'Everyone wants to be Cary Grant. Even I want to be Cary Grant.'
- Archibald Leach (April 1955) as quoted in T&C (Feb 2016.)

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

- Timo Cruz in Coach Carter (2005)

Before you leave I want to tell you something. Not about the others, but about myself. I used to go to pieces. I'd see an accident like that and be so weak inside that I wanted to quit - stop the car and walk away. I could hardly make myself go past it. But I'm older now. When I see something really horrible, I put my foot down. Hard! Because I know that everyone else is lifting his.

Someone once told me that time is a predator that stalked us all our lives,
but I'd rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and
reminds us to cherish every moment... because they'll never come again.
What we leave behind is not as important as how we've lived.
After all, Number One, we're only mortal.

Well, I think it's good for a show to go off the air before it becomes stale and repetitive.

- Marge Simpson, season 12, episode 13.

"Hey Dad, how come they're taking The Cosby Show off the air?"
"Because Mr. Cosby wanted to stop before the quality suffered."
"Quality, schmuality! If I had a TV show, I'd run that sucker down to the ground."
"Amen, boy. Amen."

- Bart and Homer Simpson, season 2, episode 21.

"There are many reasons why we haven't been visited by aliens. Maybe they're already here, and our eyes can't perceive them. Maybe we just haven't been discovered yet. Maybe; we are alone. Or, maybe we're just not worth it. So what are you waiting for?! Live your life in a way that makes travelling thousands of light-years just to hang out with you; worth it!"
-Michael Stevens, vsauce

One of my all time favorite quotes from video games. Language warning.

"Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact... same ******* thing... over and over again expecting... s*** to change... That. Is. Crazy. The first time somebody told me that, I dunno, I thought they were bulls***ing me, so, I shot him. The thing is... He was right. And then I started seeing, everywhere I looked, everywhere I looked all these ******* 🤬, everywhere I looked, doing the exact same ******* thing... over and over and over and over again thinking 'this time is gonna be different'"
Vaas, Far Cry 3

(if this is still not censored enough, can a moderator edit it to make it better?)

I don't think that insanity quite is original to video games. I've heard that somewhere before, maybe in a movie or something.

It went something like - "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expect to get a different result."

It's really bugging me now as to where I heard it...

I feel like I've heard it somewhere else as well, but the way it's delivered in the game is just perfect, IMO

Life can hold you down
When you're not looking up
Can't you hear the sounds?
Hearts beating out loud
Although the names change
Inside we're all the same
Why can't we tear down the walls?
And show the scars we're covering

"There’s a lot of beauty in ordinary things. Isn’t that kind of the point?"
-Pamela Beesly-Halpert

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters."

- Jane Austen, opening lines of Pride and Prejudice
