I use R2 accel L2 brake/ only way I can throttle control as when I use my thumb I feel like im button bashing for street fighter lol
Ever since I got my original PlayStation and started with original Formula One game, I've played all my games the same way. Manual transmission,
D pad for steering,
X for accelerator,
[] for brakes,
O for handbrake.

Anything else I've tried in the past with friends on their systems feels completely foreign and uncoordinated.
Old habits die hard.

Can totally agree with that mate. I used to be the same till I switched over settings, think it was due to GTA IV I switched over tbh.

This car was set up to win on the Nascar races. It makes the road races very easy but just watch the rear end doesn't step out when accelerating from sharp corners. Nice and easy is the key to this car.

I used the daytona tune from the GT6 directory to win the other races in this series which is very good too.

Can someone please help this newbie here? Every time I try and use a tune posted here the gear ratio never matches what you guys post. For example on this Nascar tune I can only go as low as 2.935 on first gear
2.082 on 2nd
1.596 on 3rd
I can reach the 1.186 for 4th
I have max speed at 180 kph
Finall gear at 4.600

This is the case for every tune in try.
I usually just set the final gear and adjust top speed higher then you posted to make it work

You have to set the Initial Final Gear.
Step 1. Reset the transmission to default.
Step 2. Set the Initial Final Gear.
Step 3. Set the Max Speed
Step 4. Set the individual gears
Step 5. Set the Final Gear

The 2013 Jeff Gordon 24 Chevrolet SS (Nascar Road Tune) the gears do not match but they do match at 149mph, that's why I think that @RandyDale have trouble with ?, RandyDale do what @TheInfamousJEW6 explain in his post and you can not go wrong unless stated in Shaun's tunes the transmission the way he sets it up.
Your not the only one who struggles with this transmission. I can't explain why because I can build it every time without an issue. Try @hall90's suggestion. If not, use my transmission guide to set up a transmission that works for you. it is simple enough to follow.

CoTM Review for my BMW M5 on RH Tyres from @Bass Addict

1:26.000 - @shaunm80 BMW M5 '08 599pp

Trial Mountain (forward thank god!) on Racing Hard Tires with the tuner's recommended TCS: 1 ABS:1

First, if I recall correctly, I have never had a time ending at xx:xx.000 before...I find this cool for some reason. This was a super fun car to drive after testing all of the RUF cars. A very stable tune but quick with very good braking. I had to be a little careful getting back on the throttle at a couple of places around the track but it never hurt me...I quickly adapted and smoothed out my right foot to accommodate the bit of tail wag. Well done Shaun...👍

CoTM Review for Subaru BRZ S '12 (Shotaliema Updated Tune) from @Bass Addict

1:33.375 - @Otaliema & @shaunm80 Shotaliema Black Panther BRZ 500pp

This has to be the most stable and quick car at 500pp on SS tires I have ever had the privilege to drive. The handling on this car is off the charts with very little "hard" braking required. Since Otaliema had a hand in the creation, I decided to drive / steer it with the throttle and timely gear shifting to get a little bit of a drift going. I was really able to push it through the tight sections without any fear off sliding off course and meeting the side of the mountain. I zipped through 15 laps without a care in the world just soaking up the sheer bliss of driving! Both of you, Well Done!!

Review for my BMW M5 '08 on RH Tyres by @hall90

@shaunm80 BMW MS '08 (599PP) at Trial Mountain Circuit on Racing Hard Tyres track set/ Real.
I did 10 laps with my best time of 1:24.329, this car is very stable but I found it in some corners if you accelerate to quickly it will make you lose control of the car, so I overcome this by a smooth acceleration and the issue had gone but overall this car has not got any problems using a G29 wheel very nice Shaun .

Wheres the beer? That man cave setup isn't complete without a beer in the shot. :)

Yea, I agree Where's the beer!!! :D

Just a small hint (what i first always forgot when using a tune from someone else)
match the power/pp first, always match the gearbox as the last action you do.
So step 0. match power/pp first.

I have the same problem with that tune, i just tried it again a few minutes ago.
I load up my database and this is how i got the gearbox matched.
_ChevroletteSS2013JeffGordon#24'13_Racecar_by_Shaunm80changed_112.jpg

So i first did a oilchange, then added rigidity to the body

got the pp matched to 627pp
tried the initial speed of 180mph (290kmh) and could not match the gears.
so changed initial speed to 240kmh/149mph and i could match the gears.

