I’ve only had it occur when I press pause whenever there’s vibration produced. For example pressing pause while you’re driving over a kerb.

I’m more concerned that the “glitch” could possibly damage the wheel?

I haven't been able to replicate this again after the 1.17 update. No idea if it is fixed or not but I haven't experienced it again in many many hours of driving. I only experienced this issue once with the 1.15 and 1.16 update though.

Definitely seems to be related to strong FFB in the wheel and pausing, like pausing during a big spin or when hitting a wall or something, but I haven't been able to replicate it again so far.

It keeps happening.. believe me... every single 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 day.... :(

As a customer of Fanatec who recently bought this wheel I would like to share experience with Fanatec quality and Fanatec customer service.

So in case if you still choose to proceed with ordering CSL Elite Racing Wheel this might help you to justify paying extra $100 and order from Amazon.com instead of buying directly from Fanatec.com.

I placed my order on March 23rd for CSL Elite Racing Wheel, Clubsport V3 Pedals and Brakes performance package. I got invoice on March 26 and week later my Fanatec order has arrived.

Clubsport V3 Pedals arrived definitely in “lightly used” condition instead on “new”. But they are performing well so far, so I did not complain to Fanatec.

CSL Elite Racing Wheel arrived in “new” condition.

Do not get me wrong, this is a very pleasant product when it is working.

But since the first day it started to demonstrate the infamous “off-centering” issue.

The essence of issue is when you start online race with perfectly calibrated (centered) wheel, but after a couple of laps neutral steering position is becoming shifted left or right by significant amount.

This issue becomes more severe during subsequent laps, and it becomes impossible to drive unless you re-do calibration procedure or re-boot the wheel.

So if I would have ordered this Fanatec product through Amazon then I would be able to return the malfunctioning wheel same day when I got it.

Then I would get the new wheel within a couple of days.

But as I ordered it directly from Fanatec.com so I am still talking with Fanatec customer service.

Despite them admitting the problem (after I proceeded with their DIY cleaning of sensor and then making a video of an issue),

I am still not even close to getting a non-malfunctioning wheel.

So counting in time and efforts that I spent and will have to spend to resolve the issue, I think that extra $100 for peace of mind with Amazon.com is a good deal.

As a customer of Amazon.com I now appreciate the quality of their service even more.

Exchanging the product does not necessarily always solve the issue. If it is a setting issue or driver/firmware issue you can exchange the product 10 times and it will not work.

Therefore our team will make sure that you get a working product and not just a different one.

And rest assured that we do not ship any products which are "lightly used". Of course we do some testing with every single product in order to make sure that all works fine.

I received my CSL LC pedalset on 5 april with express shipping and sent a message the same day to fanatec.com that I received 2 different versions of the pedals. Got a message on 6 and 8 april that acknowleded the mistake and I would be getting a new LC kit (which was older version) and receive instrustion to send the older one back asap. The answer to my issue was fairly quick, so I was confident I was in good hands. The build quality of the pedals is great though!

However today is the 13th and I am still waiting for instructions and/or the correct LC kit. I tried emailing back, but have not received any info yet. I live in Europe so shipping should be quick.

So your issue is not isolated and perhaps the fact that larger companies like Amazon have such efficient (and automated) customer care. I am not sure if that is worth paying an extra 100. But for a company that exclusively sells via the internet you do would expect more efficient way to contact them. At least for brands who do sell in retailstore, you have a choice of which retailer's customer service. With Fanatec you are dependant on the quirks of their customer service.

It does not help you guys but I also want to share an opposite 'customer experience' --> I ordered recently a SQ1.5 shifter. Because of a Paypal "error" I had to wait a couple of days (my fault). Meanwhile I had two times mail contact with the Fanatec CS dept and they responded both times on the same day and gave me some usable advizes. Finally the payment was arranged yesterday about 17:30 (CET). Order processed and within 10 hours I received my shifter! And I ordered via regular transport. Yes I know Germany and the Netherlands are friendly neighbors but still...Delivery within 10 hours is fast in my opinion. Despite Friday the 13th.

I connected the shifter to the CSL Elite. Did the calibration routine (yes I forgot to read the manual...) and now I'm enjoying my new H shifter. The previous one (TH8A) will serve as an analog handbrake. Setup and installation of the shifter in combination with the CSL Elite was a piece of cake.

??? Your setup is for PC, ain´t it??? As your previous combination: TH8A and Fanatec Wheel, is a combination only compatible with PC, console vs Drive Hub, or... with Dirt 4 on a PS4 (to my knowlege..) :)

I have both a PC and PS4(Pro) and TH8A worked also fine on PS4 until recently with AC

I am also from the Netherlands. I also received my CSL LC really quick. I guess I overpaid for express shipping. I can be very impatient though... we dutch are spoiled with the majority of webshops offering free next day delivery. So that was all great, aftersales is however not as quick.

