Howdy all,

Total newbie to the forum.....been looking form the outside finally decided to step in. My 1st question is what are the differences for a online tune vs a offline tune? I've downloaded some tuning guides and such so I've got some reading to do but also how would a tune differ from a "sticks" driver and a "wheeled" (which is the only way to drive) driver? I was racing online with some "clean" drivers speced cars and I was left wonder which way they went lol. So I understand they probably had their cars tuned but how would I decern which tune ........I understand some tunes are meant for certain tracks........just trying to understand what I need to do to achieve competitiveness while racing online.

Thanks in advance to any and all that respond.

The in game physics have been found to be different, online to offline. So a car will act differently online than it would offline. Some people use an online lounge to tune their cars, so that they can be optimized for online racing. Others tune offline, so that cars can be used... well... I don't know where people use offline tunes.

Some tunes are track specific, but most are 'general' 'all purpose' tunes that work at a variety of different tracks, the only exception being the transmission ratios, where certain top speeds are necessary. Competitiveness online, comes down to mostly driver skill and track knowledge. I believe I saw you in an online room with me earlier this week. Possibly GT500, maybe an Indy room, but your PSN name looks familiar. Regardless, with practice you become consistent, and then you can test multiple tunes and see which one best suits your driving style and needs. Good Luck!

Hi , i opened a little garage in the tuning thread, with tunes for Monza ( only one at the moment ) , will they be added to the database ?

Eh…Adrenaline needs a link to your thread for it to be put in here. Just leave a link and let him do the rest. 👍

I need a good drag tune for my GT-R Black Edition for the Top Gear Track. Thanks

………

Am I right in feeling a bit like punching someone in the face?

See that sparkly thing in the first post? Click it. Then, look for the word "Drag" in the side column, then find it there.

Can't be too difficult...... or can it? :ouch:

Hey Adrenaline it looks like you have missed a lot of my newer tunes. Pretty much everything on the first page here. Could you please add when you have time.

Thanks to the OP for bringing together all these tunes and making it easy to search etc. It's appreciated.

It should be noted that the website does not have the GT-R GT500 Stealth Model.

While driving to dinner tonight a light bulb came on, that reminded me, never to fall under the assumptions of the common user. Guilty as charged.

The Stealth GT500 is listed exactly where it belongs, under download content, because that's what it is. Silly me, for doubting myself. Shame on you for making me do so.

For some reason when I try to view the website, the background appears white and I am unable to read the names of the cars. Is this my computer or the site itself?

What for a browser are you using?

The stealth GT500 is DLC? That's wierd because I had it before I even bought any DLC. Also, I only ever bought Cae Pack 1 and Route X, and I'm pretty sure that the GT500 stealth wasn't in either of those.

To celebrate the official conclusion of the North American GT Academy competition on Speed TV (hopefully you were able to join GTPlanet’s live viewing party!), Polyphony Digital and SCEA have now made the Nissan GT-R GT500 Stealth Model available as a free download in North America.

To download the car, head to the PlayStation Store and select “Redeem Codes” in the top right corner. Next, enter the following code…

RD69-FJN9-5N6Q

…and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. That’s it! The code will be valid through January 30, 2012.

Much like the Honda NSX GT500 Stealth Model which will be included for free in the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 DLC pack, the GT-R GT500 Stealth Model car was previously only available in the GT5 Signature Edition or as a pre-order incentive.
