A plastic wheel connected by a plastic quick-release to a 15Nm base sounds just about par for the course for Fanatec (as the owner of a high-powered base I can't see how that combination is supposed to work.)
After marketing (they sugar daddy virtually any >1k subs sim-racing Youtuber in return for "honest" and "independent" reviews) and screwing their costumers, bad engineering/manufacturing decisions is the thing they do best.
I wouldn't be surprised if the wheel or QR breaks even before the pedal port comes loose (it's seemingly still only a couple of tiny solder blobs that keeps the ports in place, which isn't what you want if you're looking for longevity).
Edit: @Jump_Ace: they claim they aren't allowed to sell the rim alone.
