Awesome news. Also some news about the CSW and CSS. I hope to see a CSW soon. I hope people will be happy with any of those first batch CSR E wheels during Christmas.

Now, dear Santa I don't need anything for Christmas but...

I just hope Thomas's "idea" of soon is not Kazunori Yamauchi's "idea" of soon.

Check this video, I think good promotion for Fanatec ;)
(Forza 4 BMW M5 compared with a real BMW M5 at the Nürburgring with Fanatec RennSport Cockpit Underfloor Edition, CSR Wheel, CSR Elite Pedals, CSR Shifter Set..)

Here is some fresh information from the production line in China.

We have started the production of the CSR Elite wheels and will start shipping very soon. As soon as the products are shipped we will start taking pre-orders

We should be able to ship a few hundred wheels in time for Christmas.

For the CSW we have started to prepare the material and will start production in a few weeks as well. And I am bringing home some samples of the CSS as well.

Interesting....

Who wouldn't Caz? Plus I've got a TH8 RS to compare it with now as well.
I wish Thomas would tell us some more details on what his goals are for the shifter though? Does he want it to be above a TH8 RS but below a Frex for example, but being closer in feel to the Frex. Things like that.

@Simracer: Nice video, especially if you can understand German like me. ;)

Very true LF. When i asked thomas if he had any design changes since the tm shifter release he said only the addition of a seventh gear. He also said the he wasnt surprised by anything in the th8. I for one do not see thomas settling for only matching the competition in his price bracket.
Personally, i am expecting something in line with the frex shifter, not that i have any experience with them.
Interesting to see if he uses HES sensors like the th8. Or does TM have that locked down for shifter use? I assume this is why TM did not use HES in their pedals, FANATEC may have the use of that technology for.pedals on lockdown. The fact that TM has used HES in the HOTAS WARTHOG flight sim for throttle use leads me to believe that is exactly the case

Just sold my CSR (with pain in my hart, dam thats a good wheel)

Now the waiting for the CSR Elite begins. The CSR Elite will be worth the though.

So Do any of you who won the competiton on gtp have the wheels... I gather Latte went through the official route of applying?

Good good :)

Sounds like you will get the retail version. Latte was yours retail boxing it is that not aloud to be discussed??

I thought Amar posted a thread awhile ago showing his shipment?

Sonac you still waiting? Yours is coming fresh from the production line mate.
The others Shaun and Darin have ragged 1000's of miles on.

Have fun.

Do not think their is much difference from the beta wheels Amar/myself and others got from what will be the retail version.

I do know of at least 1 thing but can't say.
Retail boxes are one of the last things to be done so no it wasnt retail boxed, I dont think that will alter the wheels performance or review though. Personally I do not get excited over "unboxing videos etc" yet I do expect the boxing to look nice as always with Fanatec.

Thanks to Caz, I will be comparing Daytona USA via X360 & PS3 this weekend to see if the wheel works better on one platform or the other with the same titles.

I'm still undecided on CSR-Elite pedals or CSP pedals... I'm 99.9% set on the CSR wheel even though the GT2 still tempts me from time to time. I just like the fact that the CSR has proper buttons for menu navigation and has that killer brushed aluminum wheel base... but I'm a Porsche fan and that GT2 wheel....

Ok..

I assumed he meant base because he said base... Silly me

*sarcasm*

And Latte I'm speculating the thing you can't talk about is a rim? Although I could be miles wrong LOL

I'm sure this has been asked before but, for $500> what does that include? Thanks

Don't know for sure obviously but my guess would be the wheel of course, the angled mounting brackets, power supply w/cord, serial cable to connect pedals and a USB cable. Typical package contents of current Fanatec wheels

For $500 you will get a great wheel with 4 motors (2 belt driven, means smooth, in the base and 2 in the wheel itself, so you can feel the brakes and the engine).

You will get a sensor, the one that registers the wheel turning, on the wheel axis and this should increase the precision by a large margin compared to other wheels.

You will get a carbon fiber wheel center and lots of controls on the wheel itself. The fancy glass top so you can see the mechanisms turning and last but definitely not the least - you will get a support for XBOX360, PS3 and PC and this, my friend, is exclusive.

If you think $500 is too much for all the above you can always get the CSR wheel which has almost all the above specs with half of the money.

Yes I meant the wheel, not the pedals. It's just a personal preference, I love brushed aluminum look especially on wheels. But that GT2 wheel is sexy... I just like having the buttons like a controller as the CSR has better and being the newer wheel I lean heavily towards that. I'm still undecided on CSP or CSR-E pedals.

Cuco33, your position is one I want to focus on as the pedal decision I think will not be an easy one to make for some people. If you could, would you please PM me about what your own thoughts are on each.

Your input would be welcomed in helping to form my own report which will compare both pedal sets.

Really? I thought all three were new from the assembly line. Oh well, at least I can say I've played with the exact wheels Darin and Shaun have!

I'm not sure if this has been asked already or if anyone can tell me yet, but can the CSR E or CSW hard mount to a Playseat Evolution? I've just started purchasing most of the equipment needed to run a decent setup like CSP, Playseat Evolution, and ... that's it at this point. I bought the Evo because it was a decent price and heard about the template to drill holes into it to hard mount it.
Well I can see that the base of the CSR E and CSW is different from past Fanatec wheels so I'm currently unsure about my newly purchased seat. I'm still within my 30 days (free shipping both ways), but I need to advice before I'm stuck with this thing. :nervous:

Thanks for your replies in advance.

I don't think Fanatec will change the mounting points just for the sake of changing those. I believe they have also thought about this and tried to create something that would be compatible with the current platforms/cockpits. So, I believe you are safe, however I don't have either of the wheels and cannot be 100% sure.

Maybe Latte can enlighten us, or someone else who also has the wheels.
