Thanks for the explanation. I figured it had to be something more than just easier on and off. Did you feel a difference in driving?
I have always run the most torque I can handle and the difference for me between the QR1 and 2 is enough to justify the cost. No more creaks or other untoward noises from the QR at all after my upgrade and I only have the DD Pro so less torque than the extreme. It's much better than the QR1 was for me.

I've heard creaks and popping noises but it seems it's coming from the rim itself especially in the Universal Hub.

I don't have any universal hub wheels. Only a formula 2.5x and a Clubsport round. They are both super solid.
 
I guess the deal is done.. Corsair owns them now.
Kireth is just a little tiny bit over dramatic. LOL
