here is the Patch in full:

FFB for Wheels
Rumble for DS3
Virtually no 'tearing' in viewing replays
more consistent frame rates
Slighty more / better game effects light rain spray / engine heat haze, etc etc

USA should get FFB around Dec 5th

I am excited about the FFB...and the heat haze. Not too sure about the rain, they look pretty good already, but improvements with the frame rates big plus (not that I see any frame rate drops though).

source please...!!!

A source you will never get. However if you check around the other racing forums you'll see that many others are confirming this patch was released last week for the UK/Euro version of F1:CE. IE http://community.eu.playstation.com/showthread.php?t=170548&page=6

Thanks for staying on top of this for us MS7, although I know it has being a trying experience at times fer ya. 👍 Just remember that simply being the messenger simply means you're the one most likely to get shot when someone doesn't like the message

Excellent news. Thank you for keeping us (and everyone else for that matter -- I see your posts on all kinds of forums) abreast of the situation. Anxiously looking forward to this.

Where is it? What is it? When do we get it? How do we get it?

I apologize in advance to MS7XWDC if I'm stepping on toes here, but I just thought I'd try to bring some new information to this community.

Over on the Playstation forums, MS7XWDC states that the patch is delivered as follows:

Code:
MS7XWDC wrote:
with UK version:

sigh into PSN

start game

Online Mode

Prompted to download update [saved as 'game data' version 1.02 on HDD]

adds FFB, and other things noted above

[b]Editor's Note: "..other things noted above.." refers to the following[/b]:

FFB for Wheels
Rumble for DS3
Virtually no 'tearing' in viewing replays
more consistent frame rates
Slighty more / better game effects light rain spray / engine heat haze, etc etc

USA should get FFB around Dec 5th.

Latest information (sometime around 6PM Central Time) states:

Code:
"..I'm saying that SONY did not say anything publicly. I trust my source 1,000 %.

i suspect we need a bit more patience, the UK got the patch, so i'm certain the US will.

if we don't get it Friday, i'll try to find out more info.."

So, basically, since Sony has not stated an official release date, there pretty much isn't one. We can only hope that it arrives on or thereabouts Dec. 5th (which has obviously passed already). The UK patch was released on a Monday, so there is possibly some symmetry if the US receive it on the 10th.

Well after reading this morning on the official European PS forum that the NA patch would be released today I've been loading the game every hour or so to check. And just now what did I find after booting the game? That is right, I was greeted with the following message screen:

The latest update data has been found.
The system will quit the game and start installing.
Version 1.10

Looks like it is a 33mb download. After it downloads and installs I'll report back if my DS3 actually rumbles now. Very excited :D

Edit----------

Rumble works and under controller settings there is now an option to turn FFB on. I don't have a wheel but based on comments in the Euro forums it is supposed to work well. 👍

Umm Patch 2.0 is already released?

2.0 is a "UK version" patch, not related to this

these are DFP adjustments, not F1CE adjustments per se:

I am only getting forcefeedback but no rumble effects when driving over rumble strips, is it suppose to be like that?, I am using the G25 wheel with the NA version of F1:CE.

Using the G25 you should not expect to get "rumble" feedback, only force feedback. Rumble feedback only applies to the DualShock 3 (and similar). Force feedback is superior, so that's a very good thing. ;)

Yes I don't mean vibration like on DualShock controllers, but aren't you suppose to feel something when driving over rumble strips, I think that GT3&4 had that didn't they?

Detergent: have you made sure that FFB is turned on in the F1:CE controller menu?

Yeah sorry guys I feel like an idiot, I think what happened was I turned on force feedback and either didn't save my changes and went straight to continue my career mode, then I did all my testing from there.

The resistance was stronger but it wasn't actually force feedback it just the resistance of the patch doing the work.

Yesterday I actually turned force feedback on and drove some of the older F1 cars I had unlocked and it was really satisfiying to feel that again. Chaulk it up to that damn lawsuit from Immersion leading to forgeting what driving with force feedback feels like again.

Downloaded the patch. I'm not sure how realistic it is, but it's better than I was expecting. At the very least, it works my forearms a little bit :P.

Anyone else having strange gear shifting issues since the patch? IE I'm racing career on hard in the Midland and half way through a practice lap at Imola I lose 6th gear. Even if I change to the auto gear settings, for instance the acceleration default, I still get the same problem. I've read somewhere else that they might have added gear failures to increase the realism but can anyone comment knowledgeably on this?

Also with the DualShock3 I do notice a slight rumble when really pushing hard through a corner. Seems that the feedback is designed not only for simply hitting obstructions and the like, like rumble strips, but also for insight on how well the suspension settings and tires are functioning. I haven't played around enough to see if this rumble can be "tuned" out though. Someday maybe.

Hey guys I have a G25, so now the US version of the game will work with FFB, nice!!!
I still yet have to buy the game.. maybe tomorrow ill get a New copy :)

But I wan to know if the FFB is really good. I play Formula 3000 on Race 07 and those forumla cars in rFactor.. the FFB works pretty well, how is the feedback in this game? is it really good? really bad? or so so.. can anyone state thier views on it? If its really bad I might not get the game :(