Stop going off track? :P

But seriously, if you can try to get a video and get it sent to @Fanatec... I am sure they are probably aware and will relay this to PD. I made a post in the GT Sport official forums here as well: http://community.eu.playstation.com...gly-shakes-and-needs-to-be-reset/m-p/25625200

Might help for people regularly experiencing to post there as well. PD devs actually monitor this forum and are pretty good about responding.

I am sorry, looks like I derailed product discussion to Customer Service discussion.

I guess, I was just frustrated.

I recognize that during next 24 hours after my yesterday message (in this thread) big progress was observed in handling my case.

I got instructed how to make a return and now I am waiting for replacement to arrive.

And I am grateful to all the nice people who reached out to me.

Having said that, extra $100 for Amazon advantages are not for everybody.

And of course it looks weird to pay extra for exactly same product.

But for me (and maybe some people like me) free time is so rare and precious that it might make sense to pay for it.

Just sharing opinion for those who interested:)

Looking forward to see how replacement wheel will perform.

I hope it is ok to just use default game and wheel settings with Blue mode and firmware 335.

Good luck and wish you to successfully resolve issues that just temporarily prevent you from using very pleasant products.

With proper assistance it should not take long.

The issue is only the shaking that crops up when you enter understeering... it cntinues.. and only finishes if you disconect the wheel...

You are absolutely right. Amazon is what allowed me to return my ridiculously overpriced and overrated TGT after 3 weeks of use. Money back no questions asked. My csl has been trouble free except for the game developer issues that are currently being addressed.

More belts means more friction and flex, which means that the effects in FFB will be weaker and less clear. If the friction is too high the fine details in the FFB will be completely lost. With dual belt you have to balance between belt tension and friction(CSW V2.5 is somewhat an exception). With single belt you can add more tension in the belt and have less friction than dual belt drive.
CSW V2.5 is somewhat an exception because the metal construction allows large bearings for less friction and more tension in the belts. But still meet the concept of CSW V3:

Super_gt I am a happily married heterosexual man, but you are downright sexy when you go all technical on FFB and fanatec gear!

...maybe biased because I am a fanatec owner.

Just needed to be said.

So finally received a message today after 1-2 weeks and they are sorry, but have no more stock of the CSL LC kit (new version). So I received the choice to either return the complete pedalset or just live with the pedalset that has 2 kind of finishes. Even though they already explained they made a mistake. In response, I asked if it is ok, to keep the older version of the LC kit and exchange it when the newer version is available. If not I might be forced to send everything back, since it annoys me that the middle pedals has a different finish then the rest. It is like having a matte wrapped car and having a random panel still having metallic paint.

Does anybody here received the new version of the CSL LC pedals?

 I realised after reading. I have edited the message down to a question to other members.

Ps: Spoke with Customer service and were very quick this time and were understanding and forthcoming. So for people with issues, be patient, they do try their best to help.

Anyone else's wheel do this in blue and purple mode? I have a ticket with Fanatec and gave them the link to my video below.

It's one of two drawbacks with the wheel. The other is when in blue mode, the wheel just clunks along when the tires lose grip, so I've gone back to purple mode. I really love the enhanced steering accuracy over the T300.

In the tuning menu, try adjusting dri setting to -5 (minus 5). See if that helps :)

Did you set positive values in the drl?

Edit: Btw, that loud clunking noise when losing grip is the reason why I went back to purple mode. With my settings I can feel as much as in blue mode. Also I managed the "wobble" problem in purple mode. For me, there is no reason to go for blue mode until PD gets the work done properly. But this may differ for other people of course.

Honestly I don't recall, but that may be it since two people recommended that :)

I have positive values on DRI... I like it that way.. :)

Curious if anyone's had the issue I'm having and had luck getting it resolved.

My wheel shuts off randomly after use. Happens on multiple power outlets, on PC and PS4. Ranges from a few minutes of use to after 30 minutes of use for when it occurs. I had done two repairs now with Fanatec. The first time they swapped the board, not sure what else but the issue was still there. I learned in my troubleshooting that the power cord when wiggled around enough would cause the wheel to shut it off. I sent it back for the 2nd repair. I got it back, and the wiggle issue was fixed, but it still shut off on me.

Thinking it might be the wiring in my apartment, I took the wheel to a friends place where it worked for an hour. So my next thought was to try a plug I normally use my vacuum on, since that has a lot of power draw. I ran an extension cord to do that, and the wheel worked great for 3-4 weeks. Then a couple days ago, it happened again. My landlord got an electrician over yesterday and I tested it out while he monitored the power draw at the breaker. I got the wheel to shut off twice while doing FFB tests, with the power draw ranging 0.5-0.8Amps and the voltage between 121 and 122V.

I'm probably going to return it. But I really wish this wheel would work, cause when it does it's awesome. There's very few other options that support the PS4. So I wonder if there's anything else I should try here.

Just an update. I turned off the DRI setting on the wheel and the issue is gone. Thanks guys!

So your already planning a “heavy duty” mod to cool the base?💡
Here it is:
