ea had the licences originally from memory but f1:ce is by sony. I remember unlocking historic f1 cars. I've never gotten around to trying them out though so i'm not even sure if you can drive them. I usually just play career mode.

edit: damn its 4:25 am already. i gotta be up again in a few hours to go to the f1. Seems everywhere I go f1 is around this weekend lol.

Heres the question:

Does Polyphony Digital have the rights to all the Formula 1 cars like Renault/McLaren/Honda or just the Ferraris?

If just the Ferraris, how do you think 16 red Ferraris will look on track, or do you think PD will give them different colors?

I call the black one!

All about Yellow for me. The original Ferrari colour.

Although at the moment i wouldn't say no to a Lada if it meant i got to play GT5P!

or it could be a single manufacturer licence.

its possible but does such a thing exist with f1? I always made the assumption that there would be some kind of clause in the f1 rights that manufacturers can't release the rights to their own car.

They can be driven, and they're quite fun. Give 'em a shot one of these days, especially the Renault RS01 or the JPS Lotus. Lots of sideways fun to be had.

Also, didn't PD already exploit that loophole for 'historic' F1 cars into the game with GT3? I guess they weren't exactly historic being early 90's models, but they were fun to drive.

I was under the assumption that PD acquired the license to put a few Ferraris into the game and their F1 car just happened to be one of them. This could mean that PD will attempt to satisfy those fans in that one instance, rather than trying to add in a few more faux F1 cars with it.

But Ferrari is Ferrari, and Ferrari means more than the F1 itself lol

That's what i wondered about in my previous post.

I didn't think that one team could then license its car for use externally to the official F1 game...

I'm no legal eagle.

Just calming myself down a little by listening to Moon Over The Castle.... It's doing the job so far, i'd recommend it! :P

It might be a former F1 model like the F2007 or even older, although I don't think it's going to be real, otherwise they would have been flaunting it for a while now.

Dammit I wish I had that MP3, but I can't find it no where....:(

In the old days, if you had ferrari you had all F1.

Wouldn't it be a much better bet that it was a new Formula GT car? Although if really was an F2007 (or an F2008, now that would really be something else), I wouldn't complain one bit.

The rear end looks just like the 2007 Ferrari, I'm pretty sure its an official Ferrari. Besides, the crew was wearing Ferrari Red, not Polyphony Purple

Here's the link to the site i downloaded it from.

Do get all the songs on there! it seems silly to have the GT Auto music, but it's actually quite entertaining (and slightly worrying when you actually know what it is from the first 4 notes!)

Enjoy my GT obsessed friends!
