IN ASSOCIATION WITH
Invites YOU to a pre-season Ferrari Challenge Online Event, next Saturday, December 20th, starting at 11:00 PM (GMT)2008
The purpose of this pre-season event is to check on various settings for the season's races, concerning different aspects like hosting, lag issues, lobby stability, communication between players and how-to check on results.
Since we'll be testing this trying to find where is the limit of this game's online features, we'll have only one room, with a maximum of 16 players (and I ask all interested to use your headsets, if you have them).
The room will be hosted by me as a private room, meaning you guys will get in by invites. Any interested player not on my friends list can send me a friend request (PSN ID: GTP_Hun).
We will be racing this car
because it's impossible not to have it from the start of the game. So, if you don't have a copy of FC now, you can still buy it tomorrow, fire up the game and you'll have the car needed to enter this pre-season test.
Since we'll try to replicate (in a "1 big lobby configuration") what will happen in each of the 2009 weekly events, we'll do five races set to a duration of 10 minutes. I also want to know how long that'll be because I'm having this mad idea about having at least one longer race per weekend in the full event.
And, as it is planned for the full event, one of those five races will be a "wet race".
So, these are the races for tomorrow:
FIRST RACE - DRY
SECOND RACE - DRY
THIRD RACE - DRY
FOURTH RACE - DRY
FIFTH RACE - WET
SECOND RACE - DRY
THIRD RACE - DRY
FOURTH RACE - DRY
FIFTH RACE - WET
Any interested racers should apply here in this thread and be ready to receive my game invite tomorrow at the scheduled hour (11:00 PM GMT). Because only one room will be hosted, with a maximum capacity of 16 players, (host + 15), that means you must be one of the first 15 to apply, or else I'm very sorry but you won't be able to make it.
Let's have fun. And remember, tomorrow we'll just test, results aren't important, what is important is to understand how the "FC Online Event", due to start next January, can be run in the most pleasant way possible.
One last important notice: applying for this test doesn't mean you apply for the 2009 event. And of course not applying for this test doesn't mean you won't be able to apply for the 2009 event.
Meet you racing tomorrow!
