February 14 Bounty Hunter - Alan Hartman

I am behind at Daytona now by 4+ tenths of a second, I will try a few more times, but it's not likely I can get my time down and beat him. I've had better success at Le Mans, I dropped down to a 402.918, off by 2 tenths of a second. But there is hope, as I have had my split time down to -1.4 secs on the front stretch, only to lose it on the back stretch or dirty my lap on one of the corners. What REALLY gets me is, the 2 switchbacks at the end. Ugh! You get a penalty for the lap you're on, AND the next lap! C'mon now! The handling on that GT, over steer? The back stretch has lots of turns that it's so easy to lose time on. You have to be so gentle and have the correct attitude approaching the turns.

If that happens to you, use rewind and do the corners again. Your lap will still be dirty for using rewind, but you start the next lap clean. This also works if you mess it before the Dunlop tire, rewind all the way back before crossing the line, and the lap will start clean.
As for the switchbacks, break early because its more important to come out with speed for the straight. Good luck!

Oh I forgot about the rewind. I haven't used it since Forza 5? I remember now that you can do that. Thanks for the tips! I just did a 4:01.xxx but it was a dirty lap. Ugh. However, it gives me faith that I CAN do it!

Man you got this! Bring it on home for us.

Is this event over yet? Has anybody so far recieved the gift cars?

It seems like this rivals event went on forever.

Finally, the end is near. I’m getting tired of beating his times over and over. He’s retried this event more times than the other rivals. His driving on the Daytona track is a lot more aggressive than his previous runs. He’s downshifting into 1st and 2nd more often and taking the inside more as well. It’s kinda like someone else was driving this last time he posted.

I *think* I posted a low 1:46.xxx at Daytona; not sure how I managed that. I bested his time at La Sarthe, but only barely. That car model is messed up.

The event appears to be over. I had just finished around 8 laps at Le Mans, lowering my time to a 4:02.123, (I already had him beat by .215 and was trying to get a 4:01.xxx). When I finished, I was going to try again at Daytona, but both events were gone from the Rivals Menu when I exited. I was unable to get any lower than a 1:48.516. The 2017 Ford GT just isn't my car, the understeer killed me on the 'Y" infield section, and I just could not squeeze any more time out for the life of me. I gave it a good shot but came up short. Well at least I won 1 of the 2! Kudo's to all the drivers who bested him and thanks for everyone for the tips and help!!!

Aww man I tried to beat his current time right before work today. I was gonna try again after I got home but if it’s closed then I’m outta luck. The understeer is annoying in that car then it oversteers if you give it too much gas in 2nd and a bit in 3rd. The old GT40 was very very loose, especially for a race car.

Wait, the other FE reward car was a Mustang? Didn't I read somewhere that it was a Mini Cooper??? I already have the 93 Mustang Cobra FE, so that would be a repeat, correct? Oh Wow! then I am SO glad that I didn't put in all those hours trying to beat Alan Hartman's time at Daytona, only to WIN A CAR THAT I ALREADY HAVE! Whew! What a relief. I haven't driven any of the reward cars yet. I was super excited to get the Forza Edition cars, but honestly I am just as excited to test drive the MG and the GT3 RS. Too bad this weekend will be the warmest of the winter. I'll have to resist going cycling, to do some virtual driving!

So happy to own a GT3 RS now!

Bittersweet feeling. Great to finally have it but equally irritating how we have had to wait so long for no good reason, not to mention the disappointing circumstance for those who will realize they missed the event. On the other hand, the MG (DLC) was a logical and perfect incentive to stay on top of theses time-limited community events.

The Mini is a league prize so you probably read it something related to that, can’t remember if it’s a weekly or overall one though.

What are the stats on the MG?
1958 MG MGA Twin-Cam. The car is Gifted 'stock', with homologation parts acquired but not installed.
Stock - 108 HP, 104 Torque, Wght 2192, FR% 54 Speed=4.1 Handling=3.8 Acceleration=5.1 Brake=3.6 Rating= E232
Homologation - 236 HP, 213 Torque, Wght 2020, FR% 54 Speed=5.3 Handling=4.6 Acceleration=7.5 Brake=4.6 Rating=C450
*Please Note I didn't use all the Homologation parts, so my stats will differ from other set ups

I'm surprised I managed to get the Forza Edition gifted for beating the Le Mans challenge. I only gave my flying lap one attempt. Anyway, I wish I could auction it off to someone who wants the car more than I do. :grumpy:

The XJ220 FE can’t be auctioned off or be sold for any credit value meaning it will forever sit in my garage gathering virtual dust.

I use the Forza Edition cars for CR farming. For the most part, none of them are competitive in any of the Multiplayer or League Hoppers, ( there are a couple of exceptions ). So, I just use them in Free Play events to max out my Credits. But, I'm at 28+ million CR now, so that has worn out its usefulness. I haven't even driven the XJ220 yet, and I usually drive the FE cars immediately after receiving them.

I have a feeling we will be seeing a new Bounty Hunter event this week. My guess it will be a St. Patricks' Day themed event, as there is a "Lucky" themed Driver Gear I see that is locked that could be a potential prize. Who knows? there could be a car too? Any guesses on what the event will be?
