dont worry matt. I'll be there to make you look good. If your really not that good, we can have some good racing at the back.

don't expect too much from me guys, not raced at most of these tracks. What settings is everyone using? i've got FF medium, wheel sensitivity hight and pedal sensitivity high. Not sure if this is the right set up, not had chance to test all combinations.

The same thing for me. Lets just have some fun tonight!! Concerning settings i think you should lower your pedal sensitivity to medium.

Russrobbit, send me a friends request ASAP! You're in of course.

Guys, I am devastated, but my headset just doesn't seem to want to work now. Keep an eye here and to whatever Marchbrown will tell you. I won't be able to talk in the lobby.

I just got in the door with the game 30 minutes ago, it updated and I haven't even seen a car yet. So watch out for me

Edit: Dang, I just realized I wasn't logged in under my gtp tag, oh well.

I'm trying with the bluetooth headset for my mobile phone. it must work, someone is chatting away in the lobby lol. don't know who it is though, need to turn my menu music down.

Hold on a minute, we definitely need to split the event in two lobbies, wait for an invite either from me or Marchbrown ...

Im kind of new into this myself. GTP_Hun is the man. If you get a DC or something else you actually need a new invite. It looks like the game dosnt handle more than 10 racers. I think we need to make grids with only 8 drivers but we'll do some more testing before we make it a statement.

Been punted out twice by the same driver first at Silverstone and now the Redwood or whatever track. Im leaving this race

I noticed you parked up. shortly after that most people got DC leaving 2 drivers in race.

At the start of Spa, my car seemed to be out of control, ended up in the wall. Then I got disconnected after a couple of laps of running alone way behind. Then got into Silverstone, and after a few laps got disconnected. I had similar problems with online racing with GT5P. I'm parking it for the night. Good luck to everyone.

VentureDenny, send me a friends request ASAP, the lobby is open and waiting!

OK, I just realized you ment send a friends request thru the Playstation network. Not thru this forum. Oops, sorry.

I gave up myself. I think it's pretty clear that lobbies with more than 6-8 players just don't work. People speaking sounded like mumbling and every race (except Silverstone) I kept losing connection to the lobby at some point. The most disappointing was Montreal just one lap from the end. ARGH!!!

It's really a shame because I had a good time while it lasted. Appreciation to Hun for putting this together.

Thanks for the raceing everybody. Specially a big Thanks to GTP_Hun for the work put down to do this event. I think GTP_Hun learned a lot concerning a bigger race event. For me the biggest problem was the lag - and of course lack of knowing tracks well enough. The online chat was rubbish too.

Ya, thanks to GTP_Hun for organizing everything. I managed to stay connected for every race and I think I was the only one (only two people finished Villeneuve). So the host doesn't have to stay connected to finish the race unlike GT5P. The most fun racing was on Silverstone with jjaisli with several position changes. Unfortunately the changes were usually due to a mistake from one of us.

Sorry Matt, I got you twice on Villeneuve. Made it through a bunch of people cleanly then rear ended you near the beginning and made an ill-advised pass attempt later.

Some pretty bad lag. I saw energiya in my rearview mirror going off the track and the next thing he warps over top of me and pushes me off the track.

It's ok mate. i would have drove myself off at some point anyway.lol. Sorry i had to miss the last few races, had to pick my wife up, my turn for taxi duty.

Learned a lot tonight, I'm glad I did this and of course the first thing I want to say is THANK YOU ALL to cooperate in this pre-season test/event/whatever you want to call it.

You guys can't believe the stress I was put under tonight. I'll write about it and the conclusions I got (and post the results) a litle later, now I have to smoke a cigar (yes, a bloody cigar, cigarette just won't do it), and get something to drink with lots of ice. I need to cool down.

Zathra 5, I dont remember that. What track was it .

BTW, i sent you a friend request

It was on Tremblant. It was really strange. One second you were running off the track (on the opposite side) behind me. The next second your car was warping around my car. I think my car was inside your car at one point. I would guess the only thing you saw at that point was me running off the track in front of you (like I did many times tonight). Lag does some bizarre things.

I bet it would of hurt with my car wraped around yours. you sure you still have a pulse, or should i call an Ambulance.

Disappointing, but not altogether surprising.

Some of the time the chat seemed to work - I could hear others, apparently they could hear me, but most of the time there was nothing or incomprehensible mumbling - perhaps it was Portuguese. ;)

The races that were completed with, more or less, all drivers: Silverstone, Tremblant, Ricard looked to me like most other online races: pretty smooth when the cars weren't too close, stuttering when close - no better or worse than usual. Spa was OK for me except a number of the drivers seem to have been kicked out (I finished the race OK). Montreal was a complete disaster with everybody getting kicked out (I think). E when I was following you at Montreal, there was a period where your car was jumping all over the place, like GT5P lag, before we all got kicked out.

I'm not sure that we can run big grids anyway, but if we do, the only way to do it, IMO, is to have reverse fastest times, rather than "random", with the fastest at the back of the grid. That way, at least the faster drivers will be grouped together, because otherwise the driver starting towards the back has no chance against a a fast driver starting at the front, & the result will be no close races.

Personally, I think the idea of "pools" of 4 drivers, would result in less technical problems, AND closer more exciting races for everybody.

Matt and I finished at Montreal. It was my only win :) It was strange that GTP_Hun could get kicked but we could still finish the race.

Until I get a little more practice in, I would rather the slower people start at the back. I may only get a competitive race with one or two people around me but at least I don't get in the way of someone who is faster. I started in front at Ricard but went off on the first corner to let everyone pass.
