I agree. F3 consumed hundreds of hours of my life with multiple characters. FNV consumed at least another 100. Each launched with an overwhelming amount of bugs. I wont ever buy a Bethesda game day 1 EVER again. Even with Skyrim I rented it for a week before deciding to make the purchase. The Skyrim engine ended up running fairly well.

I will wait at least a week for F4 and keep an eye on the community feedback along with reviews. If it turns out to be fairly bug free, then I will consider picking it up.
Gentlemen, I'm referring to @Famine as well, you always have to remember that Bethesda has always developed to the lowest common denominating platform, and then fix whatever issues that may come up as they come along. Fallout 3 and New Vegas (and by extension, Skyrim) were both developed with the 360 as the lowest common denominator platform, so the 360 didn't have as many bugs as the PC and PS3 versions of the games. I eventually bought New Vegas and Skyrim for the PC, and I enjoyed both for the price ($20 for New Vegas and all of the DLC, and $5 for Skyrim as part of The Elder Scrolls Anthology on retail), but this game should be enjoyed Day 1, and that, I think is how I will enjoy Fallout 4.

That is actually really frickin' cool if true.

...Yes, it is indeed true.

Edit: Ohh look, even BBC is getting in on the act...

As we said, they are enjoyable games, no doubt about that. However, they are also known, as even you acknowledged, to be very buggy, especially at launch.

With that said I would much rather give them at least a week to work out some of the early bugs. Especially the game ending bugs that are found usually within the first week.

I do like that this is in a new, and unique setting. Boston. I don't recall playing any other game set in Boston. So that alone will create a refreshing atmosphere for a change.

Assassin's Creed III was set in Boston.

Not a big fan of AC so I never played AC3. Never knew it was in BOston. So for me, this will be a unique setting.
Not many games are set in Boston so it is indeed a unique setting. I wonder what they include outside of the city.

The trailer seems to be directly from the game engine which is much better than some cinematic trailer. Though it looks like they've recycled the Gamebryo engine, and the Internet right now is dissing the graphics.
I'm looking forward to what they're gonna show us at E3 this year. Hopefully it's gameplay footage... and it should be.

I like it.

Lots of colours, even in the post apocalypse portions. It looks like the right kind of Fallout whimsical, something I thought was strongly lacking in the previous two.

That trailer... I was introduced very recently to Fallout 3 by @Ryou and I was never part of the launch hype for a Fallout game... Glad it's not too late. This game looks awesome!

Yeah, this is my first time being part of the hype launch too.

Tbh, i was a bit disappointed at the graphics on first glance, but my hype went berserk seeing everything else. I've got faith Bethesda will introduce amazing features that will make the gameplay even more interesting, i pray for more immersive randomized events and awesome weaponry.

Keep in Mind it's also still a WIP. If Bethesda are anything like Codies with pre-releases, I would not worry too much about graphics at the moment.

Here's a reddit post of someone who claimed he used to work with Bethesda and also played Fallout 4 a bit. There's some spoilers though

Edit: never mind

What do you mean Bethesda's take on it? How different was it before 3?

Well basically F3 is very close to TES in focus, the big focus being exploration. While the originals and NV are more about the RPG elements. Writing, choices (and consequences) etc. It was never much about exploration.

There's also plenty of design choices/lore changes I didn't care for in F3, despite enjoying the experience overall (Afterall, I like the Elder Scrolls).

Only games like Fallout I have really played are Fallout 3 & NV, Rage, Borderlands & BL2 and TES Skyrim. I enjoyed them all, although Rage was kind of a short game.

I wonder how would the gore look like...
I am wondering the same. The slow motion graphic gore with the VATS system is one of the main reasons I liked F3 so much. Otherwise the combat system was utterly terrible. Will be interesting to see how much more detailed it will get this gen. Already insanely gory last gen. The Sniper Elite games have very similar slow motion gore but even more detailed. Maybe Bethesda will use something similar. :dopey:

I'd like the gun mods still, silencers, bigger mags etc from NV. Hope the storyline isn't male only but understand if that's the case. One feature I would like is forming my own faction, to take over and rule the world.. Sorry I get carried away.

I would be disappointed if they took out gender options. It would be far from timely as well...
