I actually think that PD is changing the PP for the Cali on the fly. I've had to readjust to meet 650PP like 10 times already.

Rudi, we are just too nice to each other :)
Think we lost like a full second at the end of the back straight.

Wow stellar race with drben and zabeu. Eventually lost it, but hey, I hung with the best!

Just ran a 2:05.121 in hotlop using the California on R1's and 6-axis. A few more attempts should yield a 04.xxx. I got lucky with my tune on the California. My original tune pretty much was dialed in out of the box, so I'm quite content until the competition steps their level up, which is only a matter of time...Where's FAK? :ill: It's quite fun to drive as it is very tossable in the esses and has great balance in almost all sections of the track. I'll be in at :15 for a few more. 👍

??? 💡:dopey:For example many small racing teams which are racing the 24h Nürburgring Nordschleife race with their street cars like the VW Golf/Beetle...., old and new BMWs, Porsches, Opel Mantas, Corvettes and so on and so on. Much of them tune only the same things like you have in the GT5 "Quicktune", the only difference is that they have to use a rollover cage. So "illegall" tires?, that´s tuning man! For sure it´s a little bit poor tuning when you only put on some racing tires, but if you adjust the hide the springs/dampers the wheight ond so on, then it´s a real tuning i think and that you can do with every vehicle on a racetrack.

If you only want to "drive" with Sport tires, then is a racetrack like Suzuka the wrong place to do it, i think, because then it´s more like a sunday lap at the Nordschleife with your daily car.
Ok, i love driving with S tires and standard settings also very much because it´s a bigger challange, but then we need private rooms for it, because you destroy the total laptime for the other faster cars when you´re too slow and need the hole racetrack to keep it on the street. And I´m sure that you have much more closers races and cleaner fights(side by side through the esses, but still very fast) with R tire tuned cars.

I think it must be everybodys own choice which tires and which PP he want to drive until we´ll have private rooms, but remeber always that you slow down the fast cars in front when you´re sliding around the track with S tires!

Regards

I didn't get much of what you just typed, it seems english is not your first language and I guess it's fine, however the bolded part got me kind of stunned in your understanding of what's a racing car and what's a street car.

Rollover cages are, for the most part, what legally differenciates race cars from street cars. Last I checked the F430 and the California had no roll cages.

As a matter of fact, you would not even be fast enough to sufficienly heat up any R compound tires with a street car, thus resulting in LESS grip and snappy handling. Unfortunately PD replicates none of that and we're left with an arcade game.

I guess it's fine if you want to keep this game towards an arcade feel, however those striving for realism will understand my point.

Hey mate, sorry for the bump at the chicane, I'm not getting on too well with this car. I've managed a mid 2'06 with it in free run, and the worldwide Ferrari event shows me just how much the RBE is STILL in effect. I was being restricted to 2'13s while in the lead of one race.

I find the car to tend towards sliding everywhere and turn-in oversteer is driving me nuts. I definitely didn't get it dialled in with my tune :ill:

All the best

Yay! I just got punted out and was thinking of giving up, but I thought what tha **** and climbed to 3rd = most of them were n00bs..

Im coming in xx45. Trying out new ferrari. What times are you getting with that car? Did warm up now and got 2.06.5xx.

I managed the same, a mid 2'06, but in the race the RBE is very strong. I run 2'13s at the front and go damn fast at the back.

Knowing your ability with Ferraris and tuning, you'll be in the 2'04s in a week or so.

Just remember all my kind words and send me a good tune for this awful California! :dopey:

After a good tune and some good laps I was getting mid 2'06's, but some are getting in the 04's as we speak. Ill join ya online.

People, people, when wearing your GTP tag, please please don't behave like assholes, wait when you put people of the fookin trackin or at least apologize......idiots

Managed to stumble into some races with a host of GTP guys and a few of those fast Euro GTRP members as well. The majority of racing was great, with good speed and good driving manners, but .......

...... a couple of the GTP guys need to pull their heads in and learn how to drive. I want to make it clear that the majority of racing was great, but simple racing manners need to be drilled into some members.

I'm sure when the full version of GT5 comes out and we have some inter forum challenges that such driving will result in some serious words. I'm guessing the GTP will have some sort of complaints section (to weed out the fools who dirty the GTP name)?

Don't worry about the bump 👍. You can give my California tune a try if you want. It should work decently since you use a 6-axis as well. I use the joystick and pad buttons however. With the right tune that is also tailored to your driving style you shouldn't have much problems with oversteer. Having the correct amount of lift throttle oversteer dialed in is again key in getting those fast times, especially through the esses. 👍

osg
add Rudi to that list too......

By the way, do you left or right foot brake, and wheel or pad?

I use the pad. When my wheel comes I will definately left foot brake....it's plain faster. I already have a lot of practice left foot braking in my
125cc CRG shifter kart. lol

i guess it a feel thing also...... i flat out find LFB to be unnatural. I guess it's a throwback to heel and toe-ing when i've spent time on racetracks...

Anyways, they are incredible times, here's hoping you see some 2'04's.👍

Man it's hard to overtake on this track!'

I had a great chance to win that one, but some kind of ***hole punted me in the first corner at the 4th lap!

Changing PP:s is very strange thing. I was going to race, and Game said that I have too big PP. What! I just was racing and haven't done any changes.

Checked, and I had 653... missed one round because need to find right setups again.

???

There seem to be some glitches in this for me as well. My Ferrari 512 keeps losing PP points because the weight keeps resetting. I have to go in to the tune settings each time I load the game - but only that one setting is changing for me as far as I've discovered.

This is a very fun event. I've been out there running the Ferrari 512 all evening. It is great to have an event where the 512 is competitive again! Other than some obligatory punters wreaking the usual havoc things were a blast. Didn't see any other GTP tags though...

Some good racing with you all this avro (NZ time) 👍 Too many GTPers to name.

Good to catch some of the US members l don't usually race with too, being PAL. Definately liking this Ferrari event. :)

Thats me for now. Cheers.

Had some good races sarvo, along with some not so good. I'll say sorry here to anyone I might have rubbed the wrong way (GTP_Jackinton), it was not intended (Never is).

One suggestion for GT5 would be to have the cars ghost to T1 to avoid the 1st corner nightmare.

Don't worry about it, dude. 👍 I've been driving pretty well, considering the only PP enhancement I have is S3s. Almost won a race, but I was punted off.
