Hi guys. I'm hoping someone can help with settings for my DFGT. I have some issues that need ironing out since 1.02 on PS3. I now have wheel saturation set to 70%, linearity 10%, and deadzone 1%.
I am happy with the way the car tuns but I am having to make constant steering adjustments on straights just to stay on the line. If I turn deadzone off I weave down the straights like I'm on a warm up lap. I need to find settings that simulate 0.5% deadzone if possible. I cant seem to eliminate the problem and it's stopping me driving smoothly.

I also noticed that since the patch the feedback when you hit a curb is horrendous and it makes no difference whether ffb is set to 10% or 100%. I can live with that though.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Ive used steering saturation 70%, Linearity 30% & 0% deadzone & all others since the update
also FFB on Environment 90%, Feedback strength 100%, & wheel weight 80%
I use a Logitech G27

i have a driving force pro and cant get a good set-up.it understeers''and feels loose.can anyone help please.

Hi, I have a Logitech DFGT wheel (PS3) and had the same problems, the cars were totally undrivable. I tried the settings for the wheel that I had for F1 2010 and they were even more wacko!!!
I ended up trying these setting which seem to work better:
All deadzones..............0
Steering saturation......30% (I tried this at 95% and couldn't get off the grid - maybe 20%??)
Steering linearity.........50%
Throttle saturation.......50%
Brake saturation..........50%
All FFB options @ 70%

Don't forget that the cars need to be set-up for each track as this will help your steering too.
Here are my settings for Melbourne from the 2010 edition which are not too bad in 2012.
My lap times are not quite as fast yet, vs. 2010, so they probably still need some tweeking.

Wing: F. 2; R. 2 (maybe 3 or 4 would be better now we've got DRS?)
Brakes: 50/50, high, standard
Balance: 50/50. Roll bars: F 10; R 10 (Roll bars keep the car "flat" on the track so the aero won't get upset)
Ride Ht.: F. 2; R. 2. (lower ride height for more dowforce) Springs: F. 8; R. 8
Gears: I usualy lower 1st and 2nd a click or two and up 6th and 7th a bit from the deault setting.
Alignment: Camber: F. -1.4; R. -3.5. Toe: F. 0.11; R. 0.38

This was a good all round set-up for most tracks in 2010. For twisty ones like Monaco and Singapore you need to soften the springs, raise the ride height and increase the wing angles.

If this is your fist time out with this game set the driving line "on", "automatic" brakes and trasmission, AI "easy" until you get the hang of things.

I hope this helps, have fun.

Hi, Try lowering the steering saturation to 20- 30%, and increase the linearity to 50%. It's probably not the "deadzones" as I've got them set to zero. (DFGT, PS3).
Hope this helps.

Hello guys,

I found the best wheels setting for the Logitech G27 after update 1.02

All you need to change is the Saturation to 40%.

Enjoy!

Hi,
I just tried "steering saturation" @ 15% around Spain and it worked great. (DFGT/PS3).
Try setting it to 95% and see if you can get off the grid..LOL.

I use,
steering saturation 75%
steering linearity 55%
everything else default.

Works well for me, good luck!

I bet you do. We had debate about that on CM forum. I also contacted Lee Mather to change whole PS3 wheel handling and hopefully they've change it so we can change the degree of rotation we want. Thanks to me, codexas and DikkerK2 they have made this possible for console users.

Just for you, try saturation at 58%, leave deadzone and linearity at 0.

Report what do you think about it.

Hi,
Here are my latest "advanced wheel settings" for DFGT/PS3
All deadzones @1% (seems to work better than zero)
saturation....5% (I got this from some blogs on the Codemasters web site)
linearity.......50%
throttle saturation....30%
brake saturation.......30%
Force Feedback...all at 80%
This gives me a "tight" wheel with very little slopiness and I can "feel" the car doing a four wheel drift when I'm pushing too hard.
My wheel is two years old. Could the dynamics of the wheel have changed over the years? I don't know.

Try this any way and see if it works.
Hope this helps, have fun.

Ok, then it makes sense. With patch those settings are meaningless.

Hi,
DFGT/PS3player here,
Just got the patch v.1.01.. WHAT A JOKE.. way worse!!!!
The car wanders on the straights, steering deadzone @ zero, in fact I had to set all the "advanced steering settings" to zero to get any kind of "reasonable" handling.
I won every "career" race up to Spa (my favorite track) BEFORE THE PATCH, now I'm back in 20th and trying to crash into the other cars at Monza just for the fun of it!!
I've been playing F1 since the 2006 (Liverpool version) and IMO Codemasters have really dropped the ball on this one BIG time.
The wheel works well up to about a 45 degree angle and then doesn't do anything beyond that, just goes loose, can't even do a doughnut!!
Unless v.1.02 (which I can't get at the moment in Canada) improves this steering problem you'll be able to buy my F1 2012 on e-Bay cheap and I'll go back to F1 2010, with a "real agent" and "pit girls" and a way better "feel" for the F1 experience.
Have fun.

What patch are you actually talking about? Because 1.01 is the one available from the very begging and includes the RaceNet.

The 1.02 is the one with famous steering fix of which I am very proud to be part of. I've put a lot of time to get in touch with Lee Mather who said this was a fix worth addressing!

The steering now allows you to set it to degree you like, from 900 and to 200 or so.
The spot on IMO for 900° wheels is saturation at 58 and everything else on 0.

I play ps3 version on a Logitech G27

Ive used Steering saturation 70%,
Linearity 30%
& 0% deadzone & all others since the update v1.02.
The advanced wheel settings seem to have a wider range of their affect so you will find a nice balance for your driving style/needs.

Also I use FFB on Environment 90%,
Feedback strength 100%,
& wheel weight 80%

The 1.02 patch is still not available in NA and won't be until 1.03 is released globally. You know, *codemasters*.

Hi,
Just got the v1.02 patch (Canada eh!). Seems better but I still had to set the steering saturation to 45% and the linearity to 40% from the settings recommended by Codemasters (63% /10%). I also had to increase the front and rear wing (from the F 2010 settings) quite a bit to get better steering...still not as good (or as fast) as F2010 though IMO. DFGT/PS3.
Have fun.

Is there an option for 'other/unknown' wheels to be used? And then you can select which axis is used for steering etc?

Hi,
You should be able to adjust the "advanced steering wheel settings" under the "options" menu for any wheel on the market, it's just trial and error.
I'm not sure what you mean by "select which axis is used for steering" unless you are using a six axis controller and that IMO will be difficult to use in this game.
You can also select what the buttons do on the wheel.
Have fun.

I have one of these:
famitsu_514_jogcon.jpg

It works with Live For Speed via usb, but due to being a more precise game, isn't suited to accelerating and braking with it's non-pressure sensitive buttons (I've wondered if I could modify some onto it).
Live for speed lets you choose which axis to use for steering for whatever device is plugged in and sending readings. (x, y or z).

Brilliant controller, I just wish I could use it for more things. :D
