I have said it many times but it will most likely for sure be less than 300. A really good reliable source said the count will be around 200 at launch but I am still in denial. Really hoping for close to 300. But I doubt that's happening since they keep advertising all cars in autovista. Its honestly depressing to even talk about since F4 has almost 700 cars. First Forza game I wont be buying at launch. Oh well. :guilty: I still have plenty to do in F4. :)

Well there still isn't much in terms of "interesting", but they had additional lists on that page. As dodge2217 said, it looks like it'll be about 21 cars per week. Including the two pictured, here's everything they've revealed:

Hmmm, they've got the Focus and Gallardo listed twice, though for the latter, I assume it's meant to be the Vent-Door.

They really kept the Talon? That's surprising. It's also a bit sad they're keeping the older Cherokee instead of the newer one that showed up in Horizon. It's better in every way!

Would it have been too much to ask for at least one new reveal this week? :-/

If I want to collect virtual cars I will play GT, if I want to race cars I will play Forza. I usually find 8-10 cars I like and stay with those, I guess I am not a collector (cars, musium cards, helmets, paint chips,...). 100-200 cars to pick from seems plenty to me, but that's just me!
Tracks are another thing, can never have too many, I guess I am a track collector!

This exaclty, not to worried about the car selection, thats something T10 always gets right. Tracks on the other hand are much more appreciated.

Was also suprised to see the Talon coming back. Never really drove it that much in FM4.

Hmm, yeah, there were a few (probably erroneous) repeats, including the TT-RS and 300SL as well; I've cleaned it up now so it won't cause confusion. Anyone else, feel free to take the list and add on to it as the weeks go...

Hmm, other than the FORMULA cars and P1, nothing is jumping out at me as being NEW TO THE SERIES.

I can see keeping the '09 GC SRT8 since it's a different generation to the '12 used in Horizon. However, it seems odd keeping the '08 Lancer Evo X GSR when they could have done the 2013/14 model.

I agree, although if we lost the Bernese Alps tracks, I wouldn't shed any tears. I liked it at first but now find it to be the most boring track I've ever raced.

Wow, try any of the oval nascar race tracks. Next you will be telling me Camino Viejo de Montserrat is the same

He has a point though. I too loved that track too, but the thing is that track was abused in some events. I can't remember which, but I think the multi-class events were one of the them.

An oval is "plain" by design; it's kind of pointless to single them out for being boring. Either you like oval racing, or you don't (I don't). By the same token, the drag strip layouts are even worse. The problem with Bernese Alps is its tremendous width and long corners, IMO. It's like an Intermediate course from a high-speed '90s arcade game, the next option above an oval.

The overall track list in FM4 was pretty disappointing, personally, especially with how the Event List is weighted in favor of the tracks where you just accelerate down straightaways into long braking zones that terminate in herky-jerky corners. Not fun. Like King1982 and FuzzyFassbender, FM5's track list is what I'm really waiting to see.

I also don't enjoy ovals AT ALL. Drag racing is okay once in a while in short bursts. (pun intended)

As for track list I am just so dang happy Bathurst is FINALLY in Forza. That's easily the most exciting news I have heard about F5. And kinda the only exciting news I have heard so far about F5. Lack of cars, no weather, no night day cycle. Just a lot more bad news than good news imo. So far.

My sentiments exactly!

Ouch looks like my post #31 was correct about having less than 300 cars. Going from around 670+ in Forza 4 to only 200 at launch in Forza 5. Massive ouch. :indiff:
It hurts but it was inevitable. Just like GT2>GT3. New systems mean an all new approach and rebuilding of assets. There are some new beauties in there however so we should just try and enjoy those for now. Won't be soon but I for one am drooling to get my hands on those vintage F1's, omg.

Yes I expected less cars but this is a LOT less cars than Forza 4. 670+ to 200. I am trying hard to be optimistic but dang, this is disappointing for Forza. Forza has always increased the amount of cars per game. And I am not talking duplicates, I am talking individual cars. So while I knew this was coming and have said this a LONG time. Its still even less than I expected. :guilty:

Camaroboy, your earlier estimate of 200 has proven to be prophetic, after the glitz of the P1 and a few others wears off, I expect there will be a firestorm, hope that final track list is really good.

If anybody can tell me they've spent quality time with EVERY one of the 600+ cars (lets say at least 25 laps each) of FM4 i'd say get a life. Quick. But hey, thats just me. I work and have a family and play sports and watch movies and... you get the picture.

Tracks will make it for me. In fact, I'm already sold on the tracks they have, more will just be bonus. 250 cars (including DLC) is fine. I want to drive as many different tracks as possible and anyway I will buy GT6 too so... what a wonderful time to be living!

So it'll be close to 300 after DLC and the likes, let's face it, I'll probably use most of the 200 cars in Forza 5 compared to the 20 odd I used in FM4, no big loss when you think about it and the Lotus E21 counts for 11 cars (11 F1 teams with a livery editor)

I agree. We should have all the F1 Liveries pretty quick I would think.

Indeed if they had to implement autovista for all of them that means those models are gonna be detailed like you can't imagine, and it's a smart design choice to show people a taste of what true next gen is all about.
Imagine if it turns out those standards in GT6 will still consist of revised PS2 models...:dopey:

Just a crying shame our bloody wheels don't work for FM5!

I thought we would have around 300 cars and around 16 tracks so todays news is disappointing although not enough to cancel my Xbone with F4 & B4 :)

Roll on the Laser scanned Ring in January!
