Woo hoo got my email!

Although this part is a little concerning: "You will receive the code within the next few weeks or months, as we are sending them out in several waves in the order of the purchase date of your ClubSport or CSR Elite wheel."

So, it could be a while. Hopefully as a CSWv1 beta tester I get in on an early shipment.

Yes, I thought it was THE MAIL... but it was just a mail to tell that I will receive another one without telling when.
... not sure that I know more after reading it than before

Thomas, should you read this,

I know for some reason you've decided to avoid responding to most of what I've written on public forums... Maybe that's a good thing for us both. However, I have a very public request to make:

My CPX adapter has I believe netted you a rather nice increase in sales over the last 7 months or so on your CSP V2 and CSR Elite pedals... Sales you would not have otherwise had. What do you say I get one of these "invites" to give to a person of my choosing?

I haven't received anything... Does purchasing a set of CSR pedals count?

Got my email too. Doesn't cast too much more light. However, I know I ordered my CSR Elite as soon as it was possible to so I expect to be in the first batch of codes.

Dear Giuliano
As an owner of the ClubSport or CSR Elite wheel, you have the privilege to be in the exclusive group eligible to purchase our new Fanatec ClubSport Wheel V2.

You will receive the code within the next few weeks or months, as we are sending them out in several waves in the order of the purchase date of your ClubSport or CSR Elite wheel.

I am going to try to sell my CSW v1. Do you all think $350 is a fair price for just the base (replacement unit received in May with new motors)?

That had a rim I am assuming?

Yes, it has a Rim but it is not a wheel with a quick release so I do not know what do buyers prefer... You can search for already sold items on eBay to have an idea about what is the usaul price..

That's kind of good news, I emailed Fanatec a couple of days ago asking when it's going to be available to the non CSW v1 / CSR-E users and they said they couldn't tell me that. If they are talking months for the distribution of pre/orders then I guess it won't be till well in to the new year :(

I have CSPv2, seat, buttkicker, formula rim and BMW rim all sitting ready to go, it's going to be a long wait..

Please don't forget me if you get a bonus code guys :)

It will be interesting to see how many V1 bases will hit the used market. I bet a lot of the decisions in getting a V2 will largely depend if you can sell your V1.
As mentioned in a previous post, forget the console market. V1 is dead to new consoles and only good for PS3.
Since I gather a lot may be put on the market right away it will definitely be a used buyers market. The more used CSW V1's are on the used lot sale the less $ you'll have to ask for to get it to move.

But the supply of V2 bases will be very limited to begin with, so its unlikely the market will be flooded with used V1's the instant the first V2 invite codes arrive.

Very true. I only use my Fanatec stuff on my PS3. I would assume the used market buyers will mostly be PC sim racers.

Why? The new coming next gen rim will be compatible with V1 too. The V2 base is also only compatible with PS3. Only the new coming next gen rims make it PS4/Xbone (not sure wich one will be supported) compatible.

That has not been stated explicitly by Fanatec....

I'm personally happy with my beta V1 and not looking to upgrade anytime soon. Meaning I will not use my pre-order code. Please don't flood with me PM's, but I will give to 1 person here when the time comes.

Now if the code is made specific per person/account, I will work to get it shipped here in the CONUS only. Hope all have been racing well!!!

According to the blog written by Thomas, he writes this:
"Not every customer will use his invite so go ahead and ask your friends if they use their invite of if they give it to you in case you are not on the list yet. It is possible and welcome to transfer invite codes."

This makes me believe you shouldn't need to have it delivered to you personally and then sent to your friend.

UPDATE:
I also found this blog, which states:
"How can I transfer a code?
In your webshop profile you will see a list of all your codes. If the code is still valid you will see a "transfer" button which will open up another page. On this page you need to enter the e-mail adreee of the recipient. The receipient must be registered with this e-mail address in the Fanatec webshop and he must be within the same region as you (Europe, USA / Canada, Australia or Japan)."

It also states that:
"How do I get such a code?
If you are already a customer of the Fanatec webshop then you will receive the code automatically. But you can also get a code from a friend as codes are transferable within the same region among members of the Fanatec community."

And:
"When will you send the invite codes?
The codes will be sent out in the coming months depending on the supply of the product. The codes will be sent according to the order date of your previous purchase (the older the higher priority) and in this order:
  • Owners of ClubSport Wheel Base V1
  • Owners of CSR Elite wheel
  • Owners of other Clubsport products: ClubSport Pedals, ClubSport Shifters, ClubSport Handbrake
  • All other customers"
So by the looks of it, as an owner of the CSP v2 pedals I will be getting an invite anyway at some stage, I will just have to wait a bit longer for mine.

Hope this clears it up - you will be able to transfer to someone within the US by entering their email address in to your system.
