Im still confused, what rim i need for use the dd1 on ps4?
All wheels who tagged with ps4 rdy symbole works???
All steering wheels on that list will function on the PS4 version of the Podium wheel base, but please note that the PS4 version is only planned to be sold as a 'Podium Racing Wheel', which is the combination of a PS4 licensed version of a DD1 AND a new Formula-style steering wheel.

The reason why all of our current range of steering wheels work on the PS4 is because the base will contain a Sony security chip and is appropriately licensed. The standard DD1 and DD2 wheel bases are NOT PS4 compatible, and no optional steering wheel can enable compatibility. The Podium Racing Wheel package is very much like the CSL Elite Racing Wheel for PS4 package in terms of compatibility.

OK,
that means that ps4 dd1 will cost more then 1000€ because of this f1 rim?
I dont want a f1 rim.
edit: Im rdy for order it now, but still confused so i dont hit the buy button.
Is the ps4 dd same price? Is there a optional choice of rims or only that f1 thing?

@DomB_Fanatec do you intend to license officially PS4 stand alone Podium wheel base like CSL Elite wheel base +?

I do not think they will give you the base for 1000€ and this F1 steering wheel for free.
Is there a optional choice of rims or only that f1 thing?
No, for now only that F1 thing.

I apologize for the double post.:embarrassed:

If I have to bet when the details and price of the PS4 Podium Racing wheel will be announced I would bet on September 14th.

(Note that this is complete speculation on my part)

Hey guys. So the podium wheel base for PS4 will be released this September ?? Are you sure ?? Because i already ask Fanatec they said probably it’ll be released on January 2019. And that is still probably also.

All these rims are compatible with the DD1? I'm 99% sure but I want to be 100% sure.
I dont know, its all just more and more confusing, everyone tell something diffrent. First they said the dd1 will be ps4 compatible, now its not compatible, The rims are not compatible only the f1 rim.....
I think i will spend my money now to a nice new 24" ride cymbal LOL

There are no plans for that at this stage.

The full range of Fanatec rims, including the CSL Series, are compatible with the DD1 and DD2. However the console compatibility is determined by security chips and licenses; some of our wheels are suitable for Xbox One, whereas all of our wheels are suitable for PS4 but only if used with a PS4-licensed wheel base.

We have never stated that the DD1 is PS4 compatible. There is an entirely separate direct drive system based on the DD1 design that is PS4-licensed. This is called the 'Podium Racing Wheel' as it will only be sold with a steering wheel included. This base is compatible with ALL Fanatec steering wheels, but will only be sold with the formula-style rim.

Thanks. I have no PS4, so that won't be an issue.

Hehe, now i get it.... LOL
THX for clear things up.
The dd for ps4&pc is called "Podium Racing Wheel" and will include a rim.
And all ps4 tagged rims are compatible with this Podium Racing Wheel.
:crazy::D

:gtpflag:

edit: one thing... Some of the older rims will make the Podium Racing Wheel run with limited/lower strength. Is that true or was i hallucinating again? :boggled:

For those steering wheels that have plastic semi quick release system the power will be limited.
The power for the CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3 will not be limited if the optional ClubSport Quick Release Adapter is mounted on the steering wheel.

I wonder if the CSL wheels and the McLaren wheel rim without the Quick Release mod, would trigger a low powered mode, due to their plastic connection. I doubt the wheels with a metal quick release would need a low powered mode. Especially seeing the QR is keyed, and it has the rubber wedge to keep it tight on the Podium bases.

The DD1 and DD2 may work on the PS4 through the DriveHub. They will almost certainly work with GIMX.

Probably, but there are drawbacks to that. You'd lose some of the bases functionality, and button mapping would be restricted to what wheel the Drive Hub is emulating. For me, I could only fool my XB1 into thinking I had a Logitech G920 connected. On P-Cars 1, I couldn't map the clutch pedal and the "LSB" and "RSB" buttons on my CSR weren't mappable. Then Degrees of Rotation had to be handled in the game's settings. I recall not being able to change the settings on the CSR. That may have changed, cause the team at Creative Minds have constantly updated the Drive Hub, but by the time the second update happened, I completed my PC build and put the XB1 into the Family room.

The clubsport universal hub works with the PRW (Podium Racing Wheel) without that strength limitation?
That would be my choice then, so i can use my old t500 rim LOL :dopey:

Yes, there are drawbacks but with GIMX you can map the buttons however you want.

They should have done a blind test. My guess is that the results would have been all over the place. :)

Gamer muscle seem like a guy with some integrity and no bias towards Fanatec in particular. He said it was in par with OSW and no superlatives.

Eagerly waiting for the Sim Racing Garage review.

I'm still leaning towards the Fanatec DD wheel instead of the OSW. But I want to know how the FeelVR performs as well.

People, please stop talking about the DD1 and DD2. The more I read about these DD wheels, the more I want one.

:P + :D =

Well everyone is trying to get hype in order to buy them day one, lol

Just saw this on the iracing forums, it’s a 9Nm DD wheel with a lot more road detail in comparison to a CSW V2.5 according to the reviewer, great for those folk that don’t want a bigger motor

P.S. forgot this thread was for the Fanatec DD wheels, if this offends someone please delete
