he could of passed. But he could of backed off a little bit.. makes me wonder... Ruben did a good job at maintaining his spot. I sware Kimi had this race. I was shocked when his engine died. Props to Alonso too, he was able to keep his cool while DC was pressuring him the entire time.

Haven't seen the race, but saw the Montoya incident - looked like a good outside pass there - he didn't give Schu much room, but Michael's hardly one to criticise in that regard!

The interesting thing at the moment is that Michelin seem to be gaining a strong upperhand in the tyre war - it's been quite evident since Monaco that the Michelin teams are enjoying an advantage.

I saw the entire race. I thought that Montoya should have given Schumacher a little more room and should have been given a penalty of some sort... but it made things more interesting.

When Coultard nearly hit Alonso I almost jumped out of my seat. That was incredible! It's too bad he beached it in the gravel pit though.

I really thought that Da Matta would have finished the race also... unfortunately he blew up. And Villenueve's spin was amazing (its too bad he lost it later)!

I completely disagree. There was nothing wrong with Montoya's move on MS. I don't know what it is about people: as soon as someone pressures Michael into a mistake, they start assuming that the other guy did something wrong, almost like they genuinely believe that Michael is infallible. Everyone knows he's weak under pressure, and that spin merely proved it.

I've commented on the DC/Alonso incident in another thread. All I can say is that DC was lucky he didn't roll in the gravel trap.

Having had the opportunity to see the JPM/Schumacher incident, it's pretty clear Montoya left enough room - Michael had an understeer slide into the front right of Montoya.

How:
- Michael spun
- JPM didn't spin
- JPM didn't get a puncture, and Michael lose his front wing...

...I'll never know.

I could've sworn that JPM tapped Michael's car with his left rear tire! Thus causing him to spin...

The pass itself definitely wasn't clean in my opinion, Montoya lined it up quite good but Schumacher got on the gas soon enough, too, meaning JPM probably would not have been able to make the pass without blocking or cutting off Schumacher. Which is okay, but he made contact. (which wasn't Schumacher's fault, he was fighting understeer and hadn't much - if any - room)

From my point of view it was clearly Montoya maneauvering into Michael as opposed to Micheal understeering into the Williams.

That's not how I saw it. I saw the two cars braking for the turn, Montoya gives Michael a bit of a squeeze, but Michael's braking so hard that when he turns in, still on the brakes, the back of the car just swings around. To me the spin was entirely at the tail of the Ferrari, so as it came around, Montoya was already along the road.

It was lucky though - they always say you should never overtake an oversteering car on the outside.

I though that the tap JPM gave Michael pushed the front of the Ferrari around causing him to spin, also there was a nice tyre mark up the side of the Ferrari as well

Read an interview at ITV and Michael said he would've done the same thing if the position where reversed

Or at all! It's always risky business... :)
