Stupid of Fanatec to repeat the original Clubsport blunder. Yeah... I sat there for hours back in 2012, trying to get my order in, while the website was being DDOS'ed, because they had announced the exact time when the new products would be up. Count on Fanatec's website being down from 8 to 23.00 on Friday the 13th...

Good thing I'm not superstitious. Although I don't mind rocking that song till the timer ends. :P

Looks like Thomas will be at Crystal Lake instead of in Landshut. And I knew there was a more sinister reason he shaved his beard.

reason he shaved his beard.
His name is Jackermeier, Thomas Jackermeier!

This is going to be a great landmark for sim racing. I'm personally hoping it has PS4 support, then I will likely get it. These wheels should even be handy for strength training, so many benefits!

Thomas if you are reading this, please give me one for free to test drive for a few months (Worth a try ;-)).

And... I'm hoping for a stupid, incredible, insanely high price to scare away the peasants, so I can get a wheelbase without waiting for months. Please bring back the invite system Fanatec! And please charge me 2000 euro for a 20nm wheelbase.

You know... You can get a 30nm wheel for a little over half that. Yes, it may not have console compatibility but the current consoles will never give you your money's worth out of a direct drive wheel. And don't get all Philip J. Fry on us just yet. Fanatec still hasn't revealed the Podium wheel yet.

I already own a Sim-Plicity SW28 open sim wheel, so bring it on...

Hi, please tell me what version, sincos or incremental? How would you rate the smoothness on a scale 1-10 compared to a t500 or your last wheel?

I saw a vid what explained this sinco/incre different. So sinco must be the better/smoother one. Is there a big different in practical using the sinco one or is it just higher in theory?

I changed the Incremental 10.000ppr encoder to a SinCos 2M myself. The system is modular like a PC, so you can change and upgrade most parts. The difference between is barely noticeable, the SinCos encoder does feel a tiny bit smoother, but the feeling is similar to adding filtering to the force feedback. The OSW doesn't feel a world apart in smoothness compared to a Fanatec CSW 2.5, but the Thrustmaster T500 is probably the worst wheel you can get in this regard. The Thrustmaster has waaaayyy too much internal friction because of the old non-brushless motor and the belt drive. So I guess on a smoothness scale from 1-10, the T500 is a 2, the Fanatec CSW 2.5 is 8 and the OSW is 9. (Nothing will get a perfect 10, cause there's room for improvement).

An LCD screen on the base of the new DD wheel would be special. An LCD screen which you can use to show gearchange, RPM, water, oil, tire t° etc ... .

Kind of a MoTeC dash.

Why you would want a insanely high price? Why you care about others? In 4 days we won't have the release of the DD. At best they will open the preorder and probably at the end of the summer they will ship them for the preorders. Just make the preorder as soon as pop up and high or low price you will be granted of the first batch.

Whaaah 5hours longer to wait? NOOOOOO....
Hm, screen was taken 6am, now its 12am and countdown timer say 4d 5h xx
germany here, maybe other time zone?:scared:

You have got to be kidding me. 5 more hours. Come one @Fanatec... .

We are all nervous wrecks for this precious wheel to be released and you added fiiivvveee more hours?

The countdown is just for a Facebook live stream. Sorry if everyone else saw that already, but for some reason I just noticed it.

They do a live streaming and then they open preorder. They need to know how many base they need to produce for the first bach. They were slow for the McLaren rim, God saves us for a DD base. Open preorder now, send the base in September/October