For me the important settings from @shaunm80 are the suspension.
If the gearbox doesn't match, i try some stuff myself, mostly stock gearbox and increase or decrease the topspeed. ( and change LSD to my drivingstyle)
Of all the tunes from @shaunm80 i believe i had two or max three tunes that didn't match the gearbox.
But thanks to those suspensions i had more and better traction in the seasonal races.

But

Start in reverse when you tune( do not start from top to bottom settings):
Oilchange needed in the tune? first thing you do before going into settings
Bodyparts? add them, do not add parts that are not in the tune, "flatfloor" adds pp, so don't add it when its not in the tune!
Settings:
1-Go to the bottom and start with body settings (add/remove weight, position the added weight(+ or -), downforce setting)
2-Add the power parts or set the power limiter or both.
3-Set the drivetrain (lsd, clutch/carbon axle,diff)
4- check if the pp matches the tune you want to use.
5- pp does not match? missing 7pp? you forgot the oilchange
More pp then in the tune? added a flatfloor, or powerpart, that doesn't belong? remove it or set powerlimit to match pp.
But it is better to remove the parts then use the powerlimiter to decrease for matching pp.
6- your pp ingame matches the tune? set your gearbox, it should match now
7- match the suspension and brake settings
8- if needed, buy the right tires

If the gearbox still did not match? check the power and bodyparts again and remove the unwanted ones.
Did you have to add weight/ballast? is it in the right position? moving the ballast also affects the pp.
Check if you really had to do an oilchange (oilchange mostly adds 7pp and can't be removed)
Still no matching gearbox? you used an old tune, or there's a little mistake from the tunecreator.

ps. @RandyDale ?? how could you set 180kph?? minimal value is 240kph or 149mph for the nascar
@shaunm80 uses MPH miles per hour, not KPH kilometers per hour.
1Mile per hour is around 1,609344 Kilometer per hour.

Review from @Bowtie-muscle for my CoTM Cars.

Scirocco R SS/RH:

SS tune -
I left it candy white, but did buy the red rims :P
Fast little bugger this one, also able to compete with the Integra.
Understeer more noticable than your Golf, but it is 50pp higher with a lot more power.
Handles really well, brakes are great.
And you can have fun smoking up the front tires, without losing time. :sly:
Best lap at Trial Mountain 1:30.516

RH tune - Understeer nearly completely gone.
Less rear grip maybe, but in a good.
More fun, faster of course, and feels even faster than the time it posts.
Good tune, fun tune. And I believe it was faster than your 550pp Gran Turismo S (but that may have been on SS). Quick tune, great job.
Best lap at Trial Mountain 1:28.831

Thanks @dddsprayshop, I have added the note about setting the max speed to 149mph on the tune sheet now. Hopefully that should help anyone else who has the same problems. :)

GTA V Online update.

gta-5-official-logo.jpg

This game is truly awesome. Massive game play, very interactive and loads of online races to pick from. I already have a nice apartment with a 10 car garage so just saving up for the T20 to buy. I may need another apartment in a few levels though if I keep buying vehicles from the dealerships.

I have just set up a Crew as well which is quite cool. My crew name is Exeter GT Crew and the crew code is EXGT. If anyone on her (who plays GTA 5) is looking to join a crew, feel free to request to join, or let me know on here and I will add you (via invite).

Anyway. Hope your all doing well and enjoying the CoTM reviews as much as I am. Feel free to take some out yourselves and give them a test run. I am happy with the results so far so I think you will enjoy them. Hope to see you in any of the racing/car games that I currently play in my spare time.

A review from @Bass Addict for my Maserati GT3 car.

1:25.090 - @shaunm80 Maserati Gran Turismo S '08 (GT3 Version) 600pp. (TCS:1 ABS:1)

I was just barely lighting up the front left & right tires a pale yellow at a couple of spots around the track...your car was more forgiving to my style of driving. The first thing I noticed was how most of the "heaviness" was gone while maintaining the grip. There was less side to side movement in this car and was much easier for me to keep in pointed where I wanted it to go. The ending chicane was still a challenge but this car handles the small out cropping from the mountain very well so I have some margin for error. I connected very easily to this car and I never wanted to stop driving it...I have much more fun driving your M5 around this track but I can see with more time in the Maserati, I would be much faster.
