ITS BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like it's still on the old engine, unfortunately. At least it wasn't some pre-rendered ********.

edit: watching it again, in acceptance of it still using the creation engine....the game does look pretty stunning regardless.
I would hope it would be at least using the Skyrim engine. The F3/NV engine had a LOT of bugs and problems. Especially at launch.

F3 was by far my favorite and I am looking forward to this. F4 it looking like a huge graphical improvement for sure judging by the gameplay. Some really good attention to detail. Cant wait to see the first use of the VATS system. :D

One thing I did notice in the trailer was the Washington monument, could this be the original Fallout 3 map, before they had to downsize it?

I don't understand why everyone is complaining about the graphics. Fallout was never about the graphics, the past two looked pretty crappy, it's all about the gameplay which is amazing..

Haven't been this excited for a game in years. :D

Just imagine a Fallout game with graphics, physics, and animations as good as GTA V. Just a thought.

I still think it looks stunning, but the character models have always been really stiff in TeS and FO games.

No it's definitely Boston. Pause the trailer at 2:04.

Unless you mean it includes DC as well.

I'm waiting for E3. Bethesda will show off some gameplay footage for sure now.

...And as for the settings, I just knew it. Boston, here we come. Better have some bank-robbing side quests, Bethesda!!

well it's an improvement over Skyrim. Notice how in Skyrim when a character or an animal tries to turn, they ended up rotating ? the dog in the trailer actually turns. Overall the animations looked great.

The graphics reminds me a bit of Dishonored though (that's not a bad thing).

I know, odd. Hope we still get to make our own character.

i think it's 100 % chance that we make our own character, maybe we could adjust how our character will sound ? i know Saints Row series has been able to do that.

A few of the locations remind me of Rage. In a good way.

Retranscribed for verisimilitude.

Post-patches, the three Bethesda games I own have been so absorbing as to qualify as entertainment bargains - less than a tenth of a penny per hour - but they have also convinced me that a day 1 purchase is utterly out of the question.

Oh sure, it'd be great, but it's not something that ever bothered me because of great the game itself is. :D

It seems like it'd be a bit much for all of that, you gotta compromise somewhere. Besides, it doesn't even look bad as it is.

I agree. F3 consumed hundreds of hours of my life with multiple characters. FNV consumed at least another 100. Each launched with an overwhelming amount of bugs. I wont ever buy a Bethesda game day 1 EVER again. Even with Skyrim I rented it for a week before deciding to make the purchase. The Skyrim engine ended up running fairly well.

I will wait at least a week for F4 and keep an eye on the community feedback along with reviews. If it turns out to be fairly bug free, then I will consider picking it up.

.... Looks like lots of weary first time buyers here, eh. I share your sentiments. Ha, a couple of years ago, I picked up NV GOTY edition on PS3 - this was after a relatively bug free run with FO3 on launch.
Imagine my shock when NV hit me with a plethora of bugs and glitches; I ended up sending an email to Bethesda pleading for a workaround that pretty much prevented me from doing 100% of the game.

They sent me a response with a shoulder shrug. :indiff:

Its fully understandable for those that have sunk hundreds of hours into Bethesda games. Some of the bugs were game ending and required to start a new character. Watch this video. Some of these bugs and glitches are very frustrating. Others are hilarious.

...:D I don't have to watch the vid, dude! I experienced most of those bugs first hand, plus the "10mb" save file glitch that froze the game. :boggled:

Yeah, having played both recent Fallouts on PS3 and PC, I can't help but feel that you'd have to be mad or desperate to buy a Fallout or Elder Scrolls game for a console. I'll never forget the time I was playing FO3 on my PS3, I was up in the northeast corner of the map and I got a notification pop up saying "Alastair Tenpenny has died!", despite Tenpenny Tower being quite a walk from where I was, that ruined at least one quest. In the PC version I encountered a bug where the game would crash if I entered a room to speak to someone for a quest, so I used the debug tools to kill him, respawn him where I was (in the Wasteland) and then after I spoke to him he ran off, presumably to go back to where he was supposed to be. Granted, I watched him get killed by a Cazador only 20 metres down the road but it wasn't my problem any more...

All I really want from Fallout 4 is better combat, fewer/no loading screens and fewer ridiculous bugs. The rest was pretty good. An extended draw distance and a more 'alive' world (kind of ironic when it's a wasteland, I guess) would be great, though.

Fallout on PS4, can't come soon enough. :) Just seen the trailer, looks OK to me, graphics are less important than a stable game going by previous GOTY/Ultimate versions on PS3 which were bugged beyond belief.

That looks amazing! Can't wait!

Speaking of bugs my first experience with Fallout was with 3 on the PS3. I didn't experience any major bugs with that. And then I bought New Vegas in 2012. Got a copy for just £10 and was super excited to play it. Got home put the disc in my PS3 and it wouldn't work. At all. Wouldn't even load the disc icon in the XMB. Took it back, got another copy and during certain conversations the game crashed. A friend of mine had a copy that had no gun or music sounds at all...

Definitely a PC purchase for me.

It's not the Washington Monument, it's the Bunker Hill Monument in Boston. Notice the building with the greek temple front.

Actually, judging by a few of these locations, this could be the most true-to-life fallout yet. Fallout 3 had quite a lot of real-life locations, but NV had basically none aside from the Hoover dam. It definitely looks to be the most urban FO yet.

In the spoiler you'll find the locations in-game with the RL counterparts in Boston

Excuse my lack of knowledge about Boston.

But yay, totally new map!

Great that they are bringing some 50's music back.

Wow, best news for a long time.
I for one will be day 1 purchase, never really had much problem with previous games, so up for this one.
I know it's early days but is there any rumour/talk etc with the time line with this compared to Fallout 3 and new Vegas. Don't expect an answer I just want the game.
