They say 120 new cars and "over 120 cars" from the start so I hope every car in Forza 4 will be in this, it would also be nice if they included newer models for most of the cars that were in Forza 4.120 new cars is not enough, considering that GT6 will have 200 new cars. I do think 120 new cars will be enough if they are not simply newer versions of cars we saw in Forza 4 but totally unique vehicles that have not been seen in any Forza game. If they are not going to include all of the cars in Forza 4 then I am not buying this game.

Nah, Dan and T10 have been clear that FM5 will have fewer cars than FM4.

And I'm sure the 120 new cars are new to the series. Meaning there will be other cars in the game, but they will have been represented in previous titles.

Even though 5 will have a smaller roster, it means each car will be up to the same gorgeous Forzavista standards. Not well-modeled new additions with simple Forza 2 models with untextured interiors mixed in like in 4. It keeps the game from being a tedious car encyclopedia and helps T10 distance themselves from GT's standard crowd.

^ So a smaller roster is only justified in the light of Gran Turismo? That's an interesting point of view...

Don't get defensive, man.

And yeah, I'd say it's justified to keep T10 from using the same skew-whiff FM1 models for the sake of car count. They're future-proofing their assets like PD did with their premiums. It's hard to find fault with that.

I and everybody here would love a comprehensive car roster, but if quantity takes priority over quality, then the developers and the customers both lose.

Hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised when this game is released, lower car count notwithstanding. I am looking forward to a game that "learns" how I play .... and then seeing if I can change up and confuse it. :)

Personally, I'll be surprised if it's over 300 at release. But nobody really knows at the moment.

I don't really care as long as it's over 300 or at least 300. FM4 had more than enough cars. The thing they needed most is tracks and from the looks of it, well be getting them. Now one thing im wondering is if they reduced the track count/canned fantasy tracks and other not so driven tracks. That's the last thing we need removed.

I agree, although if we lost the Bernese Alps tracks, I wouldn't shed any tears. I liked it at first but now find it to be the most boring track I've ever raced.

I think we will get about 400 cars at launch. Tracks are far more important to me than cars. And guys come on....Have T10 ever let us down at what cars they choose to put in the games?

Imo they have the best taste in car selection of any racinggame ever. I mean FM4 with all the DLC cars is the most epic car collection one might imagine, with only f1 cars missing imo.

FM5 will feature F1 cars and Indy so i'm not to worried if they put less cars in. I trust them with what cars they want to put in. They deserve credit for that.

I was so tempted to buy the DLC for the Smart fortwo but never did. The go-kartness of that thing makes it look like it would be a blast.

Haha, its an absolute blast to toss around after I've bought it. :) However, it will tip over through corners. Its sold separate if you wish to try it someday. 👍

They'll be releasing batches of cars every wednesday till they release them ALL in november. So if the number of cars is the same for the first couple of weeks, we can more or less guesstimate what the total will be.
With 9 wednesdays left, these better be huge, 30+ weekly releases, or else...

^ It's in the news post from yesterday on FM.net:

We've heard the feedback. You want more Forza 5 information. And, starting next week, you're going to be getting more. A lot more, in fact. Beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 25, we'll be unveiling "The Forza Motorsport 5 Showroom" here on the site, where we'll be announcing the cars that will be playable in Forza Motorsport 5. Each Wednesday we'll reveal a new batch of awesome cars until we complete the full car list in November. And of course, follow us on Twitter and Facebook to get even more on the awesome car lineup in Forza Motorsport 5.

For those of you who can't wait until Wednesday, here's a quick couple of clues for you to ponder until The Forza Showroom opens its doors:

  1. If you love DSM, you will be happy to see this car.
  2. This car did not make $1 billion in three days.
Any guesses as to which cars we're referring to? Hit us up in the WIR thread and get ready for next week's reveals. Until then, have a great weekend!

Oh the guessing... :P

Well that's good to hear, I'm hoping they provide pictures along with the list so we can see what these so called "new" models look like.

Well, the second clue obviously goes to a car with "GTA" in it's name...

My bet would be the Giulia 1600. The Spano is borderline vapourware, while the MiTo GTA was only a concept, and a 4C GTA doesn't exist.

It could also be the '87 Firebird GTA, though I'd argue the Alfa has more historic significance.

True but there's already a pretty similar Alfa in Fm4 already.

well at 21 cars a week is about 189 cars in total thats going up to launch week with no DLC with car packs its 202 cars in game going on that i mite not get the game if there only 202 cars

I remember how excited I was when 'Road & Track Presents Need for Speed' came out with 8 cars. 202, how will i ever survive.

Which is why I would assume it'd be a safe bet, since not every FM4 car will be carrying over.

However, looks like it was just an R34 and Evo X revealed. Wake me when it's something interesting!

If I want to collect virtual cars I will play GT, if I want to race cars I will play Forza. I usually find 8-10 cars I like and stay with those, I guess I am not a collector (cars, musium cards, helmets, paint chips,...). 100-200 cars to pick from seems plenty to me, but that's just me!
Tracks are another thing, can never have too many, I guess I am a track collector!
