I mean in competition, there's no reason anymore why you wouldn't use no ABS when almost everyone has a wheel and even with controller its drivable. There's lots of time to get used to it before the 1st official race and you just get used to it while driving.

Alonso have start some time ago also a Ferrari f1 league and he sai me when we banned it we lost drivers.
And that is not good.
All drivers should say yes or no then we know that.

I think anyone who knows the fundamentals of driving can get used to this very quickly while driving. Tony , there's brake balance , its not really problem for anyone who knows what the fundamentals are. The fair thing about banning ABS is that its the same for everybody but its also a good thing for the competition of our championship , championships have to be as competitive as possible. I hope everyone who is signed up right now would understand this , and you can try no ABS while your driving and soon enough you'll know it is perfectly drivable and you'll treat braking like reality. Lets see the feedback then

I think for most F1 drivers , they are able to get used to new things.
traffic is fine you'll get used how real braking works.

Also, can I suggest no ABS? Tried it a few weeks ago and it works quite well.

While I'm a fan of running it no ABS. My experience has shown me you'll lose way more people than it's worth. Honestly you already have some admirable yet lofty goals. As Rich (Mustard) says about 50% of the commitals rarely show. Apparently people have lives and things to do. Suckers. Plus we are trying to match the schedules of people across 9+ time zones.

I am part of what convinced you to use no ABS and now you do too.



Real braking is like this



look at 1:00, of course there will be errors , its part of the race. Its very easy to make errors but that's how the gaps are made.

I use cockpit view and no instrument panels (no tachometer) because I have been in a real F1 simulator in Ferrari World though only for -5 minutes , I got the feel for it and I did make a lap, you know when people say the f1 cockpit view is not realistic , well when I got in the real F1 cockpit (its carbon fiber tub)on the F1 simulator , the view is actually even lower than the view in GT5. Its like lying on your bed! And you know when people say F1 cars are not hard to drive , well when I drove that f1 simulator, the oversteer was enormously huge even when your not sliding , the car was very turbulent and twitchy although I did the best of what I could do with the given time and controlled it very well. Teams , Drivers before new grand prix tracks rely on simulators like in 2009 when Abu Dhabi was a completely new track to everyone , every driver relied on it and even if its not a new track.

To ban ABS is a very good idea but again Tony says wait and see what others are gonna say about it!

Agreed. Although I am not participating in this league, it is important to put gameplay over realism. If people can't drive/don't like to drive without ABS turning it off will only make people mad an increase on track incidents. It wont improve gameplay. As much as anyone would like to think otherwise, GT5 isn't "The real driving simulator" it claims to be. It is simply a racing game with good gameplay. That is what keeps people coming back to play more. You must find the balance between realism and gameplay if this league is to work.

You havent tried it...

You dont have to be a professional race car driver when there is brake balance , try it online.

Use that and dont use ABS and then give your opinion

Tony I still dont agree because theres only been 1 guy in our series thats made a reply but hasnt tried it either , the others are not from our series.

And if you try it then youll know because most and almost everyone here are giving opinions without trying it yet , try it online with a realistic brake balance. Its not difficult on the F1 when you actually try it with the right brake balance.


I just dont like abs personally because the braking distance is unrealistic when you have 10 10 , in reality even if you had 10 10 , it wont make the distance that much shorter because the ABS would not allow it due to the available grip. In GT5 it does make braking distance much shorter with ABS regardless of the grip available allowed by ABS.

Reventon feel free to use no ABS, I know you will. I will be using ABS this series, unless banned of course. I haven't driven the F10 enough no ABS to do it for points. F2007 ok, but not F10 for me. Just find another no ABS guy for your team and have at it. I ran no ABS all but the wet race with Mustard, Artmann, you and Endless before, and didn't complain when I didn't win. So go ahead and run no ABS for McLaren, it's your call.

All you need is brake balance and to start testing it. no ABS for wheel users works too but you should try the brake balance and you should first of all start testing.

He says what he knows about the cars based on reality and when people don't agree then they give him a penalty well they ban him actually but its normal you have people that don't understand it really and then bans someone who clearly understands the car. reventon10 is actually the primary person who suggested of the no ABS restriction update , now reventon10 gets the penalty which is usual.
