In Fallout I used lever guns almost exclusively. Nothing beats .357 until you get to .45-70. 357 is perfect for nuisance enemies too because ammo is pretty much ubiquitous. When you combine them with the Cowboy perk, it was pretty much the best way to go.

...:D Yup, one of the places are packed with Deathclaws. Not just any, but an Alpha male deathclaw, and a Mother Deathclaw. Even on "easy" two swipes from one of these two mofos, and you were dead. :scared:

For Deathclaws, if you didn't have the Lincoln look no further than the Dart gun. With the v.3 schematic you could get one shot kills, plus being silent and with a perk I cannot remember if you didn't kill first time, the dart always hit critical so victim bled out within seconds.

Oh, I remember that tiny little thing. Oh the memories, scouring the map to find those schematics. I even broke into Megaton's armory to look for one of them. And no, I didn't want to use The Internetz for an easier time...:P

The other place was full of lethal radiation and a very alert Super Mutant. :embarrassed:
I remember starting the game and heading left (despite the game constantly telling me not to) with just a 9mm Pistol, Varmint Rifle and a .22 with no ammo and sh**ing myself when I saw those Deathclaws
Steam has Fallout in the weekend deal!
Is that were you get them for free for the weekend or they are on sale?

Hey, I did that as well. So went other direction, decided I couldn't be asked with the Gecko's and ran straight into Rad scorpions, so took bravery pill and shot Gecko's instead.

Gecko's? They're easy to kill. I did find a back entrance to New Vegas (walk past the gas station in the town you start in). There's a few bees and a whole bunch of raiders but still. You can still escape to New Vegas.

Yes the dart gun made dealing with Deathclaws very easy.

New Yong video. In it he discusses the "mysterious stranger" and the topic of is the protantagionist even human.

...Waaaaay too much speculation. My head is spinning at stuff spewing out from the vid.

It's just ONE piece of pic, and a (sarcasm) million theories pop out. Not interested...:indiff:

Soooo...then. Bethesda conference later today. Psyched much? Me? Of course I am. Wonder how far they are gonna go with the reveal. More cinematic trailers? Some gameplay footage? Unveiling of new features? Or even better, a release date?

To calm myself down, I'm gonna play this song on repeat.

Medicine Stick is friggin awesome. It's so powerful it's ridiculous !

November 10th, 2015! Customization looks insane! Can customize and build custom guns as well as armor! Can also build settlements and use every item in the world for parts.

New Fallout Info that I was able to glean from the E3 presser. (includes spoilers)

- You must create a male and a female face in character creation. This is necessary for the child, which may or may not be the protagonist. Ultimately who leaves the mirror is the character you play as.

- There is a dynamic responses that alter the character dialog options. In a vivid example, the protagonist was conversing with a Mr. Handy robot and left the area mid conversation.

- The game is running on the new generation of The Creation Engine (the engine that Skyrim was developed for). For those who don't know, The Creation Engine was born from the Gamebryo engine as the original owners, Numerical Design Limited, went under in 2012, and the source code was released.

- The game is set 200 years directly after the nuclear attack that created the wasteland, approx. 2145?

Nope, the child is apparently just added for dramatic purpose, I think, and he's seemingly dead (together with everybody else in Vault 111) by the time you go back to your former home. You play the same character through all the game, or at the very least, you'll play the same character before and after the nuclear war (which will surely be interesting for lore suckers such as me!). This is leading me to think Vault 111 may have been experimenting with suspended animation. Or that it may have been the only actual Vault intended to save lives, and in a dramatic plot twist, it failed (as you are the only survivor).

The game is set 200 years directly after the nuclear attack that created the wasteland, approx. 2145?

Try 2277. Which would explain the presence of the BoS in the Northeast. Also keep in mind that the Brotherhood didn't appropriate Vertibirds before the Chosen One stole the plans from the Enclave in 2241 (or the defeat of the Washington D.C. Enclave in 2277).

It looks like we may see some dramatic changes on how the power armor works. By the looks of it, we may only get one power armor in the game, and it won't be a piece of clothing (after all, they switched to a completely different, tiered system for that). It looks more like it will be treated as an usable piece of equipment that we'll get to customize with all sorts of goodies and that may or may be not limited in its use (perhaps it will have limited energy?).

A screenshot of the power armor flying through the magic of jetpacks. Notice how on the bottom right of the screen, nearer towards the centre, we got a "Core" gauge? What could that possibly be?

Nuclear powered jet pack, maybe? If so, then it could reference the nuclear core powering it.

Could also be. However, we already know from the lore suits of power armor are powered by a nuclear core, and earlier on in the gameplay trailer we're shown the player character entering a jetpack-less armor...

And then, in that same suit of armor, proceeding to turn a Deathclaw into a deadclaw.

But not before we're treated to an onboard shot of the power armor, and... The core gauge is right there.

Could the use of our power armor be limited by the need to let the core cool down, or to find more nuclear fuel? I honestly wouldn't mind at all, if the power armor also became the powerhouse it's supposed to be rather than a glorified suit of combat armor.

P.S: another thing I noticed is that apparently you can throw a flare/smoke grenade to call a Vertibird for pickup, and then hop in ride as the gunner.

P.P.S: jetpack seems to be using Action Points.

Still don't understand the whining and crying about the graphics.
Looks more than ok to me.

Ah right, power armour is probably a better guess. I haven't watched any of the gameplay yet (busy doing English revision... or supposed to be ) so I didn't realise that it was for power-armour. Very interesting though 👍

...Since the power armor is 100% customizable, I'm betting you can augment it with whole lot of stuff - and judging by that screen grab, I'd say like regular limb-damage system, armor parts can be damaged individually.

It'd be nice if I could use fission batteries to power the suit - using AP is effing ridiculous imo.

Also, customizable weapons. Did you see that baseball bat with rotating saws on top???

Don't really care about base-building or whatever, but just gimme a freaking huge map to get lost in. THANKS. :mischievous:

Wow, I cannot believe I was right about customisable power armour, it'll probably snow this afternoon now
Still hoping for a choice of gender.
The range for weapon customising looks impressive, jet packs I do not care about, a bit gimmicky for me.
To build a base how you want it looks good, and it seems bobblehead collecting is back.
And yes a big map is required, the bigger the map the bigger my area of dominance/control/power.
