Hi,

Looking to buy GT3 RS V2 With clubsport pedals, but at £300 I want to make sure its up to the job.

I seem to get alot of conflicting reports on the wheels, the main one being it not self centering and moving off to one side. Also that the support seems to be patchy for the PS3, even though it states full support.

If any owners of this wheel could tell me if these statements have any truth to them.:nervous:

hey FANATEC. I was interested in getting a PURE edition. how quickly would it ship and where does the wheel ship from. i am in NY. also, does it come with an adapter for BOTH the g27 AND microsoft wireless wheel or do i have to pick 1 or the other? thanks

ok, great. how quickly would the wheel arrive with standard shipping? im looking to have it in plenty of time before gt5 but id love to get in some time with forza until then. also, can you link me to the paddles that come with the wheel? im just wondering, (and maybe others who have it can reply as well) what would be the best route to go with on this. i tried looking but i havent seen much on anything except the standard paddles. thanks again.

I'm kind of in a similar situation here. With November creeping up fast I'm looking to get a good wheel for GT5.

I'm stuck between an entry level wheel like the DFGT or something a bit more serious like the Fanatec Carrera. I know the gt25/27 is king but I'm not looking to spend that much.

Anyone have some suggestions? Keep in mind, I've never used a "real" racing wheel before. At this point I've only used cheap walmart wheels that have left me a bit jaded toward wheels in general. Also, I don't even have a proper mounting place for a wheel yet.. ugh!

DFGT is a superb wheel considering the money that costs, so go for it:tup:!

Using a GT3RS v2 wheel with clubsport pedals which I got set up today.
Have it mounted to a rennsport wheelstand and it's like having an epiphany.
A sudden burst of awesome just sitting in your hands, waiting for you to turn it.

Reasons for buying a GT3RS V2 wheel:

Alacantra leather steering wheel, just like in a real Gt3RS.

Massive amount of customizable settings(FF, ratios etc)

You can save up to 5 different settings, for example one for GT5P, one for F1 2010.

Grotesque Force Feedback. I had to reduce the output of it since, no bs, it tried to rip my hands off. The motor is what you'd usually use in a R/C car.

~30 cm diameter wheel. I think the G27 is ~27 cm(correct me here if I'm wrong)

Sturdy feel and construction of the wheel itself. It doesn't feel like a piece of plastic, but like a really well engineered tool.

Cons:

Quite the delivery time, if you'd order now, it'll ship mid November*ish*. At least if you live in Sweden.. :(

High price.

Set the FF too high and you'll brake something.

Just like Porsche themselves, Fanatec follows the trend of charging for stuff that really should be included, like a H-pattern shifter.

If you're not considering playing alot of racing games and just want a wheel, I guess a DFGT should suit your needs just fine.

But if you ARE going to play alot of racing games and have somewhere to set it up and if you want the shizzle, go for a GT3RS(v2) wheel. Preferably with Clubsport Pedals.

The Clubsport Pedals are also in a league of their own.

All aluminium construction, high precision magnets feel the brake pressure instead of the travel of the pedal, highly customizable(even without extra kits). If you want to shell out some more money there's a kit for customizing the springs and resistance etc., but if you're cheap like me you can just tweak the spring rate with a wrench if you for example want more or less travel of the gas pedal.

Another good thing about the wheel is that it is compatible with Logitech pedals. So if you've already got a G25 and don't want to spend the extra cash for a Fanatec set, you can use the G25 pedals with the Fanatec wheel. Atleast according to Fanatec.. :)

It feels like something you'd find in a real sports car.

Sorry for ****ty spelling, language, errors etc. I blame it on society. And that I'm Swedish.

Hi
I'm thinking to buy a GT3 RS Clubsport or a G27. I prefer Fanatec but unfortunately i don't have any money left for the shifters. Both of the wheels are already a bit expensive for me plus the Fanatec shipping is 30 euro for my country. Do you think the shifters would be an issue? Can i play just with the paddle shifters until sometime next year when the clubsport shifter is out and i saved some money, or would the G27 be a better choice?

I have the shifter, I only use it 20% of racing time. With Paddle shifters you cant use the clutch, but in the end its quicker and never have to mess up with the paddle shifters.

H shifter is fun, but in online you can always mist shift or shift without using clutch properly and loose lots of precious time.

Skip the shifter for now, also GT5 Prologue only has the clutch setup to be ON and OFF not progressive like in real cars, so maybe full game will fix the issue.

That is bad news. I'm not playing prolouge. I wanted to play some sim racing games. Only for F1 2010 i don't need the shifters. I though i can use the paddle shifters with the clutch. That means i would have only two pedals available, the break and throttle. The clutch is there just for decoration if you don't buy a shifter
